If you love to have flowers delivered and/or to surprise a loved one with flowers, then this may the Groupon for you to snatch up! Through February 11th, head over to Groupon where you can currently snag a $40 FTD voucher for only $20. Before you assume that this is one amazing deal, consider the fact that you CANNOT use coupon codes or other discounts in conjunction with this voucher. 🙁 You see my sad face because there are often great coupon codes/discounts offered around Valentine’s Day which can even provides savings of up to 50% off….in other words, before you spend $20 on this Groupon, do a little research to see what sort of deals you can snag online without this voucher. And as my hubby mentioned last night (he is just so darn romantic 😉 ), you can always go down to the local gas station and buy a dozen roses for $10…I mean in the end, it really is the thought that counts, right?!

Fine Print: Limit 2/person; limit 1/order. Online only. After 6/16/11, Groupon value reduces from $40 to $20. This Voucher CANNOT be used in conjunction with any other promotions, gift certificates, coupons, discounts or reward programs.

I think your hubby and mine have the same “romantic” ideas in common. 😉 lol

Mine too! Last year I told my hubby not to get me anything for Valentines Day…and he didn’t. What a bummer…

LoL to your hubby’s comment, I guess he’s right though

I have to agree with your husband 🙂

Yup, my husband’s the same way. We actually bought this Groupon… so that we can send flowers to his mother in a different state. But I don’t mind–he’s sweet to me every day to make up for it!

Before you buy this, you might want to check their prices. I’ve noticed prices are about $10 higher when using groupon and handling fee is about $19.

I noticed the same thing. I hate it when they make you buy from a certain link that has higher prices. No real discount there. However, if you refer a friend on groupon.com you can get $10.00 free through groupon. The last time they sent me a free $10 it really made for a good deal. However, I don’t know if you can combine both deals. Worth checking perhaps. HTH.

you can get that kind of a deal at a gas station this time of year?!? flowers are a racket at vday around here, they jack up all the prices!

    • Catherine

Walmart has pretty good prices on flowers around this time…if you want to fight the crowd. Fresh Market generally has a dozen organic roses for $9.99-they smell SOOO good.

Not sure if this would be considered another discount but someone at the Swagbucks wall mentioned purchasing this Groupon and then going through Ebates to make the purchase and get 20% back. I assume the 20% would only be on the $20.00 so $4.00 back. IDK, what do you guys think, possible?

Disappointed that you have to go through FTDgroupon. They don’t have the same mark downs as on their regular site. I had some picked out that were marked down to 19.99 on their reg. site and I looked on their groupon site and they are 39.99. It’s kind of a bummer!

This makes the Groupon “deal” NOT such a great deal! Shame on Groupon!

Collin, your posts crack me up! I especially enjoyed this one about the gas station roses. Try to beat being proposed to at a gas station! We were on our way to Florida for Spring Break when we stopped and he popped the question. This was after he had the chance to propose at the Paula Dean Restaurant in Savannah. Thanks for all you do Collin, you have saved our family a lot of money in the past 15 months since I have been addicted to your site.

A friend researched this and there’s a hidden $20 fee after using the groupon, so it doesn’t seem to be a deal at all.

I checked this groupon deal out earlier. 1 particular bouquet I wanted to order was $39.00 using the groupon link (plus $18.50 shipping handling). I have a Discover Credit card so I wanted to get their 20% rebate. When I logged in through shopdiscover.com , that same bouquet came up as $19.00. Careful though, they still hit you with a fee of $14.50 to $18.50 shipping and handling. Also, they want an additional $10 to get a vase with it.

Have to agree with your husband. My husband was always buying me huge bouquets and I finally had to tell him I am just as happy with a cheap bouquet from the grocery store. I mean really, they just die anyways. I would rather have a new clothes or something pretty for the house instead of all that money being thrown away in a week.

Anyone get screwed by this entirely? First I got screwed by the price increase for the flowers from pre-groupon to after. Second, NOTHING ARRIVED TODAY. We’ve been home all day and our Amazon package for the Thomas Trike arrived (sweet!) but nothing from FTD.

    Worst Groupon ever.

Never buying from TFD in the future. Going to go local next time.

    *sigh*
