** Staples Easy Rebates really are easy! Most of the time you can submit all your rebate information online here (there are occasional manufacturer rebates that must be submitted by mail…simply check your rebate redemption form which prints from the register at checkout to ensure your rebate is eligible for online submission). With rebate offers of $10 or more, a prepaid card is the primary reward and you have the additional option of choosing a check or Staples Gift Card. With rebate offers of less than $10, check is the primary reward and you have the additional option of choosing a deposit to your registered PayPal account. You’ll receive your rebate 4-6 weeks after you submit it or even sooner. For additional questions, you can contact Staples customer service at 1-877-266-6483.

*** If you are not yet a Staples Rewards Member, now is time to sign up! You’ll earn 10% back in rewards on all ink and toner, case and ream paper, and Copy & Print Center services. There’s no limit to how much you can earn in rewards! Please note the following important facts: the price eligible for Rewards is the amount paid at checkout AFTER application of all promotions, coupons and Rewards redemptions. This means that if you pay for the batteries above in full with Rewards, you will NOT receive Rewards for the batteries.

when you receive a check back is it made out to you and can be deposited into your bank account or can it only be used at staples for more product?

    • mouni

It has to be used at the store. It’s more like a reward.

      • Kiesha

I think you are confusing Easy Rebates with Rewards. Easy Rebate checks are real checks that can be deposited. You can also get a paypal deposit if you prefer that instead of a check.

Rewards have to be used at the store. They are two different programs.

          • Kiesha

It states this right on the link that you provided:

With an Easy Rebate Check, you will receive a check in the mail that can be cashed.

It appears you are confusing Easy Rebate checks with Easy Gift checks.

            • mouni

Its seems like they have diffrent kinds of rebates. So confusing! Thanks for your explanation , Kiesha.

            • Kiesha

I agree, it can be very confusing! Glad I could help! 🙂

I can’t believe Staples keeps giving away free batteries. And they are a name brand.
I used to think I was getting a good deal at Costco when I bought batteries, no more of that!
I stock up on AA and AAA whenever I get this opportunity, I am a big fan of Staples!
    thanks

Recyclebank has a Staples coupon for $10/$50. Buy two packs of batteries plus some of those additional things and you could wind up getting it all for free! The coupon is 75 points on Recyclebank. Anyone know if there is a free one out there somewhere?

    • Kiesha

The problem with that scenario is that if you use a coupon on a Rewards item, the amount of the coupon is deducted from the Reward you get back. In this case if you bought 2 packs of batteries and used the $10 off $50 coupon you would be wasting over half the value of the coupon because over $5 would be taken off your Reward.

Easy Rebates are not affected by coupons, so I normally use mine when there is a big ER week. 🙂

  4. Kristie M

So, I have rewards checks to use — but I cant use them now for the above deal and get the full reward back?? or is that just for the batteries?? Thanks anyone!

    • Kathy

Kristie, you can’t use Staples rewards on any of the items that have a Staples rebate, which includes the photo paper , copy paper and colored paper in addition to the batteries. If you use the rewards on these, you won’t qualify for the easy rebate. However, you can buy any of the other sale items or anything else, of course.

      • Kiesha

Using rewards on an Easy Rebate item won’t affect your rebate. Using Rewards on another Reward item will decrease the amount of your Reward.

  5. Lynnette

I’m new to purchasing at Staples, how do the rewards work on the batteries to make them free? Does something print out at the register?

    • Kathy

Lynette, yes, you pay full price, then a rebate form prints at the register that you can either mail in or submit online to get the money back. BTW,submitting the easy rebate online is SUPER easy. If you ask, the cashier will even highlight what you’ll need on the receipt to fill it out!

      • Kiesha

The batteries are not an Easy Rebate, they are a Reward. Very different programs. To get your Rewards you just get your Rewards card scanned when you purchase and the Reward will automatically be tracked. Details are available here: https://www.staplesrewardscenter.com

  6. sar1

Note to everyone choosing the prepaid card as the rebate. The cards EXPIRE. Don’t let them sit around like I did. I think it was only valid for 2-3 months. It’s still a great deal, just don’t forget to use the prepaid card.

  7. Anonymous

Are the rebates per person or per household?

  8. jmartcougar

great I need copy paper pronto!

  9. Anonymous

any one know can you have more than one rebate account/ rewards per house hold? I tried to find out if its per person or household, but I haven’t been able to find the info. thanks in advance

    • Kiesha

Limit one Staples Rewards account per person or at any mailing address.

  10. Deanna

So i’ve seen on another website that they roll their rewards. They have a $20 rewards check for recycling ink cartridges and are going to use it for the batteries and get the rewards back for the batteries, is that allowed?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I checked the ad. The batteries are a reward item. The reward is based on the out of pocket price paid. I used a small ink rebate check on a reward item one time and essentially wasted it since the next reward was reduced by the amount of the ink reward. I have been able to use discounts on the rebate items and still received the full rebate. Rewards ane rebates are two different things. Hope this helps.

    • J

Just make sure you read the fine print on the ad!!! If it states (like it does in the ad this week for the batteries) that you will receive a rebate for the price you pay minus coupons and rewards, then that is all you get!!

  11. Linda

Just a reminder….there is a $1/1 Duracell coupon in the P&G booklet…will make the batteries a moneymaker…sorry if this was already posted and I missed it 🙂

    • Kiesha

Coupons are subtracted from Rewards, wish it were not so. 🙁

  12. Jen

For anyone who is wondering… you can roll some rewards but you have to be careful! You CAN roll rewards into purchases that are Staples Easy Rebates but you CANNOT roll rewards into purchases that involve getting more rewards back. If you do use rewards to pay for items that will get back more rewards, they will subtract the rewards you used to pay with and only give you back the amount that you actually paid. Same goes for using coupons (including the $10 Recycle Bank coupons which is the only legit one I have found). When you use coupons on Easy Rebates you will get the full Rebate back but when you use coupons on “Rewards” items, they will subtract the coupon and then give you the remaining rewards.

Also, please note that when you use a coupon in a staples transaction they will take the amount of the coupon and spread it out to deduct so much off each item. For example, if you have a $10 coupon and you are spending $50 total and have 10 items; then it will take off $1 for each item. This is why it is easier to just by the “rewards” items separately from the “rebate” items because otherwise you will lose some money. Make sense?

    • MA

Did not know that. Thanks so much for the info.

    • Kiesha

Thank you for explaining it more clearly than I did. 🙂

    • Jo

Is this a legit PDF coupon???????? I know soooo many of these are too good to be true. Anyone know?

      • sar1

It’s right from the 3M site. They typically have good pdf coupons.

        • Jo

          THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. NYCSingleMom

staples rebates/rewards always confuses me which is why I just use rewards rebates on printer ink that way I know I am not losing money. I always need printer ink. Annoying but why lose money.

  14. Marcia

Thanks everyone for all your information. It is so helpful. I’m still a little confused about Staple Rewards. I have turned in easy rebates before, but not rewards. Are the rewards on your card or do they come in a gift card or what? For example, the batteries are 12.99. If I buy them, does that mean that there is 12.99 on my card that I can use to purchase something else.

    • Kiesha

You really should go to the link I provided, it explains things clearly but it would be difficult to explain all the ins and outs on a blog reply. 🙂

But short answer, no it isn’t instant. Purchases are tracked and rewards are issued monthly if you reach thresholds.

      • Marcia

        Thanks Kiesha.

  15. melissa

Anyone have a good deal scenario to use the $10 off $50 coupon and break even this week?

  16. Zack

Woohoo! Got more batteries for free! I was really hoping they would have the 20 packs with the P&G coupons inside, but I think that idea is too good to be true…

  17. lori

i just did my first rewards purchase today. thiese comments have been so helpful. i thought i was getting a regular check back to deposit sooo i have a question. do i have to spend the entire reward at one time. it will be for 2 packs of batteries. TIA

    • sar1

As of right now, the fine print on Rewards says that if you spend a partial Reward, they will write a one-time Reward for the remaining balance if it’s over $1 and it still expires at the same date as the original. However, I’ve had a difficult time w/this actually happening in the store. Also, they can change the terms at any time (more fine print). I got burned by this last year when the store and online help once told me that they could reset an expired Reward and now the policy is that they will not.

      • lori

        thank you.

      • J

When I don’t use all of mine, the remaining difference prints out on the recipt.

        • sar1

Really? The cashier wouldn’t even try it for me. Hmm, next time maybe I won’t ask and just wait for the receipt to print. Thanks!

  18. Nycra

There is a coupon on coupons.com that will make the paper free. I noticed in the picture of the paper it showed color lock. The 1.00/1 coupon is for any HP paper with color lock. This should work it out to be free paper after coupon & rebate. ^^

    • J

Any one know if this is the same rebate as last week (If I did the paper rebate last week can I do it again this week??)

  19. Amber

Argh!! I wish I had read these comments before using the remaining $8 of my rewards on the batteries. Oh well. $4 for each pack of 24 batteries is still a great deal. I will not make that mistake again. I even thought about this, but it said nothing about it on the reward and it actually says that it will be treated like cash, but it is treated like a coupon.

  20. Tammy

Just and FYI on the Duracell battery offer…I’m glad I caught this. It resulted in the decision to do two separate transactions, one for the batteries and one for everything else. It states “Price eligible for the Rewards is the amount paid at checkout after application of all promotions, coupons, and Rewards Redemptions. Purchaser is responsible for paying applicable sales tax.” I had a rewards certificate to use, so I used it with a separate transaction that didn’t include the batteries. Otherwise, I would have pretty much lost the amount applied to the batteries from my rewards certificate. You also may want to save your coupons, if you need to purchase more batteries elsewhere. (I apologize if this is a reprint of info…I did a search on batteries and didn’t find the above mentioned….)

  21. Marcia

Is anyone’s rewards for the batteries showing up? Mine isn’t.

    • Lynnette

Mine isn’t showing up either! I have gone on a few times this week and checked and also manually tried to add it with the barcode number off the receipt. Not sure what’s going on. Does it normally take this long for those to show up?

      • Krystal

Mine arent showing up either. I purchased mine on Wednesday. I don’t know what to do.

    • Tobi

Mine haven’t showed up either 🙁 I purchased them over a week ago.

      • Tobi

I called. They were showing on my account, I just couldn’t see it. My rewards were available to print on April 18th. He told me there was a glitch in the system and that’s why they weren’t showing up for us to see.

    • CHERI

Hi, everyone, I have been checking over and over too, so I just called the Staples Rewards customer service number at 800-793-3320. The gentleman I spoke to said that they show up on your online account page during the third week of the following month that you made the purchase. I purchased the batteries on 3/28 and he said the rewards will show up next week. I also purchased batteries on 4/1 and he said the rewards from that will show up on staplesrewards.com during the third week of May.
