This catalina deal is good at many stores. Kmart, Target, walgreens, meijer, kroger, and a number other. I believe it is good at any store that has a cataline machine plus it is also good at Riteaid. So, it will be a moneymaker at any of those store that have reach brushes for a dollar or less.
I’m new to couponing, and haven’t done Walgreens at all yet, so I’m confused about how this deal can happen at other stores….I know other stores have catalina machines, but wouldn’t it generate a coupon for $ off another product (and might be one that I’d have to spend $ OOP to get), and not a coupon for general $ off like Walgreens’ RR’s?
I’ve been couponing since Memorial Day weekend last year, and I have never ever been able to snag reach toothbrushes at walgreens. Every time there is a deal on reach toothbrushes they are always always sold out!

yeah its for kids toothbrush the coupon but u can stack it with the adult coupon we got in the sunday paper i think so

Maybe I’m reading your post incorrectly, but to clarify for any newbies reading your comment, you can’t “stack” two manufacturer coupons on a single item. “Stacking” refers to using a STORE coupon along with a MANUFACTURER coupon. That’s permitted at most stores because the store is providing one discount and the manufacturer is providing the other.
It’s also important to use coupons on the products for which they were intended so you couldn’t use a kids toothbrush coupon at all if you’re only buying adult toothbrushes.
Sorry for the confusion, Vinita! The blogger who emailed me this deal at first stated the Reach kids toothbrushes were on sale for $0.99, so that’s why I posted a link to that coupon. It has since been removed, though, since the kids toothbrushes are not included in the sale.

I tried it here in Fort Lauderdale , FL , because it is priced $.99 and coupon is for $1.00 they won’t adjust the coupon, saying they can’t do it manulally, they always give me a hard time with that. Should I simply add a filler item ?
Also the price tag on the shelf does not mention it will give you RR, is that the way it is for you all ? A RR deal that is not really advertised?

I can’t find four of anything at our Walgreens…they are always out of stock on deal items…I’ve quit even trying to shop there.
I think they “hide” them in my store, until my coupons expire.

I am not dissing on you, but it seems like this question is asked in like every.single.deal. that collin posts and someone replies that YES, insert coupons ARE regional. If its not in your insert, then try ebay or a clipping service. Unfortunately I didn’t get them so maybe another H2S’er will be kind enough to offer theirs if they have extra inserts.
My coupon in the 5/8 insert was for $2/2. You may want to double check that you don’t have that one instead. Hope that helps!

one of my 4/17 SS coupons states, “Buy 2 Save $2.50. buy (1) Listerine total care anticavity mouthwash 1L or larger and/or any (1) Reach toothbrush and/or any Reach floss or (1) Reach access flosser” and a Buy 1 save $1 of the same products.
Can I use the $2.50 or $1 coupons? and what if my total coupons are more than the price of the products?
i THINK you can…i used those on floss and got pretty good overage at walmart. I don’t usually shop at walgreens…i’d think they would lower it…

I have used that coupon on two of the same item in that deal and it worked without beeping…I read it a few times and at least to me it implies that you need to buy any two of those three types of items, but doesn’t say they have to be 2 different ones.
Walgreens doesn’t give overage, so the 2.50 coupon will beep and they will adjust it down to $1.98. But you can use it.
No, you can’t use the $2.50/2 coupon for just 2 TBs. The coupon states you have to buy:
1 tb & 1 floss
OR
1 tb & 1 mouthwash
OR
1 floss & 1 mouthwash
You can use the $1/1 TB coupon, though

No, you can’t. READ THE COUPON, PEOPLE! See the (1) in front of each item listed? That means 1 of each! If you guys keep using coupons on products other than what is indicated on the coupon, then the stores won’t get reimbursed. Then, the stores will stop taking ALL coupons. If you keep using coupons this way, YOU will ruin it for everyone (including yourself). If you are not sure about a coupon verbiage, CALL the manufacturer!
these are 2 different coupons you are speaking of, there is one you have to buy the listerine BUT there is one that is for and/or that can be used on these tooth brushes.
I agree, adding the or in the wording makes it non- inclusive [if you ask me] .so it can be on any of the 2 items. In the past way back when lol when some of the manuf. tried wording it this way it always meant any combo of those 2 items. They tried this a while back due to the fact that if they just stated $2/2 and listed the items some of the consumers had trouble with redeeming [stores would say you had to buy 2 of the same items] or all of them if it was Walgreens lol . Leave it to Johnson & Johnson to resurrect the way that didnt work out either lol

You must purchase two different items. Even if it doesn’t beep it is incorrect coupon usage.
Reach Floss is on sale for .99 so if you have 2 coupons you can buy 2 Toothbrushes and 2 Floss and have the cashier take off $1.98 for each coupon.

I’m a little concerned about using $1 coupons for items that cost 0.99. Last time I tried this with the Carefree deal, the cashier wouldn’t adjust the coupon from 1.00 to 0.99.
Ask them to have a manager adjust the selling price of the product. That’s what they do for me… So they manually input the cost of the product at $1.00 so the coupon doesn’t beep.
“Buy” 5 and after she scans 4 and refuses the 5th, ask her/him to take off the 5th toothbrush and problem solved. It will only work once per cashier…. pretty soon they are going to catch on to our little trick.
yes, have them adjust it. and if they still give you a problem, ask to see their coupon policy, it clearly states in the policy that they can adjust coupons down.
Its actually illegal for companies to adjust coupon prices down. Target got sued for doing this. 🙂
I READ AT THE CLEARING HOUSE WEBSITE THAT IN FACT A STORE CAN WRITE ON THE COUPON THE SELLING PRICE OF THE ITEM IF THE ITEM IS LESS THEN THE COUPON. ADDITIONALLY, TARGET WAS SUED FOR THE COUPONS RINGING UP INCORRECT AMOUNTS. SO IF THE COUPON WAS FOR 2.00 OFF IT MAY HAVE RUNG UP FOR .50 OFF. THAT GLITCH HAS SINCE BEEN FIXED
If I have a generic Register Reward, in other words, a non brand specific RR, It just states save $2 on your next purchase, can I use this to pay for the toothbrushes and still get the RR to print out from the sale of the toothbrushes?
As long as it isn’t from Reach, just make sure you have the same number of items as coupons when using register rewards. For example: if you’re using 4 $1/1 coupons for 4 toothbrushes AND the RR, you’d want to add in a cheap “filler item” so that there are the same number of coupons as there are items. HTH

my wags didnt even have a spot for any reach brushes onthe shelf that were priced under $3. I asked and they mysteriously produced the 99cent ones from the back. This wags never has deals in stock or any of the really good sale items.

Amazing Collin! More free toothbrushes for friends and family. I got a million $1 off Reach toothbrush coupons back when there was a RR a while back. They say “Reach Total Care” toothbrushes, but do you think they’ll work on regular Crystal Clear ones?
I don’t think you can, unless the coupon reads “ANY reach TB” -If it reads specifically “Any Reach TOTAL CARE” then no, you can’t use it for another Reach TB (ie Crystal Clear).
I read on the other coupon site stating that according to Catalina web site, Wags is not listed as participating stores. Rite aid , Kmart etc are included though. I wonder if anyone actually could have received Catalina…
I just tried this deal and got a slip stating that the Catalinas for this will start printing 6/1 at Wags. I am not sure if they will still be .99 then or not. At least I got some free toothbrushes 🙂

I just tried it (I’m in Colorado Springs) and I got the RR.
Well as usual my walgreens, both of them, did not have one single one of these toothbrushes. They were wiped out, as usual. The shelf clearers in town already got to them.As well as the Old Spice body washes, Gillette body washes, and Colgate Proclinicals.

My walgreens would not take my coupons saying they were’nt even a dollar so she would’nt take the coupon the register never beeped or anything I think it was just the cashier do you think printing the walgreens policy would help in my case I used $2 off any 2 reach toothbrushes.

I just went and tried this at a Walgreens in Pensacola. They only had 3 Crystal Clean toothbrushes left (I didn’t have any coupons to use, but thought that getting the RR’s would alone be worth it). The coupon machine printed out a notice that said between 6/1/10 and 6/24/10 (last year?) if you buy Reach toothbrushes you will then, at that point, get a coupon to use on your NEXT purchase. No register rewards for me this time! The clerk asked me if I wanted to return the toothbrushes, but I did just keep them. They were on sale for 99 cents each. Does Walgreens have regional deals?

My 4/17 SS coupon for Reach is $1 off for 1 Reach By Design toothbrush. It would not work with the Crystal Clean ones…..but I still got them for free as the RR printed out 🙂

The $2.50/2 Reach coupon I have on hand reads “and/or”, so to me that means you can buy 4 Reach Toothbrushes and use 2 $2.50/2 coupons.
UPDATE: Disregard what I said above… I just looked at the coupon closer and noticed that it does state “Items Cannot be Duplicated”, which to me means that you can not buy 2 of the same items, so you would have to buy toothbrush and floss OR toothbrush and mouthwash etc.

Didn’t work for me in PA – no RR/catalina printed. The manager at the store I stopped at would not adjust the coupons down either.
My store in Detroit has them on sale, but no RR is generated. The coupon machine printed out a notice that said some old dates, if you buy Reach toothbrushes you will then, at that point, get a coupon to use on your NEXT purchase. The manager came over and said all these customes are expecting RR and none are printing out and they are calling Wags corporate. The manager said its not advertised on the internet and its not in the flyer so be careful what you read on the internet.

I don’t know where to put this but I decided to watch Extreme Couponing tonight. I want to be nice but I have reservations about this show and the people featured. The stock piles that are shown are so LARGE! I wonder why anyone would need 80 plus boxes of cereal when the family size is only 2. I am not sure this show is good for couponers but not sure about the full impact. I see more couponers lately than I have ever seen at our local stores. I went to get some Wag deals at our 24 hour Wags on Sunday. Even the cashiers were complaining about a “lady couponer” who comes midnight to Wags on Saturday and clears the shelves. Saturday/Sunday night/morning the “lady” couponer bought 21 bottles of Gillete Body wash and 21 deoderants. Two men were there to buy the men’s body wash and there was none. My thoughts were is a deal that important to leave your family at midnight and go to Wags to clear the shelves? Personally I would not do it but that is me. There are so many new couponers around here now which I think is good but on the other hand the extreme couponing hype seems to be creating a craziness in some couponers. I hope this extreme couponing passes quickly and it is just a fad.
I agree with you Anna. Body wash seems to be some sort of free every week, yet every Sunday morning when I try to get some Walgreens is always out. How many bottles of body wash can someone use. Buy 1,2,or 3 keep clipping coupons and go back in a couple months and get some more. IT WILL STILL BE FREE. Some people need to get a life and leave some stuff for others. I think these people will eventually be on another TLC show….Hoarders.

Hi Collin I m asking something out of the topic but really need to know I bought 2 old spice 1 zest 1 gillette body wash and 2 gillette deodorants I used 1 off old spice bw and b1 g1 old spice bw 1 off. Zest 2 off gillette b1 body wash get deodorant free and b1 deodorant get 1 free so I did it wrong
I went to my Walgreens yesterday. I found the toothbrushes, which were not marked, but did ring up at .99 cents. I used the coupons but they would not adjust the $1 coupons down to match the .99 cent price. I told them their coupon policy said they could and they told me they didn’t know how. So I just bought a .39 cent pack of M&M so the last coupon would work. The catalina ticket that printed out was just an advertisement. It stated that you could buy 4 Reach toothbrushes and get $4 back between 06/01 and 06/24. Not sure if this is just in my area or not. Has anyone else had this problem??

Went to Wags in Houston, TX. They wouldn’t let me use the coupons $2 off 2 any Reach TB. I had 4 of them and two of those $2 off 2 coupons. It was on sale for 0.99; They didn’t adjust the price down. She told me it wasn’t the pictured product. Then she told me it only worked for non sale items. Finally, I asker her to ask the manager, and she came back and said she would ring up the more expensive toothbrush which was at $3.99
I also bought M/M’s for 0.39. So I ended up paying Forty something cents, but didn’t get a RR because only one toothbrush was on the receipt. I just didn’t argue. I actually came for the RR (which didn’t print out-and not sure if it would have from people’s comments here that it starts 6/1, and I lost 30 minutes of my time. I should have gone to CVS!)

Oh, btw, I also wanted prune juice for my daughter, and they were sold out. The manager said he wouldn’t write me a raincheck and I had to check back on Friday. He said if the raincheck were written I wouldn’t get the free prunes as advertised either. Is that true?
My walgreens changed their coupon policy to 1 RR per day. Like when the bodywash went on sale 3/$10- RR= something I can’t remember. So I was going to get 3 gillette wash, 3 old spice wash and 3 zest wash but they said I could only get RR on 1 set of 3 per day (not per transaction) they have some other changes too. Its crazy to me!! Anyone else experience this from Walgreens?

I got 4 free toothbrushes today and got the $4RR. I am donating the toothbrushes to our church for the tornado victims. I have a whole bag of stuff to donate now. My church is sending the stuff in a week or so.
Colin-I am so glad you are doing the donation for the tornado victims in July because by then a lof of people will have started to forget about all these people and the donations will start to go down and all those people are gonna need help for a while.

Got 16 toothbrushes today!! 8 at one Walgreens near where I work and the other 8 at the Walgreens near where I live. I had a combination of $1.00 off and $2/2 coupons and separated the transacations so I received a total of $16.00 RR and OOP of just $1.12 (tax) ! They had tons of them in stock! They didn’t have a sign in front of the display saying you would get RR awards so people just didn’t know about it!! (unless like me they looked at your site!) Score!!!

The reach toothbrush coupons were in the Sunday paper, as well, together with listerine and reach floss pictured. However it is good for any of the products. I almost missed it.

I’m getting so dissapointed in Walgreens, they have overcharged me (and not given 1 of a 4 buck RR) the last four times I shopped there. Actually 5 as yesterday was 2 transactions overcharged!! My small town only has a Walgreens, Rite Aid, and a Kmart . No others within 45 miles. So I can’t shop at another Wags. It’s been various checkers. I wrote corporate the 3rd time, and no answer. Hubby doesn’t want me to shop there.Sigh! We went back for our money for transaction #1 (the Scotch tape), but #2 was so convoluted (the Gillette Body Wash), after me questioning them, them returning some money, then me going home and realizing they still owed me , and had kept my RR that I was too upset to go through all the story again. Bummer when I am so excited to help us save.
