Think these promos count for grad students!? 😀

    • Michelle

      No kidding! =) I wish!!

    • terri

Erin, don’t forget to check your car insurance..many offer good grade discounts..I just got a discount for my high schooler! Worth checking out…it’s HUNDREDS of dollars.

  2. Dee

This is pretty cool! GRUB for GRADES! 🙂

  3. kelly f

Love the idea of these…. Didn’t McDonalds stop that promotion a few years back though? I went to their website and can’t see where they are advertising it -just curious if anyone knew?

  4. Amy

Does anyone know if this applies when early elementary grades are S’s? Thanks…

    • Lisa

I’m wondering about that as well. My daughter just completed 1st grade and they only issue the S’s.

      • Heather

Most of the deals say “A’s or equivalent.” Our Family Video sometimes gives us problems (our school district uses numbers instead of letter grades), but if you explain it to them, they’ll usually give you the deal 🙂

  5. Joni

My kids’s school doesn’t use letter grades. It’s all numbers. I’m not sure why they think numbers are better than letters. ???

  6. emilytwinmom

Hmmmm what do we homeschoolers do? HA!

    • Linda

Issue your kids a report card, just be fair with their grades as any other teacher would be. enjoy!

    • smellyann

I was wondering if anyone else would be thinking that! 🙂

  7. Kim

Anyone notice the BR site doesnt list anything about a promo ice cream for grades? I dont see anything mentioned on their site at all. I also don’t see anything on the McD site. But still a GREAT ‘treat’ for the kids…free movie and free pizza. Perfect!

  8. Anna

I was going to ask where the info was for the McD’s too. And when I printed out the Pizza Hut explanation it said Pizza Hut of Maryland. Still, I’ll call around here and see what they offer.

    • Anna

So my kids are like…I don’t care how far away the Krispy Kreme is. That can be dinner. Because we’d get a dozen free.

Here’s a link I found on the subject of student discounts: https://goodgraderewards.com/

      • NewHorizon

The goodgraderewards list is dated August 2008. 🙁

  9. Anna

The almost universal response I got was, “Uh, what?”

The only place in my city who does anything for report cards is Krispy Kreme.

  10. Kari

These deals sound great, but you might want to check with your local stores before heading in for the deal. For example, I know that every Chick-fil-A is individually owned and they don’t all do the same promotions. The free 8 nugget offer is probably for that store only and is not chain wide.

  11. Jessica

Family Video’s free rentals is good for Kindergarten to college and you get a free rental for EVERY A!!!!

  12. HEATHER

Thank you for this list!! I totally forgot about grade freebies. I wish I had known last year, since my daughter had all A’s in Kindergarten.

Unfortunately my daughter will only qualify for the Blockbuster and Chick Fil A deal this year. (We bought a new house and switched districts to an extremely challenging school) She got all “B”s. She is in first grade and they only get graded on Math, Spelling, and Reading. Then, a handwriting grade of Outstanding, Satisfactory, or Needs work.

She got a satisfactory grade in writing. Then, 92 in math and spelling, and 88 in reading.

At her school, you need 93% to get an A. It is so frustruating. Not only that, but they make it very hard to get an A. They are graded on NOTHING except tests. Homework and classwork does not count on the grade. Then, they never have had extra credit on a test, and they give no partial credit for answers. (like one question might have four addition facts in it, and if you get three right out of four, that question gets a zero. On Spelling you need to spell your ten words (she always knew them all) which was 50% of the score and then on the back they needed to write sentences given to them. If they misspelled one word on that sentence that sentence would get a zero even though the misspelled word was not a spelling word and she spelled five out of six words in that sentence correctly. They like to make it so you only get 80% or 90% by knowing all of the spelling words. 🙁

I got straight A’s throughout school. I can’t imagine what I would get in today’s society. You could get a B or a C on a test back then and raise your grade with homework.

Sorry for the rant! Anyways, does anyone else have educational standards that are so strict in their districts?

  13. Mark

It’s sad that many kids today have to be “rewarded” to good grades in school. Especially with the competition for employment, now adays.
Having grown up acting in shows, and having learned from tutors on tour with us, if you didn’t get good grades, you were kept from performing, didn’t get paid for performances you missed, and your stage parents back home, were notified why you didn’t get your full pay.

  14. Leticia

Does this promo run all month? Since I can’t find any info on the company websites I’m just curious before I start calling around 😀 Thanks!

  15. Karis

Chick-fil-a didn’t honor the a’s but we scoed at Krispy Kreme. One boy received 12 and the other one 13.

  16. Vee

I’m sad to report that none of the restaurants in my area are participating. I have called every chain and none of them know what I am talking about. My son is a straight A and A+ student also. SMH

  17. NewHorizon

Called my local Baskin Robins in northern Virginia – they don’t offer this discount.
Not sure, but I think this list of discounts is actually about 4 years old…?

  18. Crystal

Baskin Robbin stores are all individually owned. Therefore, it’s up to that owner to decide to do a discount (most don’t). Our store in Greenwood, IN offers $1.00 kids scoops with a choice of one free topping for good grades.
