That is fantastic! I wish more were doing it or making more rooms available for our Heros!

  2. Kelly T

…or doing it on a weekend night. Most people who are active military still have to go to work during the week.

  3. sahmom04

That is a reallly nice thing to do. Too bad I can’t take advantage of it since it is for a Thursday night stay. I have to get my 4 daughters ready for school Friday morning. I understand though as I’m sure Fridays are a big night for guests checking in for their weekend stays.

Wish we could do it but its not on a wknd-too bad. The Ellijay, GA location is nearby.

    • Rebekah

are you in Dahlonega by chance? We were stationed(well my husband) about 3 years ago at the Ranger camp and I know Ellijay isn’t far from there:)

      • Gil

I hate how unfriendly utah is to its vets. Same as last year, no one in the state is participating. 🙁

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I agree! I was excited to see this deal until I searched Utah 🙁

  7. Cay

My husband just booked one of these B&Bs for us! We are so excited, we rarely get a chance to do anything alone together between finding a sitter and coming up with the funds. It’s also rare to find places offering anything for Vets, and not just active.

  24. Nicole

Hi Collin! I have a question for you…what is a VA card? My husband is an honorably discharged Marine and now only has expired military IDs. We have wondered on many occasions how we can show valid ID for discounts and programs offered to veterans. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks!

    • Bridget

You should be able to go to your closest ID center to get one. If you do not know where your closest one is, call your closest armory or base and they should be able to give you that information.

    • Renata

Go to your local VA hospital 🙂

  25. crystal

Yeah!! Thanks for letting me know now some of them are already full. We had so much fun last year cant wait to again. I did notice at least here in nm that there are fewer place on this list. But hey i’m just glad there are some places doing this. 🙂

  26. Jodie

HEYYY! ~ I’d like to offer all of you parents a suggestion ~ PLEASE do this! If your kids miss one day of school, they will be okay, and the value you add to your marriage by “getting away” and reconnecting will certainly be worth it. Your kids will be more confident knowing mom & dad are solid & still love each other, and your home is likely to have a renewed sense of family unity. The school doesn’t own your child, anyhow, you do. and YOU can call the shots. Kids don’t grow up remembering “wasn’t it great that mom & dad were faithful to send me to school EVERY day?” nope – they will fondly recall “remember when we got to take a day OFF of school, and mom & dad came home all happy bc they had a mini vacation at a hotel?”. DO IT!

  27. Amanda

This is awesome! My husband was in Iraq when this offer was going on last year. I’m so excited that we get to go this year! We cant wait to take a few days off work and have time to ourselves! 🙂
