Sleep Number is offering a free cotton travel pillow to military personnel who visit a store on Friday. “We know the stresses, pain and difficulties of re-acclimating to life after service,” spokeswoman Gabby Nelson says.

    • Dee

Woo-hoo! 2 free pillows for me and the hubby! 🙂 Thanks for posting.

    • addicted2coupons

      tks

  2. CJ

I’m proud to be a veteran alongside my father and husband. I do believe I will take advantage of these opportunities to save a few bucks today and enjoy the day with my brothers and sisters of our armed forces.

  3. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Red robin- at least in mi- is offering free A free gourmet cheeseburger with military Id/ veterans card

  4. Amanda

Maybe I’m wrong but doesn’t Lowes give a 10% military discount everyday??

    • toryaslim822

They do because my brother in law is in the army and uses his discount all the time since he is remodeling his house and my step dad uses his discount all the time there too.

    • Dee

      Yup. Home Depot too.

    • Kim

I thought it was normally 5%?

    • Heather

Yes they do, but if you notice it says veterans…which means you don’t have to be active duty to receive the discount on those specific days.

      • Mihaela

Home Depot gives 10% to all military – active, spouses, veterans and reservists

    • Robyn

It depends. Most do, especially if there’s a large military population but they’re not required to. It’s all on the MGMT.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Yes both Lowes and Home Depot give a discount everyday with a military ID card.

    • Jen B.

The special deal today is that any VETERAN, not just active duty or retirees, can get the discount. The 10% offer is normally not available to folks who are not active duty or didn’t retire from the service (and their dependents).

  5. Katie

IHOP has a free meal for veterans, but it seems like you have to bring a copy of the email they sent a couple of days ago. I don’t know if there’s a way to get in on this still for this year, but you may want to sign up for next year…

Also, if you happen to be in the Salt Lake City area, So Cupcake is giving away free cupcakes for veterans (and they’re yummy!) https://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/So-Cupcake/56025012396

    • Mackenzie

Typically IHOP offers a military discount anyway when you are in uniform or have your ID. Hopefully that’s all you need for the free meal.

  6. Liz

Red Lobster is offering a free dessert (of your choice) to all Veterans who purchase a meal. It was not advertised, but it is going on.

  7. Amy

I know sports authority is giving a 15% off you purchase if you bring in the coupon and your military proof. https://bit.ly/uybH6k

the olive garden “ID required” thing is regional. some Olive gardens do not require an ID and will take your word for it

  11. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Went to our dennys and I guess there is a miscommunication between the server and the cashier. Server said free, cashier only gave 20%. Just a little disappointed.

  12. Heather W

I don’t have any comments on the deals. I just wanted to say thank you Collin to your husband and your family for your service.

    • Jen B.

Me, too! Thank you to your whole family!

  13. Bella

Why would someone care if you have to show a military ID ?? if you are being honest about it, then it shouldn’t matter because you have nothing to worry about it. and SADLY there will be MANY people to lie and take advantage of these generous offers…

    • becky

That is exactly what I was thinking!! Let the veterans ONLY enjoy it so these business don’t quit doing this every yr….

  14. Monica

Applebee’s will have a visit from my family tonight, my mother, brother-in-law, husband and myself are all vets… we’ll take the kids, too! Thank you to everyone who has changed the collective mind of a nation

    • Bella

I’m in MI. My hubby was able to get a free meal from famous dave’s and he got me crazy bread lol. I may not have been active duty….but I feel like I served too! He normally acknowledges that today and gives me something that he gets for free. We didn’t make it to my sleep number store though. 🙁

  18. Michelle

Wow- my husband, who served in the Navy, got a free entree at Olive Garden and the manager came up after our meal and gave him a $10 gift card towards our next meal. I would say that is pretty darn generous. Very thankful. Thanks for the heads up on this great list, Collin.
