Well, here’s an opportunity to snatch up a 32″ Flat Screen TV at a great price. Doesn’t appear to be that much of a discount:
    Type Price When
    Current $197.00 Nov 06, 2011
    Highest * $249.99 Oct 26, 2011
    Lowest * $197.00 Nov 06, 2011
    Average + $225.33 –

  2. Kristi Q.

Looks like other e-tailers have it at $249, but probably add shipping and who knows the other retailers’ return policy/customer service record. Doesn’t seem like a huge screaming deal, but a decent one for those in the market for the product.

  3. Lisa

We’ve been looking for a 32 inch, and I had $30 from swagbucks! Awesome deal!

    • ketsy

I was thinking the same! I have 40 SB, you cant beat free shipping. I need a tv like this for the girls room and waiting in line on black friday is just not my thing. 😀

      • Deb

Boy, I’m with you on that!
I still remember the year I got in line at WM for a laptop formy Dad while visiting him in Daytona.
        Those folks were NUTS!

        • ketsy

Ha, ha! Here in Florida it’s not even on Black Friday… it starts Thanksgiving evening and I’ve seen people fry their turkeys out there… no joke lol

  4. Melanie

Probably a dumb questions, but does anyone know if you have to subscribe to HD service to use this tv?

    • Erin Johannes

You don’t have to subscribe to HD service to use the tv, but those channels just come in crystal clear compared to the regular channels. The tv will still work fine on the normal channels.

    • Toni S.

No you don’t have to subscribe to HD to use this TV, only if you want true HD reception.

      • Melanie

        thanks!

In this week’s ad of Target (on the front page), they have a 32 inch LCD tv for $197 too. 🙂

I am soooooooooooo tempted- I believe this is a really great BASIC tv- picture and sound quality. I just cut of cable. Very sad- but I am saving $50/month and now $200 that I really want to spend- and will probably read more books…still miss my cable tv!!! 🙁

    • Andrea

      You and me both!!! 🙂

    • momof4spoiled1s

I had to cut my cable years ago. I miss it too but its way too expensive.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

My husband and I got married in 2008 and we haven’t had tv since then. We watch everything on hulu, cbs.com, or abc.com. So many people are getting rid of their cable. I honestly don’t miss it.

    • Lynn

We don’t miss it either. I use Hulu and still have the very basic package. News comes from web sites and weather, too. Local news comes from cable. Many people are dropping cable. The prices go up every few months.

I have a Haier microwave and I’m completely happy with it’s performance. It’s over 2 years old.

    • MAREOLLE

We have a Roku where you can see Netflix and others streaming movies and shows through it and all the other Roku stations on it love it. Roku is a one time fee and Netflix streaming is less than $8.44 a month.
Hulu sounds good too but haven’t tried it.

    • nikki

I live near one too and could use a great deal.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

have one right around the corner, and need a few things for our new house!

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

My husband is a GM at an hhgregg. If anyone really is interested email me at jenipher145 at hotmail (dot) com

I have one. I got it for free the same one 32 inch when I bought furniture at AShley furniture and it is really the best. No problems whatsoever with it and Ihave had it almost two years. I think it is underrated in the market. Do not hesitate to buy at this price. I am contemplating buying this one for my other tv room because I need an upgrade

    • Kristi

We bought this last year and love it!! Keep in mind this includes shipping and no tax….If you buy at any store, you still have to add on taxes!!

      • Kristina

If you live in WA, you pay taxes on Amazon purchases (it’s a Seattle based company).

  9. Jenna

THANK YOU COLLIN! My hubby and I had talked about using our Christmas money we would have spent on each other to start saving for nice flat screen. (We have and old, huge, dinosaur of a TV right now) Thanks to you, we can actually get it for Christmas instead of just saving for it. It was the exact amount we were planning on spending on each other. Woo-hoo! Thanks so much!

  10. Mona

Just don’t know how anyone could possibly miss cable TV with all the options available on antenna television. We have about ninety stations and are lucky enough to be able to get these with just a small plug-in indoor antenna. We do live close to all stations so I guesss that makes a difference. I am trying to get my husband to jump in on this deal and he probably will before the day is over. Thanks a million for the post.

    • Elizabeth

A lot of people don’t get near that many. When we had one we literally got like 4 channels. One religious, PBS, and two of the same (fox or something. Both were fuzzy).

    • ketsy

Yeah. That;s not normal most people don;t get that many channels. Five at the most and with the weather changes and antennas.. no, no, no. I did without cable when we both worked because we were rarely home to watch tv. Now I stay at home and don;t see how people do it and I’m not even hooked on tv. But many channels for the girls, and sports to keep him busy a while lol… Really .. plus I have the unlimited calling and internet bundle so I would definitely cut the budget somewhere else. I quit smoking so that help tremendously and cut way back on eating out. I think if it gets to that point I may shut down the ac during the day before cutting my cable. 😀

      • Laura

I’m a stay at home wife and haven’t had tv for years. You can watch most shows on the internet. People are always shocked that we don’t have tv, but it really isn’t a big deal at all.

    • Carrie

I live in Rochester, NY which is a decent-sized city and you’d get maybe 10 antenna channels on a good day. So I do spring for true basic service with Time Warner. For about $10/mo I get the 4 major networks (+CW and PBS), and also F/X, WGN, Animal Planet, The Weather Channel and a few others thrown in. I watch a lot on my laptop either directly from the networks or via netflix.

      • meryl

hmmm, must ck out TW- I had the cox bundle, now just have landline and internet [which I believe I can get cheaper on dslextreme] but wanted to see what life would be like sans cable….no hgtv, no nancy grace- i am just about crying now!! 😉

I would DEF pay $10 but I am guessing that is part of some package deal? If you have any inside tips Carrie pls share cos $10/month is NOTHING for basic- that’s all I need, never did any of the pay channels. Thank you!!!

        • melissa

I have TWC for the basics too. I pay $14 with taxes each month and get all the major networks, pbs, wgn, cw, and a few shop at home channels. I also have a Roku and stream hulu plus and Netflix. All in all I spend a whopping $50 for high speed dsl (AT&T deal) and tv. This is down from the near $200 it used to cost me. I don’t miss it at all.

    • Courtney

You are an anomaly. I have an antenna and live about 40 miles from boston. I get two pbs stations (one nh, one ma); abc; nbc; cbs; fox; the local mytv station, and 3 Spanish ones. And that’s considered a lot in my area.
Somedays I miss cable tv, but I don’t miss the bill!

  11. Tisha in SC

Seems like a great deal. I recently found a 46 inch plasma HDTV @ Target for $299. It was an early Xmas gift for my husband!!

  12. Heather

Bestbuy has a better deal on the same size for the same price but it is 1080i rather then the 720.

    • Heather

Yea, 1080i is the way to go.

    • mayas_mom

I can’t seem to find this deal you are talking about at Best Buy. Do you have more details?

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Best Buy has a great deal -but very difficult to actually find!….I actually have been looking all day for different 32 in. tv’s Best buy had the best value…but it is a discontinued model, cannot be ordered online only picked up in store. I have checked IL, IN, MI, and WI and found 2 – both were open box and missing remotes/stands etc. This amazon deal seems like it might be a keeper!

    • The Amazon Addiction

Ultimately, the difference between 1080 and 720 is not noticeable on a television this size. You only really begin to notice the difference on 50″ and above.

  13. Brianne

We have a 19 inch in this brand in our kitchen & we love it. I got it for $170 last year & was leary since I had not heard of the brand but I am so glad I bought it because it has been a great TV. So yes, this is a great deal for a 32 inch. From what I’ve been reading, shoppers can expect great deals on flat screens this month through various retailers.

  14. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Remember that HAIER products DO NOT respond to Universal remotes. If you lose the remote or it breaks…you’re SCREWED! We found out the hard way with a DVD player of theirs and we could not even buy a replacement through them. I will never buy Haier again.

  15. Mona

How is Haier pronounced? Is it hyer or hayer? Just wondered.
