Walgreens: FREE W By Duck Brand Packing Tape?

OK, so I am thinkin’ this should work. Walgreens has the W by Duck Brand Packing tape priced at only $0.99 with in ad coupon this week – which is already a great price. But, even sweeter, you can head on over to the Duck Brand site to print a $1/1 ANY Duck Brand packaging tape coupon. So after the in ad coupon and manufacturer’s coupon, you’ll score yourself FREE packing tape! 😀
Side note, I am not positive that this coupon will work, as this packing tape appears to also be a Walgreens brand. However, it does state that it’s “By the Duck brand” on the packing tape and has their Duck logo.
* Note that this coupon is limited to one per household. Also, I noticed the following wording in the fine print – which I thought was pretty cute! I mean couponers never get embarrassed or cause a delay during checkout when they are using coupons correctly. 😉

In my Walgreens they did not have Walgreens brand of this tape – so the cashier said that they will substitute with another Duck tape – and the coupon worked just fine just ask your associate which tape is a substitute.
can’t wait for someone to report if it works or not.

i tried it and the coupon couldnt scan so the manager said to enter it manually since it was a man. coupon so i got it for free
It didn’t work for me. I went to two stores and neither of them had the Wag brand tape with the duck. They had the duck brand and they substituted that one so I could use the Wag coupon but they wouldn’t let me use the other coupon I printed out. I still bought it because .99 is still a good deal. 🙂
I don’t think this will work. The last time this was on sale and there was a coupon for Duck packaging tape I checked the barcode on the coupon vs. the barcode on the product & they didn’t match so it will be a beeper. You may be able to get the cashier to override it since it has the Duck brand logo on the front. I think the item is coded as a Walgreen’s product. I think it’s a YMMV situation on this one. I did see the Duck Brand single rolls of packaging tape (not on a dispenser) at Dollar General though and the regular price is $1.25 so it would only be .25 there.
I bought this tape a Dollar General with the coupon…to me it is a great deal because it is 50 yds. for only $.25 and I am 30 mins. from a Walgreens….
Someone on another site said the tape coupon is beeping at Walgreens, but that you can get DUCK brand tape free at Walmart, as their regular price is $1.00.
Heck yeah. Dont’ bother with Walgreens this time. I looked through all of the shipping and tape supplies and finally found one. But we will be on the hunt for more if/when they restock that item.

I tried this twice yesterday. It beeps but she said it was because she had to adjust it to $.99 instead of $1. Either way she adjusted it for me and put it through.
It’s interesting that it says the coupons are personalized and trackable because I input mine and my husband’s info and printed them two different times and the code is the same, everything is identical.
the information is embedded within the bar code.
It was not accepted at three Walgreens I went to. It has the “W” Walgreens logo so they wouldn’t accept it. It beeped, no item found…..Oh Well.
I did this deal earlier today. The coupon did beep. She checked the product and coupon and said, “Hmm, it is the same thing, wonder why it’s not working”. She tried it 3 times and then finally said, “Well, it’s going in THIS way” and I guess she overrode it. Then as she put it in the bag she noticed the Wag’s coupon and said, “Ah, that’s why it wasn’t working, because it made it $0.99”.
There is also a $1/1 Duck tape products in the 11/20 SS.

Know what’s funny about the message on the coupon? I bet the person who wrote that really does think people are scared of being “embarrassed” by the so-called shame of a rejected coupon lol If they only knew that I pretty much get rejected coupons every single time I shop…
Really off the subject, but when I worked for a bank and the overdraft laws changed (where you have to opt in for overdraft protection instead of having it automatically put in place) that was what we were supposed to do, tell the customer how embaressed they’d be if they were out to eat with friends and their card was declined because of a checkbook error. I guess the word is supposed to appeal to people’s pride and make them cave… 🙂

Well I will follow the disclaimer. Great price without the coupon anyway.
I used both the in-ad q and the manufacturer q from the paper on Sunday, and it worked for me without any beeps.
tried to do this today and the manager said I couldn’t do it because it’s a “walgreens brand” item (even though it says ‘by duck’ right on it)

Woo Hoo, went to Wags today and scored some deals; now gonna have to add this to the list. Just in time for getting those packages wrapped and off into the mail. 😉 Got some free candy today too for kids’ stockings!
The cashier manually inputted the coupon. However, unfortunately when I got home I realized the tape rang up incorrectly. I’m going to have to return. I usually check while items are being rung up but I was lazy tonight and paid the price:(
Boy, were those people on the coupon right about embarrassment and delay at the checkout! While the cashier rung up my order and tried to manually input the coupon, which would not scan, a line of 8 people formed behind me. When he told me he doesn’t know how to adjust the price down and had to call the manager over the speaker, I got dirty looks and annoyed sighs from every person behind me. I told him I’d come back later, grabbed my coupons and scurried away into the store. I did get those for free but it caused me some stress tonight. Thank you for the tip though, and for all you do Collin! 🙂
I was able to get two of these at my Walgreen’s. They questioned it at first and I told her that the coupon does state on any Duck brand so she had to type it in manualy. She was a wonderful cashier too. Opened my own lane for me as I had 8 transactions to do. I had everyone around me in the store cheering me on. Saved a ton of money that day:)

My walgreens wouldn’t let me use it. The register said item not found. If was a good price so I purchased it anyway.
It beeped. Cashier wouldn’t allow it. I asked her to call a manager – manager over rode it but would only let me use on coupon (two computers).
is this regular priced for a dollar at all walmarts ???does anyone know.. i saw a lady got them for free at her walmart but there is some huge price differences in even the two I shop at??? have any other people had success at walmart?

At my Walgreens this $2.99 but on sale 2/$5 but w/in ad coupon its $0.99. I gave my cashier the $1/1 coupon and it started beeping and told me she couldn’t use the coupon so I told her politely to manually put it in for only $0.99 manufacturer coupon instead. Once she did that it worked and I only had to pay the tax on it.
