If you are a newbie to Walgreens shopping, make sure to check out my Walgreens Store guide. …And if the coupon jargon below starts to confuse you, take some time to read through the Coupon Newbie section.

Also, as most of you know, Walgreens released a corporate coupon policy a couple months ago… finally! You can view the policy here. Be sure to print a copy and bring it with you when you shop in case any issues should arise. You can also now print Walgreens Instant Value Coupons online here. *NOTE: If you can find the monthly coupon booklet in-store, save your printer ink.

If I have 2 $3 Brainstrong manufacturer’s coupons on top of the Walgreens booklet coupon, wouldn’t that make it a moneymaker or will the booklet coupon self-adjust?

    • katee

you cant get overage at walgreens. the coupon will adjust down. if you do the walgreens coupon first the manufacturer coupon will beep and that will have to be adjusted down, but if you do the manufacturer coupon first then the wags coupon the wags coupon will self adjust.

      • Toria

Actually, many Walgreens do give overage, though not all. It depends on the store. All of mine do and they did the last place I lived as well. You just have to make sure you have something else to absorb that cost.

        • katee

well they are not supposed to its stated n the coupon policy that walgreens do not give overage

    • jean

Just use one $3 coupon on a purchase of 2 and they should be free.

    • Mae

@ Anon: Where did you find the $3 Brainstrong manufacturer’s coupons? TIA

btw… Happy New Years all you fellow hipsters, Collin and sidekicks !!

      • semiextremecouponer

** There are also manufacturer’s coupons available in the Walgreens Vitamin & Supplement coupon booklet that will make these supplements FREE!

  2. stephanie

Thanks so much Collin! Have a great New Years Eve!! 🙂

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

You are welcome! Happy New Years Eve! 🙂

  3. tami

Happy New Years Collin thank you so much for all your hard work this past year!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You are most welcome! 🙂

  4. lizard

The Gillette Razor $5 coupon is for “Buy One Gillette Fusion Proglide cartridge (4 ct. or larger), get $5 off one Gillette Fusion Proglide Razor”. You MUST buy the cartridge 4 pack or larger AND the razor. Not really a great deal.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

From what I’ve seen by looking at the coupon preview, there are actually 2 different Gillette coupons. One if for $5 off the razor and refill AND the other is for $5/1 Gillette Fusion ProGlide Razor. Hopefully that’s correct, as it makes for a great deal this week! 🙂

      • lizard

        Collin,
I am staring at the physical coupons (I get them early in the mail) and if there are 2 then the second is regional. Just the one in my P&G. I hope others get the better coupon.

        • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Oh darn! 🙁 Well, I just updated the post and have taken out the coupon since I’m thinkin’ maybe it was a typo in the coupon preview?

      • Ann

My PG has the one “buy the cartridge, get $5 off the razor 🙁

      • Tracy

I wish that $5 MQ would come back. I have my PG in front of me and both the Venus and Pro Glide are razor and refill for $5 off. OH WELL lots of good deals this week. Thanks Collin for all your hard work EVEN during your move! You Rock!

        • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks to all of you for letting me know… I have removed the coupon.

      • Ashleigh

Even better for me – I have a rain check for $6.99!! Whoop Whoop! Thank you Collin – you make couponing so much fun! 🙂

      • Anna M

I get my P&G early and the one you are talking about isnt in there.

        • stacy bergman

I got a $5 off just the razor and another coupon for 5 off the razor and refill. I am in texas – good deal here 🙂

          • Chad

Yesterday I asked one of our local WG associates about this coupon of buy cart and get $5 off razor. She said grab a razor and lets try it. IT WORKED….Just bought the razor and still got the RR…Ended up being $.99 for the razor after RR…Great deal!!

            • g

that is not how the coupon is intended to be used and therefore that is coupon fraud. you should not do that

            • Christina

actually the term coupon fraud is being way over used especially by employees of stores. It is incorrect coupon use. I have had employees yell at me when one was stuck to another and I didn’t buy the item, or one I didn’t notice expired, or an item I put back, or when there was a limit I didn’t notice. it was an error that happens to us all but extremely embarassing. Coupon Fraud is BUYING a PRODUCT the coupon is NOT intended for, such as using a Toothpaste on Floss, or Makeup on Shampoo. It is also used against people who swap out cash for a coupon in there till. PLEASE don’t throw that term out there unless it is actually correct. There was two diff. coupons and I also have a five dollar that came in another product for the razor, as well as one less than $5. Happy new year everyone.

    • katee

yes christina you are correct there is 2 diff coupons but as he stated his coupon was for both products but the employee said they could try it anyways. the coupon was intended for the purchase of the razor AND the cartridges, so using it for just the razor is not how the manufacturer intended the coupon to be used. on the coupons in the fine print it says good only on the purchase of the items specified, so by him only purchasing the razor and using the coupon he is not using it how it was intended therefore it is coupon fraud. the manufacturer intended for the customer to spend $20+ on the cartridges and razor together to be able to save $5, NOT to spend about $10 on a razor and still save $5.

      • katee

and whether is it coupon fraud or incorrect coupon use, it is still not right and should not be done. period.

  5. Ada - Lovin Him

Thanks Collin! I can’t believe you just moved, have all the holiday extra’s going on, have 3 little kids, and have time to get these match-ups done and posted! Hope you have the Happiest New Year and pray you are especially blessed for all the ways you generously bless others!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

You are most welcome, Ada! …And I also want to mention that I couldn’t accomplish nearly as much without the help of my awesome sidekicks! 🙂

      • Ada - Lovin Him

I pray they will be abundantly blessed too! You all not only help so many of us save money and bless others with stuff we can easily afford to donate, you bring us many smiles & laughs with your sweet personality 🙂

  6. Sunshine Saver

Heads Up! Look for specially marked packages of Colgate Total Advanced Toothpaste. It is on sale at Wal-Mart for $2.97 I think. I used a $1/1 coupon-expires today. It has a booklet with $15 worth of coupons in it! There is a $1/1 coupon in the booklet so I can go do the deal again! Makes me smile 🙂

    • shannyn

What were the coupons inside for??

  7. debra

The coffee mate coupon is no longer available.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Darn! 🙁 Just updated the post.

  8. Noel

The almonds confused me says will deduct $2 ? But it only came down from 5.49 to 4.49 what am i missing????

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Sorry… that was a typo. The final cost will be $4.49.

  9. Brittany

Thank you Collin! Happy New Years Eve to you and your family! 🙂

  10. cherise

Can someone clarify the “Spend $10 on Participating Household Products = $1 RR” (for this week it’s Tide products)? I thought you had to spend $10 before getting the RR. At my Walgreens, the use of coupons cannot bring you below the $10 mark otherwise the RR won’t print– (I tried it before and it didnt’ work.)

    • katee

if its $10 after all WALGREENS coupons then it should print. even id manufacturer coupons bring it below $10 that should not matter, it should print. i work at wags and thats how our store works, maybe you purchased a wrong product by accident? if you want to do this deal try asking the manager on duty before you pay HTH 🙂

      • cherise

        Thanks so much!

  11. Elizabeth

    Mrs. Hip 🙂
You are absolutely the best and I appreciate all your hard work. I have a question for ya..
Every time I try one of the deals at Walgreens that are buy “$15 on participating products get $5 RR” for example, the RR never print and the manage always tells me it is because you have to spend “$15” after coupons?! Have you ever had that problem and is this true? Thanks in advance for your help!

    • katee

      see my response above…hth!

      • Elizabeth

Thank you Katee! Not sure how I miss that right above me…lol 🙂

  12. Jaclyn

THANK YOU Collin!!! Happy New Year!!! 😉

  13. Samantha

I bought large packs of Duracell batteries and they have $20 worth of P&G coupons. Just a heads up!!

  14. Carol_R

    Thanks for the match-ups Collin!

  15. Kat

The GM Q is gone I think- that links says I have already printed it. I haven’t before. Went to the growupstrong.com site and they have a Q but it is $1/2 not $1.50/2.

    • ashley

same here in the gm q….i was excited for cinnamon toast crunch! lol

  16. Melissa

The enfamil coupon is good only for the Newborn brand which is being pulled from some shelves for testing due to bacteria possibly linked to that formula!

    • mrsnnr

Walmart pulled it voluntarily over a week ago. The formula was tested and found to be safe. The FDA and CDC have also confirmed this.

  17. sherryann11

I can’t get snack picks coupon to print 🙁

  18. coupon connie

Really like the side comment on the diaper price (Really bad price)! And the note about the wipes being cheaper elsewhere! Appreciate the honesty and the help with finding the best deal!! Thanks for all your hard work and “voice” in your posts!

  19. Julie M

I have a question regarding the following:

“Buy Tide Stain Release 10 pk $4.49
Use the $2/1 Tide coupon found in the 1/1 PG”

I see 3 tide coupons in my P&G

    $2 off ONE Tide detergent
$2 off ONE Tide Stain release 26-50 oz powder,15-36 ct, or 36-68 oz liquid
$0.50 off ONE Tide stain release (excludes travel size

Is there a different $2/1 Tide Stain release out there that is valid for 10 pk Tide Stain Release?

    • semiextremecouponer

I got the same coupons. I’m wondering that too..

    • Christina

I dont think there is a diff. one, I have the same one in NY as you in my P&G. The only other one I knew of was the one inside the box detergent you had to cut off for $2off any stain release and $1 off any detergent, and I used mine a couple weeks ago.

  20. Danielle

I started taking SAM-e a few weeks ago after Dr. Oz recommended it. Omg. I will never go a day without it ever again. It gives me so much energy. I get a good effect from taking 400 mg a day. And the stuff is pretty pricey. Worth every single penny even at full price. Stock up while it’s free! Dr Oz was highlighting several supplements as an alternative to energy drinks/shots that are bad for you.

    • Toria

Thank you! I was really curious if that actually worked.

  21. Heather

Just wanted to let everyone know, the Alka-Seltzer WAGs coupon from the January booklet does NOT work on the cold medicine 🙁 She tried punching the code in and the register would just beep. She said it must be for the stomach form since it just states ‘Alka-Seltzer’ on the coupon. Darn!

    • Heather

Though: it did print out a catalina for FREE Breath Right Nasal Strips 10-12 ct up to a $7.49 value so that’s a plus 🙂

      • porsche

I got one of those too! 🙂

        • D

          Me three!!!! 🙂 Very excited!

  22. Edie

Oh goodness, I’m excited for Walgreens this week. 🙂 Our particular store hasn’t restocked the Ester-C gummy vitamins since at least the beginning of November though, and it irks me. I know the B1G1 sale has happened multiple times since I got the rain check in early November, but I have never seen them on the shelf. Either people around here really like their vitamin c, or whoever orders the product for our store doesn’t appreciate a good vitamin deal!

    • Mae

You can request that the manager or store order more. Let them know also that it has been a while without any stock. My local store usually volunteers to order anything I need. 😉

  23. Sandra

Forgot to add, I don’t see it listed in any of the coupon databases. That, combined with the fact that it beeped on the holiday Lysol no-touch, is why I am asking if it looks valid to those of you with more experience than me.

  24. Barbara Yox

The Nature’s Bounty Coupons are a no go. Tried to print that 2/1 from liking them of FB but all it says is that the promotion is over.

  25. debra

Heads up on the Triaminic. I found a tear pad for $2 off each in front of the product.

  26. porsche

The alka seltzer coupon does NOT work. And I couldnt get both brain strong coupons to work here in Mansfield Ohio.

    • darcy

      thanks for letting us know!

  27. Tracy

    I just printed a $2/1 coupon for Ester C ff of coupons.com.

  28. D

Yes, Alka Seltzer does not work for FL either (will only work on regular Alka Seltzer).

  29. Jayna

Its a no go on the Alka Seltzer Plus and using the Walgreens Jan coupon the manager actually looked on his computer I guess some how he can look up exactly what each coupon includes and he said its just the reagular kind. 🙁

  30. Kristen

Alka Seltzer does not work for NW Indiana, either!

  31. Kirsten Klein

The Cetaphil coupon is no longer available.

  32. Alla

Happy New Year to you and your family, Collin and Happy New Year to all my fellow Hipsters and their families. May this year bring joy, love, peace, happiness & success in your everyday lives.
I am so confused with the catalinas I got. I am plannig to purchase the Enfamil/Enfagrow formula and I have 2 catalinas that were printed while ago. Since I never used catalina in Wags before can anyone answer my question please. Can I use the $5.00 printed coupon from internet for the enfamil and the $5.00 catalina also. Is it like an RR or I cannot use them together? Thank you in advance.

  33. Mo

If you are planning to buy the 20.00 worth of Lysol Products. Look for the Disinfectant bonus pack that includes free wipes. Make the deal even sweeter!!

  34. Grace

not sure but was flipping through January coupon book and saw .50 cents coupon for the EOS lip palm that is on sale for 2.99 = 2RR which makes it even sweeter deal

    • Grace

never mind …i read it wrong … sorry

  35. rocio

hi just a quick question i tried to bough some cereal 4/$10.00 try to use 4 0.50 off on them the cashier told me i could only use one because it said one per purchase and the other reason was that they all have the same first number on the barcode is she correct

    • Livvy

No, she is not. Per purchase means per ITEM purchased. So if you buy 4 boxes, you need to use 4 separate coupons. She is confusing “purchase” with “transaction.” Next time, just ask for a manager’s opinion, if you can. She might get annoyed that you’re questioning her, but it’s saving you money and educating her at the same time so she’s doesn’t put someone else through the same thing.

      • rocio

thats what i though but she even went to asked the manager and she said the same thing ,im just going to try another walgreens …i had the same problem with cvs on the buy one get one free of the skinny cow chocolate bars they wouldnt accept them …i guess people dont like giving away free stuff still dont get it why would they lol

  36. Alex

Thank you for your hard work, Collin. The Walgreens posting on TheKrazyLady have suffered lately, so I look forward even more to your matchups for this store each week!

  37. Taraneh

i think in terms of the B1G1 on the vitamins, if you’re not buying the $30 worth in order to get the resistance band kit at walgreens you might as well be purchasing from CVS since it counts towards your quarterly spending and you’ll get more back when the rewards come around

  38. Amanda

Hey did find a b1g1 coupon in my ss 1/1 for the slimfast 4 pk to make a better deal on the 4 pks w/ your $1.50 off Coupon. Great job on the match ups to u and ur sidekicks. Love ur site!! It is so my fav

  39. Jan

Help! I just realized I have 4 RR’s that expired. Does anyone know if any Wags in the Greenville, SC area take expired RR. Thanks!

  40. serena

The 1.50 off general mills is gone.

  41. Jen

I also couldn’t use two Brainstrong coupons. It only took 1 $5 off. It does clearly state 1 per customer. It came out to 2 for around $7.

  42. jose

will there be a book like the
    infant care book

  43. Jamie

Also if you use the slim fast BOGO coupon from Sunday’s paper and combine it with 2 $1.50/1 coupon you can get 2 4 packs for $1.99!!!

  44. angel5085

I didn’t get the $3/1 Q for the triaminic, but walgreens has a tearpad for
$2/1 product. I bought 2 pkgs of the strips, used 2- $2/1, and pd $6. Then got back $5 RR, making them $.50 each. Woo woo 🙂

  45. Serena Creedy

To make this deal even better my Walgreens had free lysol wipes attached to the disinfectant spray which equals 4 items for $7!!
Spend $20 on Participating Mucinex or Lysol Products = $6 RR
Buy 2 Lysol No-Touch hand soap systems 8.5 oz $8
Buy 1 Lysol disinfectant spray 12.5 oz $4
    Total = $20
Use the 2 $3/1 Lysol coupons found in the 1/1 SS
Use the $1/1 Lysol coupon found in the 1/1 SS
    Pay $13
    Get back a $6 RR
Final cost $7 for all 3!

  46. Ryan

    Colin,

So you know, I was able to use the “back” button 3 times to print the Sudafed coupon 4 times!!

    • Mae

Ryan… hey thank’s for letting others know about that–that’s awesome.

  47. susan

I was in Wags today (1/4) They had Axe “gift sets” on clearance regularly $6.99 on sale for $3.49. I was able to use the $3 holiday set coupon (no beep!!!!)… I paid $.52 after tax! 🙂
    Susan

    • kelley

susan, where did you get the $3 holiday set coupon to use on the Axe?

  48. Becky

Darn. I was hoping to score the free melatonin deal but none of the stores by me carry it in stock. 🙁 Has anyone else looked for it? My store only has the 60 count and it’s twice as much!

    • Amanda

I went to 2 stores and neither have ANY melatonin! They only carry like 6 different things by Sundown Naturals, whereas the CVS stores seem to carry the entire line! I was sad because I really wanted to get melatonin for my husband to try.

      • Mae

Hi Amanda, you might check out trader joes–they have awesome prices on suppliments and without the added toxins that most other sups include. I hear they have a chewable option. I luv melatonin, and the moment I run out of the ones that cost me nothing, I’ll be headed straight to TJ’s. 😉 HTH

        • Amanda

Thanks, Mae. My coworker is always telling me not to buy vitamins and supplements from drug stores! She always buys from Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s or online, but she pays for it as well.

Went to Walgreens and bought the lean cuisine as part of the $20 for $5 rr and got the RR plus another coupon for $2 off when you buy 8. Also the cashier was great. I am new to the couponing and she walked me through it and made suggestions because she herself is a couponer. What a great day:)
