Haha! Totally agree. I hear they’re so comfy and good for your feet – and I’m sure it’s true, but it still feels a little weird every time I see them.
I tried on a pair of these just for the heck of it last week when I was out shopping and they feel AWFUL! Two other gals trying them on said the same thing. Just too weird for me.
I have a pair, that I’ve had for a year now. I can’t run longer than three miles in them, but if you wear them for a couple of hours each day, your feet will get used to them. They aren’t the comfiest the first go-around!
These are the scariest shoes I’ve ever seen. LOL! Hopefully they are comfy.
Hahaha. I have these shoes and love them. If you wear heels a lot, they wouldn’t be for you. Heels shorten the ligaments in your feet, so these would be really uncomfortable. But, if you are into flats, Vibrams really feel like going around barefoot. They are fantastic for hiking and river sports (kayaking, etc…). My husband is so excited to be getting a new pair. He wore his last ones totally out and we couldn’t find another sale.
Too bad it’s just mens–I want a pair, and my boyfriend already has some
unless you have super tiny feet you can wear mens. I prefer the mens VFF over the women’s, myself. But I wear size 10, so that works for me.
I’m waiting for a deal (or until I can save up) for a new pair of Bikilas, for running. I’ve been lower back pain and shin splint free since switching to VFFs (since 2007) and Crocs for every day wear. They aren’t the cutest, but for me they eliminate pain so I’ll wear ’em 🙂

When all 3 of my children were born the first thing I asked was if they had webbed toes…..they don’t. Haha. He says he can swim in circles because they are only webbed on one foot.

I have webbed toes and can’t wear these either!! Instead, I found a brand called Sockwa, which makes a model called the G2 that I have been running in for almost a year — I absolutely LOVE them. (And the company has great customer service, too, and often has discounts.)

Do you know if they run small/large or true to size?
you need to actually measure your foot with a ruler and base the size on the longest toe (which isn’t necessarily your big toe!)

These are not for everyone and take some getting used to, as you will walk slightly differently in them (not to mention the toe thing(: ). Everyone I know that has them loves them. And if nothing else, REI is a wonderful company and I would always recommend purchasing from them.

I absolutely LOVE these shoes! Both my husband and I wear them and they have helped us both with our running times, and overall feet health. They may not look very stylish, but I don’t mind because they really help me with my running and overall exercise. I could wear these all day! And Susie, I couldn’t agree with you more!
I have a teenage son who likes to go barefoot, even when it is cold out, I wonder IF these shoes would be something he’d love & would actually wear shoes because he wanted to & not because we told him to wear shoes.

I agree. I have 3 pairs and they are my everyday shoes. i LOVE them and hate wearing traditional shoes. on sundays i wear heels or boots and my feet are literally killing when i leave church. i kinda like the way they look…and they’re great for making random friends too…i actually have one leg that is about 1+ inches longer than the other and was having constant hip & lower back problems (did years of physical therapy) and and these really help. they took me a solid week of wearing them (everyday, all day) before i got used to them, my calves hurt during that time. by far one of the best investments i’ve made for my well being.
I love mine! I wouldn’t go back to regular running shoes if you paid me!!

Has anyone received their shoes yet? We got the pair I ordered for my husband today and they have reddish brown stains on tnem near the toes. We are avid buyers of Vibram Five fingers and have never had this problem before. I am extremely dissapointed and will be contacting customer service asap.
I have the same issue. I assumed they had something to do with the manufacturing/glue around the toes. Were you able to find out anything about the stains?
