LOL! me too! I personalized a card for a baby shower. The baby shower was last week and I, for the life of me, could not find the card. I must have put it in one of those “safe” places that was a little too safe. Ooops! Time for a designated “card” spot near the stockpile.
A few years ago I bought a greeting card organizer (that came with a bunch of cards in it) from Meijer. It’s just cardboard, but it has held up really nicely and it was worth the price…although I’m sure I got it on sale ;)…I highly recommend one – maybe that could be a good gift for Mother’s Day!
A few years back, Hallmark had a wonderful deal in their stores selling a greeting card book organizer. I got one with a coupon, so it was free. I basically has each month and date and you write the person’s name on a line (ie: November 2 – Mom’s Birthday). Then as I make these free cards, you can insert them into the slot for storage. I keep it right in my drawer in the kitchen and review it each week quickly so I don’t forget anyone’s date. Easy to make one too out of folders and a 3 ring binder.

I tried to make a card other than mother’s day, since I already have a card for my mom. It did not accept the LUVMOM card for that item to make it a free card. Did anybody else have the same problem? Maybe I’m doing something wrong, since it always worked in the past. thanks marcie
Yes, it only allows you to create a free MD card.

There are multiple cards with just a drawing on the front (hummingbird, ladybugs, etc.)– you can remove the inside bit about Mother’s day and make it blank on the inside.

Found the perfect card and then can’t change any of the stupid words on the inside! UGH! I know it is free but it most certainly makes me appreciate Shutterfly!
You should be able to delete the text inside the card (it’s the last option on the “viewing inside” section). If you’re mailing it yourself, you can always order it blank and write whatever you’d like on the inside when it comes to you. I just ordered a “general” mother’s day card (one with a humming bird on the front) that I intend to use for a different occasion.

It can only be used on Mother’s Day cards. I found 2 with no words on the front that still counted. I purchase the one with the little birds. I already received a free card for my mother from another similar promotion.

I did the same thing! (see my 11.1 comment to Cindy) I ordered the humming bird card and removed the inside text. It was either that one or the card with two lady bugs.
There is also one titled: Pink Black Butterfly, with purple flowers in background. I’m contemplating that. And it is completely customizable, photos optional.

This is the first time I have even done the free card, but for some reason the code is not working. The website is saying the code is not valid. Any suggestions would be great.
Make sure you are ordering from Mother’s day cards selections. The code will not work on other kids of greeting cards.

It keeps bypassing the code entry screen for me and tells me my order has been placed. Even though it has not. Anyone else?
Always sign in before you create the card and it won’t do that. however, i forgot this time and it said the same thing to me. once i logged in, I then clicked view cart and it was in there and proceeded checkout as normal.
Since I already have mothers day cards for our mothers, I let my kids pick one out for me. 🙂 Easier than taking them to the store. They thought it was fun and it was free. Love that!
Hi everyone. Just FYI… This code is valid until 5/6. If you want cardstore to ship it directly to your mom, you could wait a few days it arrives closer to mother’s day. (That’s what I’m doing) 😉
