It seems that those refillable K-Cups don’t work in this model.

    • Toma

The my k-cup refillable k-cup on their website says it is compatible with all keurig brewers. I’d really like to know for sure. Does anyone have any ideas on this?

      • Toma

Reviews on amazon indicate it doesn’t work.๐Ÿ˜ž

I have this brewer and correct, the refillable DOESN’T work in this model. There are two small tabs that the normal holder has slots cut out of it, so it well fit in. If one used a little ingenuity, you probably cut them off so your refillable would work, but if you’re giving it as a gift and you’re only using single serves pods, it fits the bill just fine.

I dont use the refill, dont think it works well or tastes as good as kcups

    • Asmith

Try an espresso roast in refillable k cup.

      • Brenda

Can you use any standard coffee in the refill containers?

      • Megan

I agree. I like a dark strong roast in the refillable and I think it makes much stronger coffee. I can actually brew a larger cup when I do that without the coffee tasting watered down.

      • Leisa

how much do you put in?

        • Megan

I have the ekobrew refillable cup (I highly recommend getting two so you can let one cool off and dry out a bit which will make it easier to empty while you use the other). I fill it to within a 1/4 inch of the top or so. I think there is a “fill line” marked on the inside. I like strong coffee so if you like weaker coffee, you could probably use less. Also I brew a 10 oz cup when I use the refillable, but only an 8 oz when I use a kcup. Hope that helps! ๐Ÿ™‚

          • Leisa

Thanks Megan, i have a refill that came with the maker, but dont like it well. I will have to try the other one

I don’t understand the allure of these machines. K-cups are extremely expensive!

    • Emily

No, they arent. Get the kcups on sale and its not bad.

      • melissa

we have a larger one and we buy the kcups when they are on sale and then we also use the refillable one with our regular ground coffee. Im not a coffee drinker but my husband LOVES its and claims the cup of coffee is just soo much better. When a deal does come around, we make sure we stock up. Its also an easy gift around christmas and birthday time when people ask me what he wants! just get him kcups!!

Any idea where to buy the cheapest k-cups? Thanks!

    • Erica Shover

I buy at Bed Bath and Beyond and use coupons, either the 20% or % dollar off 15. Using those I can get K cups for 9.95 a box, cheapest I have found ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Leisa

i have got the k cups at Khols when they are on sale and with the % off. Not great prices but convenience and my husband likes it

Are these decent? I am doing a demo of this model this weekend and next. I also get to keep the one I am demoing.

    • mary

I think it depends on what your needs & expectations are. This model will only make one 8 oz cup at a time and has no water reservoir. The re-usable filter can’t be used with this device only K-cups. If you prefer to have more options available, then I would recommend a full size model instead of this one. This device might be good for the occasional coffee drinker or someone who travels a lot.

      • Melony

I don’t drink coffee or tea that often but my husband drinks coffee (though he prefers whole beans most of the time vs ground coffee.). There are only two of us so it would make sense to give it away to someone who might use it.
        Thanks! ๐Ÿ™‚

        • Sophie's Dish

Since you are thinking of giving it away…I’ll definately take it and pay some money/shipping for it. I’m looking for affordable gift for my mother this holiday.

Actually, I am demoing the platinum one (not the one pictured) and it is illegal to make money off of items that were used for demos.
