I got 2 in the past year & both broke. Gevalia wasn’t willing to replace either of them. Coffee is good but that’s about it.
My mom has one & it works just fine for a carafe coffeemaker. I have owned 2 Cuisuinart makers that pour directly into the cup, over $100 & they lasted at most 3 yrs. My mom’s has lasted for several yrs so go figure. I bought a $9.99 Mr. Coffee from Kohls this 3rd time around. I do invest in good quality coffee & I think THAT is what makes the difference. Folgers tastes like Folgers if made in $9 coffeemaker or $99 coffeemaker. Gevalia coffee is pretty decent, so it is a great deal if you like their coffee. I wouldn’t buy it just for the coffee maker though.
Gevalia.com sells it for $59.95, but that price seems outrageous. It has good reviews.
I stopped using my Gevalia; it was having problems filling the carafe without leaks;
I tried brewing with the carafe lid removed, but that did not solve the issue.
The coffee alone is worth the $9.99
I got a different (stainless steel) coffeemaker free from Gevalia about a year ago and it stopped working within 7 months and they were unwilling to replace it (even though it comes with a one-year warranty) even after 5 phone calls from me over a period of several months. I basically just got a run-around from them. I was very disgusted with their customer service.

An average bag you do see at the Grocery store is 8 oz, just to give you an idea of the size of bag/box you will get-coffee usually goes by the tablespoon- See below:
Weak coffee: 1 level tablespoon of ground coffee to 1 measuring-cup of water (1/2 pint)
Medium coffee: 1 rounding or 2 level tablespoons of ground coffee to 1 measuring-cup of water.
Strong coffee: 3 level tablespoons of ground coffee to 1 measuring-cup of water.
There will be alot of cups of coffee in each bag/box!

i wanted to cancel too and couldn’t do it online so i called their customer service number. i was on hold for 20 minutes and when i finally talked to someone she kept pressuring me to continue my auto deliveries. it was very annoying. she went on and on even though i firmly told her no. it was such a headache.
I did this years ago and I LOVED the coffee! When I cancelled, I told them my husband asked me to do so (true story!) and that it wasn’t in the budget, although I raved about the coffee. The girl did it immediately for me, no questions.

How soon after purchasing can you cancel?
hey everyone dont try calling them. everyone i talked when i called was mean and rude. i wont buy there coffee again.
I have been a Gevalia member off and on for about 20 yrs. If money got tight, I just canceled. Never had a problem. I usually just write a note on the bill or invoice to cancel and send it to them. I once heard that companies need cancelations in writing. I have gotten several decent coffee makers, thermal cups and once a really nice ceramic coffee canister. I would recommend them.
Just received the coffee maker and 4 boxes of coffee today! It’s a nice coffee maker, nothing super fancy but neither was our older one that we replaced. Totally worth it, plus the three boxes of coffee (8oz each) are a great bonus!

I have been a member twice, the first time I got a neat little set-two travel mugs and a nice coffee maker that pours into each one (or only one if that is what you choose). Very nice coffee maker, I also got two boxes of coffee. The coffee maker was broken by my daughter about three weeks after I got it and I called them, they sent out a replacement free of charge even tho it was my daughter who broke it. It has been four years and it still runs. Then I cancelled (no hassle) and started again three months later got another free coffee maker (very nice quality but a standard instead of one that drips into the cups) got four boxes of coffee and two ceramic mugs. All in all I would recommend them. I have never had any problems with them and when I called to cancel both times they tried to keep me (the second time they even sent me more free coffee) but they didn’t pressure me horribly or anything.
I keep adding it to my cart, but then it says its empty. Anyone else having problems?

Good idea, LeAnn! For the record, though I can’t vouch for the coffee maker, their coffee is wonderful! I have always had excellent customer service and have loved every coffee I’ve ever tried from them (all the flavored ones). The 4 bags of coffee are well worth the $9.99 (especially with no s/h) and I’m selling my [new] coffee maker at a garage sale (I don’t need a new one and that will get me some of the money back, making my coffee even cheaper, and someone gets a new coffeepot for cheap).
Selling the coffee maker is exactly what I am going to do too!

I was charged $10.99 as well. The order is still in the processing stage (ordered Wednesday early afternoon). I wonder if it is worth the hassle to call and just cancel. I am concerned about the customer service complaints.

I tried going through Shop at Home and couldn’t find the $9.99 deal. There was one for $24.99 but a different coffee maker. If I go through Collin’s link the $9.99 deal is still available.
I can’t seem to get past the screen that reads “Just added to cart”…there is no way to get out of that screen/pop-up so I can’t continue t the payment screen????

I see a lot of people complaining about the coffeemaker. I say stop it! really. you are getting it (coffeemaker) for free, (if you order previously you got it for cheaps) be lucky you get a coffeemaker at all.

I got this deal today, but it was kind of confusing checking out, I think it took me like three tries and then it never “confirmed my order” so I had tried to order it many times and it wasn’t going through but i checked my paypal and it did order it, I would have had a lot of them if I hadn’t just payed ebay lol
