“Just wanted to share this piece of information.  So I decided for the first time in a long while to check my Rewards account for the heck of it.  I haven’t purchased a thing from there since maybe last year.  Well to my surprise, I found a $5 Certificate waiting for me that was issued a week ago but expires on July 1st!  Wow, don’t know how or why but I have to wonder if Best Buy is sending these out randomly to it’s Member’s.  So just an FYI to others out there to check out there account for a possible surprise as well ๐Ÿ™‚

Come back and let us know if you also received this nice surprise in your account!

(Thanks, Cesar!)

No such luck! But it says you have to have 250 points to get a $5 certificate! Have they ever done extra certificates randomly before?

    • mel

yes, I’ve gotten them before. I actually got a mailer today saying to ck my online account for the $5 bonus certificate along with a triple points coupon

  2. Melony

I got one and haven’t been there in a year.

  3. Yen

Gasp! Points expire annually! I didn’t know that so far I’ve had 30 pts expire within the last year. This means unless I spend atleast $250 annually at best buy my points will probably start to expire on their 1 year aniversary. ๐Ÿ™

  4. Adrienne B.

We’ve got one! Woohoo! But, how do I redeem it? It says I have no certificates to print???

    • Brit

just scroll down to “my rewards cert.” and click on “print rewards cert.”

      • Adrienne B.

It says I have 250 points ($5), but zero certificates to print ?????

        • Adrienne B.

It says I have to have 1000 points to print the certificate….so can’t use this $5 right now. ๐Ÿ™

        • Lynn

You should try to change your certificate preference level to print certificates once you reach the 250 point level.

  5. Brit

    IT WAS there! THANX!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. Ebony

    Nothing for me either ๐Ÿ™

  7. Melissa

I received a mailing today from Best Buy saying that the $5 reward was for Premier Silver members only and I have one in my account

  8. Lynn

I got the mailer too. If you did get the rewards certificate it would pair nicely with the $4.99 Blu-ray deal from yesterday. I should’ve waited until today to buy my movies. Oh well. I could use my certificate towards something else. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Elise

You can take your receipt back to the store and they will give you the $5.

      • Lynn

Great! I’ll try that. Thank you.

  9. Susan D

I got one too…great surprise! Thanks for the heads up, I would have missed it!

  10. Kendra Mefford Stuart

    Yup! I had one, too!

  11. barbara

    got one whoo hoo

  12. Lisa

Says I only have 69 points, but . . . there was a $15 certificate that expires 9/2012. Thank you!! I would have never checked.

  13. Shannon

thanks for sharing I got one too

  14. Sunny

Best Buy’s “rewards” program is a joke! $5 in rewards for spending $250?!? The only time I get certificates is when they feel generous or I call customer service with a complaint. Unfortunately they werent feeling generous this time…

    • sheryl

Sad….they do not owe us anything in rewards….it’s extra.

  15. Sarah

Has anyone else had them not credit their points correctly?? We spent almost $500 there in May buying me a new laptop and it only shows that we spent $18??!?!?

    • fran

Read the fine print of their rewards policy. I know Office Depot doesn’t give rewards on computers, so maybe Best Buy has the same policy.

    • Karrie

I bought a new computer around Memorial Day weekend and my account says that I have 720 pending points to be awarded 30-35 days after the sale.

    • Ruby

Also if you use the Best Buy credit card yOu don’t get the points until you finish paying off the product

      • sheryl

This did not happen for us….we bought all new appliances and printed the certificate a month later and i assure you, it’s not paid off!

    • Lori

If you don’t think they posted the points correctly, just send a quick email. I have
had to do that twice, and they are always very nice and give me the points
      very quickly.

    • Sarah

The sales guy told us about the program as we were buying the computer and said that the laptop WOULD count……and we paid with a gift card not their credit card………I guess I will have my husband email them to find out what is going on since it’s his account……

  16. Karen

Thanks. I bought a camera a month ago and had no idea I had to go on line to find my reward certificate. It was there and I printed it…yeah!

  17. alwaysashley03

Well that’s a bummer! I spent a good bit of money there and didn’t get the $5 reward!

  18. Sasha

Yeppy! I printed out the $5.00 coupon from Best Buy. Thanks for reminding us!

  19. Karrie

    I received one too!

  20. Beverly

    Nothing in my account. ๐Ÿ™

  21. Janelle W.

Wow! That’s awesome! I didn’t have one the last time around, but this time I do and I would have completely missed it!

  22. Heather

    I got mine!! =)

  23. Emilytwinmom

I have never once received a certificate from them, and my hubby and I each have a reward zone card. I stopped using mine years ago! I keep checking tho!!!

  24. Jill

    I got one! Thank you.

  25. LC

nothin’ here ๐Ÿ™ poop….great for those who got it though!

  26. Aaron

Best Buy’s Reward Zone is an absolutely ridiculous joke!! I’ve been a member for 15 years, and have never seen a single benefit from it! Now, I buy most of my electronics from other places because they don’t limit you to specific models/options as much, and they are waaay cheaper. However, I bought a high-end TV, blu-ray player and other stuff and Best Buy this year totaling over $4000, and all I have received is a $5 reward zone coupon! Absolutely ridiculous, and not worth the effort of whipping out a damn reward zone card every time I come in! Plus, they have personally identifiable information on me that I’m sure they’re selling to other companies for a profit! Really pisses me off!!

I’m a Walmart/Walmart.com shopper now! They never pull these types of stunts and always have consistently low pricing!!
