If you’re new to Swagbucks, here are a few ways to earn Swagbucks…

* Searching the web
If yours is a winning search, you will see a “Congratulations” screen featuring your Swag Bucks award immediately above your search results; you will never be directed away from your search. You can win multiple Swag Bucks every day; Swag Bucks can be won in denominations ranging from 1 – 1,000.

Each survey that you chose to engage with may have a different Swag Bucks payout. Snag 1 Swag Buck per day just for heading over to the Survey page!

* Voting in Daily Polls
Snag 1 Swag Buck per day for voting in the daily poll.

* Watching videos
Swag Bucks are awarded randomly via Swag Bucks TV. Not every video you watch will earn you Swag Bucks, but just like Swag Bucks search, every video you watch is a chance to earn.

* Completing Special Offers
To ensure that an offer has been completed, follow the instructions provided for each individual offer. The offer needs be completed in the same session and all information required to complete the offer MUST be accurate. The majority of offers will credit your Swag Bucks account within 20 minutes. However, the estimated wait time varies from offer to offer. Some may take a few hours or a couple of days before final confirmation is received.

*Playing Games
Swagbucks recently released FREE Swagbucks Games… find a game you like, play for free AND you’ll be eligible to earn bonus Swag Bucks just for playing!! There are two ways to be rewarded for playing games (1) Play games for free and you will randomly earn from 1-5 Swag Bucks (2) Buy into tournaments where you risk a small amount of Swag Bucks for the chance to earn a large amount. Just login or register and click on the “Earn” tab, then in the drop down menu choose “Games”.

Swag Codes are strings of alphanumeric text that you can apply for instant Swag Bucks. Swag Codes can appear anywhere, and at any time, throughout the Swag Bucks network including the Swagbucks newsletter, any Swag Bucks powered Search&Win Site; the Official Swag Bucks blog, Facebook Fan Page, Twitter page, Flickr page; and affiliated partner sites. You may be wondering, how can I use my Swagbucks or what can I purchase?

Swag Bucks can be used to purchase apparel, kitchen items, electronics, gift cards and lots more in the Swag Store! My personal favorite item is a $5 Amazon e-Card for only 450 Swag Bucks!  Plus, other rewards include gift cards to Chili’s, Starbucks (another favorite!), Lowes, Target, Kmart, CVS, Red Robin, Dell, Lands’ End, and many more!

Happy Searching! :)

How does this compare to the Bing search rewards? Does anybody know if you can do both simultaneously? Bing search engine offers 1 ‘credit’ per 2 Bing searches. There aren’t as many rewards to choose from, but when you reach Gold status (not too hard) then Amazon $5 cards are 475 points.

    Thanks!

    • mel says:

hitting a search win on SB is hit or miss. yesterday I did a few random searches and no wins. While on Wed 3 searches resulted in 3 wins (7sb, 10sb, 7sb)
I have my computer set up so that it automatically goes to SB when I do a search. IDK if you can do SB & Bing at the same time.

  • rae says:

I don’t know anything about Bing but from what you said it sounds like Swagbucks is a little more involved than Bing. There are so many ways to get points for Swagbucks not just searching.

  • Kathy says:

Thanks. I will check into it. I forgot to mention that with Bing, you only get 10-20 credits per day max, plus maybe a few bonus credits.

  • Vera says:

I used to be very big into Swagbucks. I used to get a lot of bucks for purchases on Groupon, etc. Now things have changed drastically.

You can get swagbucks for shopping with their recommended vendors. Unfortunately, I made several large purchases through Swagbucks and didn’t get my points. I had to write several letters, but in the end, they did not help me. So I’ve quit wasting my time with them.

I’ve got better ways to spend my time. It’s just not with them.

    • animity says:

I have had the worst luck with them lately too. As soon as I get 50 more ponits to get the amazon card and I am done with them. Like you, why waste my time.

  • Kathy says:

Thanks for your answers. I just registered with SwagBucks. It looks like you can’t do Bing and SwagBucks at the same time, though. I don’t know which one I will stick with, yet. Bing is definitely less involved. I signed up for it exactly three months ago and have gotten four $5 Amazon giftcards. With Bing, though, I think the number of credits you can earn per day (credits only via searches, 1 credit per 2 searches) may decrease to 10 eventually (so far I’ve been offered up to 10-20/day, mostly 20).

  • Angie says:

I stopped using swagbucks because it caused problems with my computer. I took it to the tech dept at my work and the man said not to use it.

  • Andrea says:

Swagbucks ruined my computer too. Viruses and malware everywhere. That said, the rewards are pretty easy to get, but it is time consuming. I watch the videos at work to get points and the surveys are easy, but most of special offers are either for purchase or just SPAM your email and want a lot of personal information. I avoid those.

  • mel says:

well, yeah it is easy when they have thousands of referrals, but that doesn’t do anything unless the referrals are active at getting search wins. Unless they get a credit for each person that signs up??
I have 10 referrals, and only 2 are active, the other 8 are at 0. I think the max is 1,000 SB per referral. But anyway, I take 1 hr a day to do SB. I try to hit all the special offers, hopefully complete a survey, maybe do a task. I print all coupons.com through SB (10 pts per each cpn redeemed, which adds up quick!) In a months time, I usually have enough to cash out for 5 $5 Amazon GC ($25) or 2 $10 CVS e-GCs. So it works for me!

  • Rene says:

Colin doesn’t need your Swagbuck referral. She is just telling everyone what is out there. I have saved thousands of $$ because of this site, and have never had a bad experience. What offers you act on is up to you.

  • Melissa says:

Swagbucks put a virus on my computer, or enabled one to be put on my computer. When I researched them a bit more on ‘Google’, there were many similar cases to mine. Also, Swagbucks won’t delete itself from my Web Browsing History. I contacted them regarding these issues and have received silence in response. My advice, STAY AWAY FROM SWAGBUCKS.

  • Ariana says:

So far I really like Swagbucks. In a months time I have gotten a $50 paypal card.

  • Kelly says:

I’ve been doing Swagbucks for almost a year with only one referal and have earned over $200 in Amazon gift cards from it. The only time I’ve had problems with virus warnings was from videos. I’m also using Superpoints to get a couple more. For me it is worth the time since it will basically paying for Christmas this year. If anyone would like an invite for Superpoints you can click on the link below.

  • Sally says:

I think Swagbucks is a great reward program. You need to be smart about it. My husband a computer geek and he advised against installing the toolbar (or any other program like that). You can still search through their website.
What they are doing is collecting data from you to sell to other companies. Even facebook collects this kind of data to show you ads that are relevant to what you are interested in.
If you use Swagbucks, don’t give away too much personal information and be wary of anything that asks you to install programs. There are plenty of other ways to earn that are less risky, like printing and using coupons, surveys, shopping, watching videos, and other small things. You won’t get rich that way, but every little bit helps!

  • Alicia says:

Sally is right. You don’t have to “install” Swagbucks. You either search through their search engine or you don’t. You can install the toolbar if you want but you don’t have to. I just use it as a search engine to go to all the websites I always go to and do their silly polls. It is about the least amount of effort, but it still gets me $5 cards for basically selling my search info.

  • Jessica says:

As with what some others have said previous this Swagbucks majorly messed up my computer!! I have a fairly new MacBook Pro and had downloaded Swagbucks. Everything went completely terrible on my computer and I had never had any problems with it before! I’m fairly good with computers so even with it acting crazy I managed to get Swagbucks off my computer after hours of attempts! I was disappointed that it didn’t really work due to the rewards some people say they have gotten but I’d much rather have a computer that works and pass on Swagbucks than one that doesn’t work at all !! So just be careful when considering downloading it! I think Collin uses a MacBook as well so I’m not sure if it depends on the version or whether you use Safari or Firefox, but for me on Safari it was terrible!! To risky for me to try on Firefox but I am happy for all that can use Swagbucks with no problems!!

  • bali says:

yeah don’t install the toolbar! I’m just using the browser to search a couple of random things per day, until I win some points, then i go back to using google. I don’t do their surveys or videos or whatnot, so it’s slow earning points, but easy enough.

  • Abby says:

People, DON’T INSTALL THE TOOLBAR! You can search from the website!!! DON’T download anything!

  • Jen says:

Does anyone have an active SwagCode? Thanks!

  • Kari says:

I have been using swagbucks for 2 years in November and I have earned $350 in amazon giftcards. I have never downloaded anything from them nor do I buy anything to get the swagbucks. I just do the videos, a survey once in awhile, daily poll, searches, and I do have 1 active referral. Adds up quickly. It has paid for my daughter’s diapers, our 12′ x 30″ swimming pool, all chemicals, kcups, etc.

  • Rachel says:

So i just tried to order a amazon gift card from them and it now requires a cell # for account verification. It has never done this before and i really dont want to give them my number. Anyone else having this issue too?

    • Kimberly says:

I ordered one today and wasn’t asked to do anything but verify either with my security question or my email?

      • Rachel says:

Weird. I have tried several times and can’t get passed the page that wants me to enter my phone. So frustrating!!

        • fran says:

Rachel, I just had the same thing. What you need to do is follow the link that you don’t have a cell phone and let them know that you either don’t have a cell phone or don’t want to give your number. They will send you an email to let you know that they will send you a postcard with a pin # that you will then have to email the pin # to them when it arrives via snail mail.

  • angela says:

So if you have installed the toolbar on a mac, how do you get rid of it?

    • fran says:

Do you know how to uninstall a program? You would uninstall the toolbar the same way. I can walk you through it. Do you have IE on mac? I don’t know anything about mac.

      • angela says:

Thanks for your offer to help. I really appreciate it. I think I got it uninstalled and my husband is going to double check it tonight. I also had to remove the search bar for swag bucks as well.

        • fran says:

You’re welcome! Glad you were able to uninstall it.
If you still do SBs, you can search from the home page now. GL ;-)

  • April says:

I used to think Swagbucks was a great way to earn something while doing what you already do (searches)….. but they just randomly deactivated my account. They said I was in violation of their terms of agreement. I emailed them hoping to get help and they wrote back and said their decision was final. I have been Swagbucking since last September. I loaded most of my gift cards right on to my amazon account…. but when they closed my account I had a few…only like $15 that I had not claimed. It’s upsetting since it took me a long time to get those. I have always told everyone to use them….NOT ANYMORE. I DO NOT RECOMMEND SWAGBUCKS……..because I don’t want anyone to go through what I did. It was not fair. I did nothing wrong….REALLY! And they wouldn’t even look into it or communicate with me. It’s not worth your time.

    • fran says:

April, just a suggestion, try to contact them again and tell them you don’t understand this and you did nothing wrong, and it’s not fair you have to lose your $15, they may reconsider. GL ;)

  • Jodi Stevens says:

How much and how fast do you earn at Swagbucks?
Will I earn there faster than at Gifthulk? I have already got from them more than $200 in a couple of month.

  • Kayla says:

Is it free? Is it hard to do? I’m just not sure if I should download it or not. Thanks!

  • Anne says:

Here’s our story about how we got a 42″ TV for $99 off Amazon after redeeming, oh, $350 from our Swagbucks points. :)
