I purchased them weeks ago at Staples – 2/$1. Found them in the back of the store in the clearance bins.
I tried to use my coupons yesterday and my Dollar General told me I couldn’t use it because their system wouldn’t allow them to input it since the value of the coupon was the same as the product. Also was informed I wouldn’t have any problem IF I purchased them at regular price versus the sale price.
I usually end up buying a sort of filler item that makes the total not 0.00, like a small .29 bag of chips.
I was told by multiple dollar generals that they sort of ‘get in trouble’ if their transaction total is 0.00
I had other stuff and they still would not take the coupon.. 🙁
My Dollar General wouldn’t let me use my bic coupons either. They told me it was because they were already on sale….so disappointing and so wrong, right?!! I was really looking forward to 4 packages of free pens!!
I gave this coupon to my daughter to get these pens for me since she works right next door to Dollar General and she said that they would not take it because they said that it would make the pens free. So don’t waste your time trying to get this deal or ink and paper printing this coupon.
My Dollar store told me the same thing! I got the coupon but it was a waste of time and ink…I am going to start going to the Family Dollar Store..they had no problem taking my coupon for the Sally Hansen nail polish $2/1 ..it only cost $2 every day!!! so I got it free…it cost $2.50 at the Dollar General Store…also The Dollar General will not let you use one of their in store coupons with a Manufacturer coupon ..they have the $5 off coupon for Friday instead of Sat. also in case you are like me and sometimes forget to check

it didn’t reset for me. It’s not like i need anymore stationary items though. I think I have been able to stock up pretty well over the last couple of weeks with all the pens I could ever want.

It didn’t reset for me either. Between the Target Papermate coupons and the Bic coupons I have plenty of packs of pens that I got for free or next to nothing. I gave a couple of packs to my mil and I was going to give a few to my daughters teacher this week for open house.
Dollar General manager gave me a hard time because she says that they are not allowed to give their items away with coupons. I mentioned that their coupon policy does not state that and then she said I will allow it this time.
Great deal! Like many others that commented, mine also didnt reset but still have plenty Bic pens from previous deals for free! Lucky for those that reset! Great for donating!

those aweseome bic BOLD crystal pens that have been posted about a lot (and that were sold out everywhere when walgreens had them for .49) are regular priced at .97 at Walmart–awesome with this coupon. They are so cute on top of a dollar section pad as a cute little gift!! Way better for .50 each then two free boring blue or red packs 🙂

Question: My $ Gen has big sign that says they accept mfg and internet coupons. When I tried to use my 2 bic pen coupons, they said they could not take them b/c they were from the internet and they could not tell if they were original or copies. I pointed out the sign and they finally took the coupons. Is there anything I can do to make this easier in the future? Thanks
