Here are a couple freebies that you can score at Staples after Staples Rewards (in-store only) through October 20th…

*Staples 2013 Desk Pad Calendar, 22″x 17 $5
Get back $5 in Staples Rewards (limit 2 per promotion, while supplies last)
Final cost FREE!

*Durcell Batteries 16-pk. AA or AAA $10.99
Get back $10.99 in Staples Rewards (limit 2 per week, while supplies last)
Final cost FREE!

Staples Rewards are pretty easy as well! Rewards members earn 10% back in Staples Rewards on all ink & toner purchases, 10% back in Staples Rewards on all case & ream paper purchases, and 10% back in Staples Rewards on all Copy & Print purchases. Staples Rewards are issued monthly when the value of the Reward is at least $10. Monthly balances of less than $10 will roll over each month until the minimum is met for that calendar quarter. If the $10 minimum for the quarter has not been met, the balance will expire at the end of the quarter. Rewards and Recycling Rewards are redeemable for most merchandise in Staples stores, online at www.Staples.com or by phone at 1-800-333-3330 but cannot be redeemed for or applied against taxes, cash, credit remittance, delivery charges, custom printing orders placed online, promotional products, Staples gift cards, third party gift cards, prepaid phone cards, postage stamps, prior purchases, Staples Industrialsm purchases or any purchases made on other provider Web sites.

*Keep in mind that you will NOT receive rewards on these items if you use rewards to pay for them.

If I purchased the 2 packs of batteries last week would I be able to purchase them again this week and still get the rewards?

    • My

Ok, I took a close look at my email and it looks like even if you took advantage of this deal last week you will still be able to do it again this week. It says at the bottom for the battery promotion – “limit 2 per week” as opposed to the desk calender it says – “limit 2 per promotion” Am I reading it correctly?

      • jac

Yep, that’s the way Staples does the battery deal.

  2. Michelle

So if I did this deal last week, I can do it again this week?

  3. Allie

Can you use a coupon on the batteries?

    • Lydia

Allie, you CAN use a coupon on the batteries. But, your rewared will be reduced. Basically, what you pay for it (with or without coupon) is what your reward will be. Example, if you pay $16.99 for the batteries, and use a 75cent off coupon, then your reward will be $16.24. Hope that helps!

      • Lydia

Whoops! I just realized the batteries were 10.99 each! So, basically same scenario! 10.99-.75cents, reward will be 10.24 ๐Ÿ™‚

I can find this deal in this week’s ad. I dont know I should go check it up or not ..

    • Julie

I couldn’t find one in my local add either. It was in last week’s add!

    • Julie

I couldn’t find one in this week’s add either. I know last week it was in the add.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I received this information in an email from Staples with the subject line “$50 coupon! Plus shop this week’s hottest deals.” I wonder if you might find the same email in your spam or trash? Hope that helps! ๐Ÿ˜€

Yes, I see the same info in my email too. But I had a questions last time: are we able to purchase these, get the rewards and then purchase items that qualify for easy rebates with them and still be eligible for those easy rebates? In essence getting most of my money back?

    • jac

Yes, that’s right. You can use rewards to purchase REBATE items and get cash back. If you use rewards to purchase REWARD items you will NOT earn rewards.

Always pay for reward items. Save rewards for rebate items.

      • Chrissy

Is this Staples or Walgreens? =D !

      • Jan

If you use rewards to pay for brand name items with a rebate, you get the entire rebate, but when I used rewards to pay for Staples paper, they deducted the reward from my rebate. When I used rewards to buy the HP photo paper, I got the full rebate back.

        • Lydia

Jan, I’ve never had that happen before. Maybe it was a misprint? Actually a reward not a rebate? I would call Staples if this happens again. Their customer service over the phone is excellent. I once had a substantial reward that I accidentally let expire (close to $50). They reissued it and gave me a couple months to use it ๐Ÿ™‚

I went to my local Staples in SLC Utah to take advantage of this deal yesterday (Wednesday) and there were no signs up near the batteries as they normally are so I asked a clerk. She said the batteries were included last weeks sale but the only the calender was in this weeks ad. Hmmm… Not what MY email said either!!! I think it might be a typo…

    • araaidan

      Geesh! Talk about typos!!!!

    • nicole

same thing here, got the email, went to store and no signs anywhere, asked a clerk and they told me it was last week and not this week. They looked at me like i’m crazy.

      • araaidan

Phew! Thanks for sharing Nicole! Happy to know I’m not going crazy!

  7. Rodina

So has anyone actually had luck doing this deal? My Dad asked me about deals on batteries yesterday because he uses them in radios and lights for hunting. This would be a great stock up for him. I am in Maryland….anyone have any luck anywhere????

    • Jenni Nelson

I did the battery deal yesterday 10/17 at my Staples in Florida. They had the 100% rebate signs up, however I did call the store before I went there to make sure the promotion was still going on and that they had batteries in stock. I also used the check-in feature on the staples application on my IPhone and was shown a $10 off $75 order. I ended up using that as well since I bought 2 battery packs, the calendars, paper, clearance items, and ink.

      • Kim

Rebate or reward? Ad says reward, just want to clarify ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. Heather

I was told by the store that they were honoring the battery offer for the 2nd week. They had photocopied type signs hanging on the batteries with the correct new week’s date in the fine print. It wasnt in the sale paper, but it should be for the 2 weeks. And this is for the emailed REWARDS. Not the post cards that come in the mail or the paypal rebates :-). I usually buy my toilet paper from staples because they always send me coupons for 10.00 off a 30.00 break room purchase. So I will use my battery rewards to buy my toilet paper and get a really good deal :-).
