Does anyone know if you can transfer books from Kindle to Kindle? My son has a regular Kindle and I just bought a Kindle Fire, but it’s for Christmas so we haven’t opened it. I’d like to have it on the Fire, is there any way to transfer it after we get the Fire going?

Yes, you can transfer it. It will be in your “library” and as long as your devices are connected to the same amazon account you can access them from any device.

I heard that you need to download them to the new device from your Amazon account. DRM is like a lock that is put on each file and the specific Kindle is the key. Each Kindle must have it’s own version of the file. This is to prevent you from sharing a book with 5000 of your Facebook friends.
