Plenty of adults abusing it as well, unfortunately. At the very least, I hate seeing them on the counter with chewing gum as if they’re just as “safe.” (When some fireworks were legalized in my state a few years ago, a neighbor shot them off all night for weeks, terrifying my kid. When I approached her, she said “I was just so excited, I had no idea these were safe for kids until I saw them in the grocery store!” umm… can you not read!?) 13,000 ER visits in one year due to these ridiculous energy drinks means something– perhaps not a ban, but clearly we need bigger (or simpler) warnings.

Agree! People if you can’t sleep, work out, get excersize. No excuse. It only takes 10-20 minutes bare minimum. Get out from in front of the TV and get outside and play with your kids or dogs. Maybe eat better and cut back on sugar and caffine intake thru out the day. I guarantee you, you will sleep better! And then guess what?? You sleep better, you have more energy the next day! Then you can eliminate both products! LOL!

WRONG! I exercise 5 days a week (boxing, turbokick, interval training, etc.), am 136 lbs at 5’9″, and have been an insomniac for 25 years. I don’t eat much sugar and I stay away from caffeine. No doctor has been able to help with my insomnia, and these are doctors across three different states. Why don’t you put yourself in someone else’s place before you spout off “No excuse”?

Bigger warnings??? If people really don’t get that shooting loads of caff into their body is bad, well, a bigger warning won’t help. My proof: cigarettes.
I can pretty much guarantee that 95-98% of all ER visits are A) kids who shouldn’t be drinking them B) adults with conditions like heart defect that shouldn’t be using them C) people who exceed the recommended amount per day or D) drama queens.
Trust me, go volunteer in the ER for 12 hrs. It’s ridiculous.
