  • Holly Marie says:

Thanks, I’m pretty sure I am already signed up as I shop there on the regular! But I signed up again to make sure. :)

  • Hunter515 says:

Poor JC Penny…. they’re trying so hard to stop their downward slide. It’s too bad.

    • Suzy says:

I watched an interesting interview on The CBS morning show with the new CEO who is from Apple. I think he is really going to turn this company around– or die trying.

    • Katy says:

I agree!!! I thought for sure Ellen could perk them back up… :-(

      • Kara says:

It’s their own fault, they never should’ve switched to that new strategy…people like the idea of “thinking” they got a good deal even if they didn’t. That’s why all those promos, cash backs, sales, and coupons from other stores work. If they hadn’t tried to mess with that a year ago, they wouldn’t be in trouble now! I’m glad they are starting to reintroduce some of that stuff…

        • SMDC says:

They were already in trouble… which is why they switched to the new strategy. So the “new” strategy isn’t why they are in a downward slide…

  • Sharon says:

I hope they have BIG news, it seems like they are on a downward spiral!

  • Tim Fisher says:

Any chance you might know a hint of what these big surprises are?! :D

  • Heather says:

Anyone hear what those “big surprises” might be? Can’t be better than this button magic going on :0) I can’t begin to explain the help all this free stuff has been in preperation for Christmas!

    • Lydia says:

How do you get multiple buttons? I only got one when I was in there a week or so ago. Is it one per purchase? One per item? Do you just ask for them??? thanks in advance

      • Ashley says:

I went to a few registers and just asked. When I redeemed a certificate, the lady didn’t give me another button. All the registers were pretty busy, so I didn’t bother asking. I’m going to head back sometime this week though. The jewelry counters have them and usually aren’t too busy :)

    • Joanna says:

same here! I have some family that don’t have much so I’ve been able to spoil their kids this year with cool name brand toys. Most have cost me oop $1-$3!!! These kids are going to be so happy come Christmas!

      • Joanna says:

I pick up two at each register every time I go. I’ve gotten about $50 worth of coupons.

        • Jean says:

Our JCPenney allows 1 button per family, and if your caught going to another register to get another button they get very angry!

          • Izzy says:

Jean: That’s so sad to hear. They have to give the buttons away anyway. In NYC, some of them would give you a hand full. That’s making me like JC penny more. Maybe I will go back to shop after the pomotion (I never go to JC Penny in the past 10 years.)

          • estela says:

they used to give 2 but now they are only allowed to give 1

            • april says:

I got like 10 buttons from the customer service desk…but so far no winners :) I guess our JCpenney is more liberal on their buttons…I just think they are cute and that is the only reason I want them :)

            • darla says:

i cant even get one..they are out…maybe should have only taken one and let others receive them?

    • Renee says:

I have been GOIN everyday….I go to every register and ask for buttons. Yesterday I ended up with 48 buttons from one store…went to other jcp all together from both stores I had collect 90 buttons not….so with the 90 plus what I had at home I have 122 so THATS enough to last me till Monday.

  • Ashley says:

    Oh, I’m excited now!

  • Cindy says:

I have been getting lots of buttons and must say they have helped me out tremendously this Christmas season. I have been out of work for quite some time now and have appreciated this button promotion very much!! Thanks JCP!!

    • Renee says:

I have been doing the buttons and have won about $200 in JCP money. We have used almost all of it already to buy toys, clothes, Keurig Kcups, candy for teacher gifts and more for Christmas. My OOP has been around $30 for $200 of products. This has really helped since I lost my job.

  • Holly Marie says:

KInd of random – but does anybody have a girl they would like a free shirt for? JCPenney shipped me a child shirt instead of the shirt I ordered but I do not want to hassle with the return shipping (they make you pay it) plus I’ve had it now for about a month. It is a size 6/6X top for girls. It is gray with neon yellow stripes and is 3/4 sleeve. It’s super cute, I just don’t have anyone to give it to. Brand new with tags. E-mail me at:holly@brazilanddunn.com and I can mail it over.

  • kelly says:

I heard they were going to start putting in stand alone stores and get away from malls…

  • shawna clark says:

Its my daughters size would love have it

  • Molly says:

Wait, what are the buttons ? I haven’t been in JCP all fall ….

    • Beth says:

If you go in JcP, go to a cash register and ask them for a button. (They are those little button-style badges and are Christmas-y). On the back of the button is a website and a six digit code. You enter the code online & if you win, you get a prize. Lots of people have been winning gift cards for $5 or $10. Great deal!

    • johan says:

I go to all cash register and take button and go to website put the email On the back of the button is a website and a six digit code. You enter the code online & if you win, you get a prize. I won $5 a $10 if you won you receive email and open put your information.

  • shawna clark says:

Well thanks for letting me know u can get more than 2 buttons. My babies really need clothes and every Christmas has been great but this one has been the hardest.. I missed the angel tree sign up so I hope I can win on buttons. My husband is builder and with all the rain he’s been off some. And Xmas is only week a way but I’m trying figure out. Hope it works I entered four buttons week ago but not any was winner

  • shawna clark says:

Kohls is the best store. I love that more than any store lol. Merry Christmas all.

  • Molly says:

    1. Here in Colorado, our JCP is a stand alone store, and
    2. Holly Marie, your offer above is so kind ! I’m sure you will help someone.

  • Anabanana says:

How long does it take for the gift cert to arrive from the Xmas button if we’ve won one?

  • Jean says:

Is the surprise only for new subscribers?

  • Tiff says:

So my two cents on JCP..in case you want it:) If you haven’t shopped there lately you should stop by…I hadn’t been in for a while but went after thanksgiving…their fair square prices truly are better than needing a coupon…I have been back four times this season to get the things we need…who wants to shop Kohls where I am forced to use a coupon to get a deal (which liekly isn’t really a deal) when I can shop at JCP and always be sure of getting a good deal…Jeans for a teenage boys at Kohls…with coupon $26 jeans for my teenage boys at JCP without coupon $17.70. Vans hoodie for 12 yrs old boy at JCP $18 no name hoddie at Kohls with coupon $22. I also love the new look and layout of the stores…JCP has actually won me back without coupons.

    • N says:

This is very true. I was shocked how good their prices are. People don’t realize. I got a nice pair of pants for my son for Christmas for $6 after I had just spent $16 and felt totally ripped off at target. And targets sweaters were $15 for a 4 yr old. Definitely way cheaper at jcp.

    • Erin says:

I agree! The deals at Kohls are only deals if you perpetually shop at Kohls. Plus, we caught them marking up prices in order to lower them. (We were watching prices on certain items.) JCP seems pretty reasonable, and I love the new layout–so much less crowded, messy, and ghetto! They aren’t nearly as crowded anymore, either, which I sure appreciate though it is probably bad for them. . . .

    • shanshan says:

Great two cents you offered. I dislike Kohls. I’d like to buy house ware and clothing items when I need them, not when the kohls cash/coupon expires, and it expires fast! When I was at JCP for the buttons, I saw they have very nice winter scarf, hat and mitten, so much more stylish than the ones at Target AND reasonable priced. Now even cheaper with the $5 coupon I’ve been getting from the buttons. I also appreciate the free haircut for kids every Sunday. I hope JCP will survive and do well.

Another one I like is Macy’s, when they have the $10 off $25 coupon. Certainly helps when you want a little more style/quality. Many times I end up with clearance stuff that’s not only nicer but cheaper elsewhere after coupon.

      • Lydia says:

Just a heads up… an unwritten rule at Kohl’s (or, at least at my Kohl’s) is that they will take expired Kohl’s cash, so long as it isn’t too far past the expiration date. One time I had $70 worth that was over a year old, and they honored it! While I don’t recommend waiting quite that long, I do routinely use it several weeks past the stated expiration :)

    • Jamie S. says:

      I love Vans & JCP too :)

  • Heather says:

I noticed that the email address it took me to was for pdatapartners.com not jcp. I went to the JCP website and there was nothing on the website about “being the first to know”. On a side note I have received $30 in Holiday Certs from JCP and they have helped. Plus, I really like their style.

  • Ebony says:

I have been entering buttons like crazy and none are winners I think the pot has dried up. My first 4 buttons entered 2 were winners nothing since then and I work next to a jcp so I get buttons daily

  • Christine says:

I was really mad about JC Penny getting rid of coupons and big sale ads but I have been there a lot ovewr hte past couple of months and I find their new prices to be very reasonable especially when stuff goes on clearance. I also really like some of the new lines they have come out with. They are more on trend than they used to be. I went there the other day with DH and he was loving the guys stuff too

  • susan says:

I won 2 $10.00 certificates and got 2 handbags on clearance for 10.00 each and they were free no sales tax either retail value for both 75.00

  • johan says:

hayneedle cancel my order. Other person received this email.com thanks for advanced.

  • Chel says:

I am in the group hoping JCP can really turn themselves around. The last few purchases I have made from them were of horrible quality, so bad I actually returned them (which says a lot because I am normally not a picky person) and have sworn off buying anymore home goods from them again. Their website is also a mess right now. 20-30 minutes on hold each time you call because the personal accounts are not updating themselves with recent orders. Very sad.

  • Melanie T says:

I love the new system, prices are so much more reasonable and lots of items on clearance. For those of you with teenage boys, take a close look at the Arizona skinny jeans…one cut is $10 pair, same with some corduroy pants. The buttons are awesome, be patient…my first 8 were all losers but I’ve won approx $130. Also, for those that don’t know….the gift certificates expire 31 Dec.

  • darla says:

I was just there….cant even get one because they are all out…I love the new JCP…got designer stuff very inexpensive on first and third fridays

  • adri says:

My family n I have gotten over $1000 from JCPENNEY since black friday. We have gotten $375 from gift cards alone. We shop there daily, lol

  • amy says:

My hubby works for JCPenney, so I can’t take advantage of the button promo. Hoping I’ll be able to get in on the new “surprises” Collin mentions! Thanks to those of you who are shopping at JCP….in essence keeping food on our table! ;)

  • Andrea says:

I really like JCP now. I remember years ago when I got a JCP gift card and I just about threw it in the trash (I didn’t, but I couldn’t find anything I wanted either). Then some time 2 years ago after I had my first baby I needed to find some swimwear for normal size people. I was really surprised to finally find something that fits and being able to choose from a selection.

Ron Johnson has been with the company for a while now and the results have not really been great per Wall Street, but I think it takes time. From what I heard the revamped stores are supposed to be like little boutiques within the store and then there’s supposed to be a town’s square. Not really sure how this will look. I know only 10% of stores have been revamped so far and I haven’t seen one that was done yet. This is all per CNBC, they chatter about JCP all the time.

At my JCP they certainly are making some changes. There’s a “bar” in the men’s jeans section with ipads where I guess you could browse some information, but none of the ipads worked so I can’t tell what it should be. I’m curious and I like JCP, but I’m worried about them.

Look how much we all win, nobody really spends money there. We all just go for the freebies. Not sure they’ll survive, but I want them to. So I bought a pair of jeans full price. Maybe that’s a marketing strategy :)

  • Rhonda says:

About a month ago i received a $10 off of any purchase of $10 or more from JC Penney. The new ceo welcomed any input from his loyal customers. i emailed him to thank him for the nice coupon and to say that I really miss all the coupons they used to have. He wrote me back thanking me for my input and gave me another $10 coupon. It seems The new ceo is really trying to make things work.

  • Julie says:

Thanks to those posting about the buttons. I had no idea they were doing that promotion, so I’ve missed it completely. Honestly, I haven’t been since the last time they sent me a $10 off $10 purchase. Without getting a good coupon, I just forget they exist.

  • Jess says:

Ok so where are they promising big things? I dont see that posted anywhere? We are a couple days from christmas and I havent gotten anything in my email. Anyone got more info???? Collin?

  • edy says:

I hadn’t shop at jcpenney in over a year! I went on dec 8th. The cashier after I paid she asked if anyone told me about their buttons! I said no, she gave my daughter 5 and I got 4. So, I asked my other daughter to put them in the website she did and I got 65 which I’m going to give to a friend for her kids. My other child went to jcpenney and got 2 buttons and the other went and got 2 also, some jcpenneys I heard were giving a lot! But, i hope some get up and go get their buttons!

  • kiya says:

    Hi there,
any one willing to trade $ 10 or even $5 jcp certificates for $ 20 sun glass hut ?

  • Melanie Plummer says:

I talked to one of cashiers last week. Martha Stewart products are coming. Macy’s better watch out.

  • Artemis D. says:

Anyone have any gift certs they’re not going to use? they expire tomorrow. If you’re not going to use them, I sure could! The economy has been really hard on my family. Please send me a personal message artemis520 at hotmail dot com. Happy New Year everyone!
