I love coconut oil and use it for everything! Recently, I have found it at Costco. 54 oz for 15.99. It is a great deal if you want a large jar of it at once. 🙂 (I also freeze it since I don’t live all that close to a Costco.)

  2. Allison

And you get a free Virgin Coconut Oil book with purchase 🙂

  3. Lo

Thanks Collin! I just placed an order. I’ve been wanting to try coconut oil on my daughter’s hair for some time now. Also, I heard Meredith on The Today Show talk about how she uses coconut oil on her skin. Can’t wait to try it. Thanks 🙂

so the hair one is for hair and the other you can use on your face?

    • Allison

The other you can use for just about anything. My order showed a book for free, which has at least 100 cooking recipes. You can use coconut oil to make your own deodorant, toothpaste, etc. It’s healthier than other oils. Plus, Collin’s left a link for her homemade popcorn recipe 🙂

I use coconut oil in a lot of recipes if it calls for oil. You have to heat it up first because it’s a solid at room temperature, though.

Coconut oil is amazing. Has sooo many health benefits and tastes very good. I know some people don’t like the flavor of coconut and are worried about their food tasting like that. No worries, when you cook with it, it doesn’t taste like coconut anymore. I sautee chicken, vegetables, ground beef etc But if you like the flavor a lot, try it on a grilled cheese sandwich. So yummy.
I usually buy Nutiva from Amazon, because I can use the free gift cards, but this is a much better deal! Thank you!

The Gold label isn’t the one on special. The expeller pressed is the one on sale. Both are good, but the Gold Label is their best.

  7. Stacy

Anyone that placed their order already…Did you have to add 2 of the B1G1 oils to your cart or did it automatically give you a free one by only adding 1? I added 2 and it’s showing up at regular price, and I don’t want to enter my CC info until I know for sure. Thanks, in advance!!

    • Becky

Just make sure you click on the one that says b1g1 free and it will add the 2 jars

    • Lo

Hi Stacy. I only added 1 to my cart and it automatically gave me the B1G1 free.

    • Tammi

I had the same question b/c it’s showing up as quantity of 1 but then it says BOGO in the description box, so I HOPE I’m getting 2?

    • Becky

      How much is shipping?

      • S

        free with a $16.00 purchase

        • Becky

I meant at Vitacost… She says $20 for 54 oz but if shipping is high then it isn’t a better deal

          • Diana

good point! I just always wait to add it in when i get free shipping, right now you have to spend 50 to get it. Sometimes if you buy certain products you get free shipping. I believe it is around $5 for shipping.

          • Crystal

The coconut oil at Vitacost is there brand, spend $25 on Vitacost brand products and get free shipping. I buy one 54 oz jar of coconut oil and one bottle of vitacost brand apple cider vinegar 32 oz and the total comes to just over $25 shipped. Hope that helps.

  8. BeachGrl

I did exactly what you said and my order is coming out to $32.45
am i doing something wrong?! Help =)

    • Kat

Did you add the promo code for free shipping? It took me a second to find where to put it.

  9. BeachGrl

The Coconut hair is not showing on my total for $6.25 will it apply after i hit place my order?

  10. BeachGrl

LOL im dumb i was using the gold label hair!

  11. Em

What is the difference between the hair oil and the regular oil?

I have never used this brand, I use an organic kind on a glass jar, we use it for everything: hair, skin, cooking, cosmetics, toothpaste, lube, cleaning. It’s awesome.

  12. Suzanne H

Got the coconut oil and an organic dark chocolate bar for $16.45!

  13. Steph

I bought the coconut flour before. I hope to bake with it this weekend. I printed out some recipes. I also have their oil which I cook/bake with. I just like the fact that it’s a healthier oil to be using. I believe I will be a loyal customer of theirs. Also my FIL is gluten free. I’d like to make him better stuff to eat besides rice krispie bars. I would be sooooo sick of them if I was him….

  14. Amy R

I bought some, too. I have never used it before so I am a total newbie!! Just read “101 uses for coconut oil” but have no idea what they mean when they say to take it or ingest it….right out of the jar from a spoon? Heated up? Anyone out there who can help me out? Is there a Coconut Oil for Dummies book out there?

    • Em

Right out of the jar with a spoon. You can mix it in a smoothie or melt it into coffee too

      • Em

I also sub it for butter in recipes, as we’re beegan

  15. Jami

I bought the coconut cream concentrate a few weeks ago and am loving it! I wish I would have bought two jars! Super yummy to saute some bananas with it. As for coconut oil, I use it in place of butter or oil for sauteing. I also use the oil for cooking eggs, which we eat a lot of for breakfast.

I have been using coconut oil for so many things! Cooking, body scrubs, hand cream, moisturizer, in my dogs water (helps with breath/skin & coat) & many more things! I empty my coconut oil into a bowl & whip it with my mixer & then return it to the jar; it stays softer after whipping it.

    • Pam

yes! coconut oil for dogs is so awesome. It kills oral bacteria, and dogs LOVE the taste of it. I just put a little bit in a cup, then use my blowdryer to warm it up to the oil state (since it is a solid at room temp.) Then give my dogs each a spoonful. They lick it right off the spoon, and try to get every drop. There coats are nice and shiny, and no problems with bad breath.
you could probably attempt to brush their teeth with it as well, but my dogs aren’t too into that…LOL

        Cats too?
