Is it ok to use this at CVS? I thought their policy said they don’t accept coupons that say redeemable at or have a store logo?

    • Heather C.

My CVS has never had an issue with me using coupons that have another stores name OR logo on them. I guess it depends on what CVS you visit. 🙂

      • mel

Lucky you! My CVS is really picky and has the coupon policy attached to the counter with no store logos highlighted. The cashier said if a coupon says ‘redeemable at’, that that store is paying for their name placement, is still considered a “logo”??

        • Heather C.

Oh my… I wouldn’t call that a logo at all! Have you tried calling corporate?

          • mel

I did! They said it is up to the store manager whether to accept a coupon that has “redeemable at”. But anything that is logo’d is against their coupon policy :/
:sigh: I love CVS, they are my favorite drugstore, but geesh, they are soo picky!

            • Heather C.

I LOVE CVS too, and I couldn’t imagine having to deal with such finicky management! The manager @ my CVS is a peach, and loves couponers like myself. I consider myself a very lucky gal! 😉

Are you allowed to use a bogo free coupon AND an additional coupon since it’s 2 items? I have several $2 off Sally Hansen nail polish coupons that would make it a nice money maker… Thanks in advance!

    • Nicky

where did you find the $2 coupon for the nail polish, if you don’t mind me asking?

      • Liz

@Katie…CVS allows a coupon the free item
@Nicky …I found tearpads at RiteAid for $2 off any Sally Hansen nail item…i think all RAs have them…if ppl havnt used them already.

    • SS

Actually, per CVS recent coupon policy, you cannot use a coupon on the free item.

      • Liz

@SS i dont mean to be rude but pls dont give out information with such authority without verifying it..i just went to the website to search if there was a new coupon policy out and there isnt any changes…you can use 2 coupons on a BOGO sale or a coupon on a free item.

        • mel

@SS… she is not using a coupon on the free item. She is applying the cents off to the item she is purchasing, ie the BO part of the GO.

@Liz, its not in the coupon policy, but the FAQ portion here — (may have to copy/paste in a new window)
          cvs.com/help/help_subtopic_details.jsp?subtopicName=Help%20with%20CVS/pharmacy%20Issues&topicid=200018

Does CVS/pharmacy allow more than 1 coupon to be used per transaction?
          Hide Answer
          A. Yes. CVS/pharmacy allows ONE CVS/pharmacy and ONE third party manufacturer coupon per item. A transaction is defined as the entirety of purchases on a single receipt. ExtraBucks® Rewards coupons can be applied toward the final cost. Normal exclusions apply. See the bottom of the ExtraBucks® Rewards coupon for details.

Note: Coupons cannot be applied to a “free” item.
          —–
The official coupon policy does not say one way or the other if you can use a cents off coupon with a BOGO coupon. It only says you can use 2 coupons on a BOGO SALE or that you can apply a BOGO coupon with a BOGO promotion.

With that said, it really depends on the coding of the coupon. Some BOGOs are coded to cover both items and the register will reject a cents off. Other BOGOs will only attach to the free item and you can use a cents off on the 1st item. This subject comes up on a daily basis! Collin doesn’t post matchups using a cents off with a BOGO. She doesn’t think it is correct. I think its fine, its considered Piggybacking and have been doing it for years. Sometimes it works, other times it does not. If it doesn’t, I never force the cashier to accept the cents off. I just take the coupon back and tell them no problem.

          • Liz

@Mel,CVS has a special mention for the BOGO coupons
            cvs.com/bizcontent/general/help/coupon-policy.pdf

Sales tax must be paid for any Buy One, Get One Free coupon offer, if required by applicable state laws. Two coupons may be used on a Buy One, Get One Free promotion as long as it does not exceed the item total

o Ex. Suave Shampoo is on sale for $2.00 Buy One, Get One Free and the customer is purchasing two shampoos; customer may use two coupons for $1.00 each and pay the applicable tax.

Buy One, Get One Free promotions may be combined with Buy One, Get One Free Coupons. Customers are responsible for paying applicable tax
o Ex. Suave Shampoo is on sale for $2.00 BOGO and customer has a MFG coupon for Suave BOGO. Customer will receive both items for free but will need to pay any applicable tax.

            • mel

All it says is that you can use 2 coupons on a BOGO Promotion (which in my mind promotion = sale), so you can use (2) 1.00/1 coupons. And that you can use a BOGO coupon with a BOGO Promotion to get both free.
              .
The policy doesn’t say one way or the other if you can use a Cents off WITH a BOGO Cpn. If it does, please point it out, b/c I must be overlooking it.

          • anna marie

If it was cvs sale then you would have been able to use 2 coupons on a bogo free item. But she is asking can she use a coupon with her bogo free coupon and the answer is no,you would have to purchase 3 nail polish to use the $2.00 coupon. You “can not “stack a bogo coupon with a cents off coupon.I hope this help Nicky.

Last night my Walmart and Walgreens had some of these nailpolishes packaged with a “free” full-size clear top-coat. On a display on an endcap.

    • Bea

I also saw those twin packs and got two at cvs. They were 5.99 each and I used the cvs q $4.00 off $12.00 cosmetic purchase and 2 $2/1 man q (tearpad). Plus I got 20% off (-.80). With tax I only paid $4.14 oop and got back $5 ECBs! So four free bottles of nail polish.

  4. jamie

awww….wish I’d had these last night! It would have made my cvs trip even sweeter.
I got 4X$3.29 quick dry, used 4X$2/1@ $2.99 or greater (tear pad from wags) and got 20% off. I will have to share these with my mother in law:)
    thank for the great deals!
by the way-my cvs manager told me last week that they were told not to refuse ANY coupons. This includes expired & logos. She said the clearinghouses are now weighing the coupons for verification. So, they’ll receive the credit no matter how old it is. This might just be in the Austin, tx area?

  5. Katie

Does anyone who’s been in store know how much the insta dri nail polish is at cvs? The online prices are never right and I like to have everything calculated prior to for ecbs and stuff. @Liz Thanks for answering my couponing question! @Nicky Like people said above, I found a tearpad at a Rite Aid Sally Hansen display in the make up aisle. There was a hefty pile and no one had touched it, so I figured it wouldn’t hurt to snag a few extras to use elsewhere.

  6. Angie

I got a $5 off when you buy $25 in baby products from the CVS coupon kiosk. I paired that with the Huggies deal of buy $30 and get $10 CVS bucks. I had 3 $2 off Q’s for my Goodnights and Pullups! I also had to buy 2 boxes of kleenex to make my $30 since the pull-ups were priced at $9.49 each. However it still made for a good deal! Just wanted to give the heads up to look out for the baby product Q

  7. Autumn

I saw this same nail polish at my local Dollar Tree for $1.00 a bottle.
