Wow, that’s a great deal! I wonder if I can still get that price for the mailing option. It’s not available for delivery in my area, but it said that they could mail it instead. Are the coupon inserts the same as the ones in local papers, you think?

  • Conswalla says:

I just called and it’s the same price to have it mailed but they don’t mail COUPON INSERTS. Based on that, I’ll pass.

  • Ashley says:

Bummer. I was hoping that they would have the coupon inserts for mailing. Thanks for calling! I was just about to!

  • Emily says:

There is a groupon for the Hartford Courant too for the central Connecticut area. It’s $26 for the year. Not a bad price :)

  • Jess says:

I ordered this a few months ago and have yet to receive a paper. I’ve sent numerous emails and made phone calls, every time I’m assured its going to start the next weekend. And it never does. After the last phone call I received a bill, now I have to call and explain once again that I don’t owe them anything. It seemed like such a good deal, very disappointed.

    • MissyLiz says:

I had the same experience Jess. I ended up filing a claim with the BBB (which was ignored by the newspaper and thus closed by the BBB). I wrote to groupon and let them know about it too, they gave me a $5 credit. In the end I sent an email to the guy who writes the “Watchdog” column and he forwarded it to someone who actually did something about it. The email of the person who finally straightened it out is regionalcs@tribune.com (Monique Carr-McKoy). HTH!

Oh, and in my opinion, the inserts that are in the Morning Call aren’t very good. The SS never has as many as the Philly Inquirer or the Doylestown Intelligencer. If it wasn’t for having RP which Philly doesn’t, I wouldn’t even bother with it.

I ordered one today. will have to wait and see…hmmm

  • Samantha says:

Wow, that is a great price! Houston chronicle also has a groupon right now, a year of Wed and Sun delivery for $49. Shop discover offers cash back on groupon stuff as well.

  • Tom says:

I bought this deal but when I fill out the information and put the code in it has all there regular prices and want a credit card for payment.

  • cutoupon says:

OK. I got this deal on may 28th and I have already received the newspaper this wekend with red plum, p&G and smart source inserts. Hurray!!!
