was the rp supposed to be in the paper, I got one and only got the smartchoice one.

  2. Amber

I bought these at Target. They are .97 each. So you would pay $2.91 and have $3.09 in overage to use on other stuff. Better than Walmart.

    • msandino510

My Target doesn’t allow overage… once in a while there is a new cashier that doesn’t know to adjust down the coupon, but it’s against their policy :/

  3. Jaye

Why won’t there be overage at target if they are 97 cents?

    • Torri

The overage at Target is ymmv. Their policy is to not give overage though.

    • Leslie

You do ๐Ÿ™‚ I bought there and had over $3 in overage per 3 I bought with the $6/3. Awesome deal at Target and don’t have to deal with Walmart. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

  4. Eve

The big ones were only 1.57 at my walmart, so I got those since I need shaving cream anyway.

    • Sarah

      Thanks

  5. jenny bosse

    I love this deal

  6. K

You can get overage if you have other items in your order. I do it all of the time with my Target.

  7. Barbara

At my Target in Missouri the large shave gels were on sale for $1.77. I agree that YMMV. I did have overage apply this time but that doesn’t always happen.

    • Katie

Sorry new to this what does YMMV mean?

      • Brianne

        Your mileage may vary!!!

  8. Jolene

I used mine at Walmart on 3 large size cans, they were $1.98 each. I chose to go for the free full size cans since my hubby shaves a lot!
YMMV โ€“ Your Mileage May Vary (โ€œWorked for me, may not work for youโ€) In this case, some Target stores give overage, others adjust the value of the coupon so you get the product free, but no overage applied to your total.

    • Willa

Neither Target nor Walmart give overage for us. There is a new Walmart being built much closer to us and I am hoping they will give overage.

  9. Emilee

can you use the coupon on women shave gel?

    • Thia

YES!!! I just got back and used it on the Gillette Satin Care with Shea Butter!!

  10. Gina

the Gillette shave gels were 1.99 at my target and the cashier gave me such a hard time about the 3 cents I’d be “getting back”. I’ve given up on overage at walmart but either A. they don’t have it B. they wont let me or C. going to walmart is just a pain

    • Pat

I agree. I hate walmart. Everytime I try to use a coupon they act like I am stealing from them. The clerk told me they were not going to allow overage anymore and when I bought an item with a $5 coupon they took 4.97 off on the receipt.

      • wow

Some Wal Mart stores are not very coupon friendly. Go to a different Wal Mart. I have two local Wal Marts, and Ive always problems with using coupons at one Wal Mart.

      • Nichole Thibodeau

just assuming that was the tena coupon? if so that particular one wont give overage because it was worded ” up to $5 off ” when that happens the computer automatically takes off item value now. whereas a coupon tat may say simply -$5 it will ask the cashier to confirm and they push okay and it deducts whole thing. the cashier prob just said that because they didn’t actually know and they have to say something otherwise they may look incompetent. lol hope you get your overage next time ๐Ÿ™‚

      • Burgh

Art my walmart today the cashier, after taking to customer service for 15 minutes, LIED TO MY FACE by saying that only one of the coupons could be used per day. I’m like um hello, $1 is a different number than $3 is a different number than $6! I canceled the transaction and will be filing a complaint with the BBB tomorrow.

  11. axhilli

They are available at CVS also.

  12. Karen

I did this this morning at Walmart with the $6/3 and $3/2 coupons. Had two of each coupons so got 6 of the 1.27 shave gels and had $5.30 overage towards ink. The coupons scanned perfect too, no beeping!

  13. christine

Serious question, why does anyone waste good coupons on trial sizes? I’d rather have a full sized product. I’ve never bought a trial size

    • Emilee

it is not a good idea to get a lot of full sized pressurized products because after a while the will look pressure.

      • Smellyann

        What?

    • Rachel Vaughan

I agree– if people are buying them and storing them for long periods of time, then maybe they shouldn’t buy so much– I buy what I can get the most for with my coupon at the cheapest price– if trial makes it free, then that’s what I go for, but if I can get full size for free, then why wouldn’t you?

    • Marie

I don’t know about others, but I travel a fair amount and never check my bag to save money. I can’t wait to grab some to have on hand for that.

    • Steph

Nobody in my family uses shaving cream, so buying a full-sized can (versus a trial-sized can) really doesn’t matter; we wouldn’t use it either way. The overage from buying trial-sized cans can make a huge difference, however, in terms of overage. Yesterday I “made” $26 buying these exact trial-sized cans. The $26 went to filling my car with gas, and this morning I dropped off the shaving cream at a nearby homeless shelter. A win-win in my book!

  14. Luvappa

    I used $6/3 & $3/2@ target: 2 gel $1.99, 3 foamy $1.54, 4 Qtips 500ct $2.99 (4 peelies $.50), Bic 10ct razor $2.99. Paid $9.32 $5 gift card from Qtips

    • Jane

I tried to use them today at Walmart on the foamy and I was told it’s not the right product, I’m really getting tired of trying to coupon at Walmart! I spoke to the assistant manager about it and he said he would have a meeting about the way the cashier made me feel (sure he will). Thanks I just needed to vent.

  15. Sarah

A serious question deserves a serious answer: Overage

  16. rachael

The best deal for me with this coupon was to get the Gillette proglide shave gel that’s part of krogers sale for 1.99 when u buy 5. Got $35 worth of my hubbys favorite shave gel for 0.31 cents. And I only needed 2 inserts!!!

    • Meme

Me too! Was able to get all 5 for free basically with 1 coupon because if you buy 5 they were only $1 each. And the coupon took the full $6 off! And they were the full size Satin care with Shea butter ๐Ÿ™‚ happy I’m fully stocked cause I had 4 coupons.

  17. Sally

They have the trial size ones at the CVS near me in New York for $1.19 each.

  18. wow

This coupon worked for the full size Gillette Satin shave gel for women too. It is priced 1.99 at Target!!!

  19. Rachel

At target the full size product is on sale for 1.99 so I got three of them and used the $6 off of 3.

  20. kelli

travel sizes are also good for homeless blessing bags. so you get the product to bless someone else and you get overage. win-win ๐Ÿ™‚ I really hope I can find these, I just ordered some because we don’t get these good coupons where I live!

  21. steph

Meijer has these this week as part of the 10/$10 deal in the trial size section.

  22. SK

Is this regional? I can’t find it in my RP =(

  23. MM

I used two $6/3 and at my local Walmart they were $1.57 each-they were FULL SIZE. I made $2.58 on these!! I also used 2 of the $2/2 Tone Body wash/bar coupons, they were $1.47 each. I got 8 bars for $1.88!! So just $0.70 for 6 bottles of shaving cream and 8 bars of soap. I’ll take it!!

  24. Ashlee

My target said the $6/3 coupon wasn’t good on trial sizes but she overrode one coupon for my 6 trial size cans. I tried to tell her it didn’t specify but she wouldn’t listen.

  25. nikita

can u get cream in stead of gel?
I like the .97 better! lol

  26. Sharon

The 2 walmarts in my area accept coupons depending on who is managing the shift. Do they tell their cashiers to come up with any excuse they can, no matter how dumb it is, in order to NOT accept a coupon. They do this alot when I use a coupon or 2. They did this with the shaving cream after I had already used 2 coupons at the same store on 2 different days with no problem

They must put the fear in some of these cashiers cuz they scrutinize it for 10 minutes and then have to find a manager to make sure it is ok. This asshat manager had the gaul to say that shaving cream is not skin prep for shaving and wouldn’t accept the coupon. I took my $6 off coupon and the $60 in cash i was going to spend on groceries and went to their competitor, who gladly accepted all of it.

I don’t use coupons that often and have spent Thousands of $ at walmart over the years. It’s the principle of it that really burns me

  27. Anne

Such a great deal! With last week’s free razors and this week’s free shaving gel – my husband and I are fully stocked! Thanks for all the great posts!

  28. mel

Hey guys, I have some disappointing news. I just came from WM, and when I tried to use the $6 off coupon on the .97 cans, was told the coupon would have to be adj down. I asked why, as I thought the coupon policy allowed for overage. She said P&G coupons forbid overage. Sure enough, in the fine print under dealer it says “No cash or credit in excess of shelf price may be returned to customer or applied to transaction” !!! I had her void them off. all these rules on coupons, is starting to get annoying!!

  29. Jamie

Went to Target today and used $6/3 on large cans and was going to use $3/2 on trial size and was told that trial sizes were not allowed. I ended up getting in a argument with the cashier and the manager over this. Then to make it worse the cashier read the coupons 3 times before she scanned them. Made me so mad!!!!

  30. Dinah

Target refused to give me a reduction to $4.97 (sale price) on a $5.00 coupon. The register beeped. The register manager was called over and he told me I couldn’t get it free. He offered to reduce my coupon to $4.00 and I could pay $.97. I declined his offer. I went to Walmart and they reduced the coupon to their $4.97 sale price.

I phoned the store manager at Target when I got home. I then related my experience and described the register manager and stated I thought he misunderstood Target’s coupon policy. The store manager stated they do follow Target’s coupon policy and he would take care of the matter and I should have no problem in the future.

Going to the top manager in the store worked this time. ( I hope, we will see)

  31. olivia

Lady at target just told me that she couldn’t allow me to use the $1/1 shave prep coupon in trial size because its only .97 and that creates overage, and the coupon cannot be adjusted because they get reimbursed. Irritating. Well, I saw the shelf of full-sized product is cleared, has to be from using the $6/3, which creates overage, also. Getting a little tired of the targets in my area. Register accepted it and all, but “i can’t give it to you though” quakertown, pa.

  32. Violet

I just got back from Walmart. Thank the Lord for savings. I did have overage of $2.19 for buying 3 of the travel size Gillette cans for $1.27 a piece, that was applied to my bill. Thanks HIP2SAVE.
