Toys ‘R Us Price Match Guarantee (Now Matching Competitor’s Online Prices – Amazon.com + More!)

If you’re a Toys R’ Us shopper, then here is some great news! Toys ‘R Us just updated their Price Match Guarantee to now include online prices which can mean great savings for you! As outlined here, Toys R Us will now match prices from selected online competitor websites, including Walmart.com, Target.com, BestBuy.com, Sears.com, Kmart.com, buybuyBaby.com, Meijer.com, FredMeyer.com, diapers.com, BabyDepot.com, and Amazon.com (not including marketplace pricing).

Keep in mind that online prices must be verifiable via competitor website. Prices are matched after deducting any Toys”R”Us and/or Babies”R”Us coupon savings and other offers from the price. Competitor shipping charges will be calculated and factored in the cost of online prices.

Finally note that Toys R Us will not price match online prices advertised during the week of Black Friday or on Cyber Monday and online pricing that is limited to one day or less (e.g. one day deal, 6-hour sale, evening sale). Click here for all the details.

Price matching opportunities absolutely confuse me! There are so many “small fine print” details!

I wanted to buy my son a nintendo dsi. Target was selling them cheaper than toys r us but I had a toys r us credit line. I went with the price match to toys r us and the price matched it saving me a good chunk of money!

Can you help me understand this phrase: “Prices are matched after deducting any Toys”R”Us and/or Babies”R”Us coupon savings and other offers from the price.” Does this mean if I have, for instance, a TRU coupon for 15% off an item, it won’t really count?

    • Amy

Yes, you would need to pick the better deal (their price with coupon or online price).

Thank you so much for sharing these!

WOW! This also means they will be selling Legos at MSRP or lower – how interesting! Good move on their part with the holidays right around the corner.

Thanks for the heads up Collin!

They were forced to this since Target is doing the same. Its a hassle regardless. We will have to read fine print on ads and special buys. This usually excludes any price with gift card offer or also if they match then you cant use their coupons. I guarantee they will change the way the sales are just to make it difficult to match.

Hmm so if I want something priced matched from target.com that is $10 and shipping would be an additional $5… ToysRus would then charge $15? What if I have a Target card to get FREE shipping would they price match it at the $10?
Pretty sure all these stores are doing to telling you they are willing to compete but they are really just competing to see who can confuse the customer the most. 😉 I will stick to the ‘old fashion’ paper ad matches at retailers that don’t make the customer go to customer service to match ect. I miss couponing and bargain shopping when it was actually a sport when you had to find the deals yourself. Yes I do love hip2save and the great deals, I’m just saying that anymore shopping has become a rat race to see who can clear the shelves first. *end rant*

I agree on all points. I love this site for the online deals, store matchups, and overall “personality,” but I despise the clearance posts. National chains in my area are much slower to discount items than other areas of the country, and as soon as such a post goes up, clearance gets wiped out–even though ours may be only 30 percent and the posts are about “potential” 70 percent clearance. It’s such fun to find a deal (that you need!) yourself.

I just found this out today when I mentioned that one item I had in my cart was much cheaper on Amazon. They said to just pull it up on a smartphone or tell them where to find it and they’ll do the rest. They will not take printouts to price match though since they can be forged. But yes, for now I’m sticking with Amazon since it is still tax-free for my state but good to know in the future =)

Toys r us does not price match unless they feel like it! I came in with an ad that meets every criteria in their policy. The saw the My little pony Equestrian girl Rainnbow Rocks doll ad and saw only one character pictured (ad clearly states selection varies by store; therefore, there are more dolls than just this one). I found the exact same type of doll but the other 5 characters. Same/equivalent accessories etc. but because the mgr didn’t like that the price was so low ($1.99) he didn’t want to honor the price. Same thing with a Nerf football, it was exactly the same product but a different COLOR!!! Shame on you Toys RUs!!

Was given the price match last week this week was told only if the competitor had it in stock. Price match means just that. Not if its on the shelf or not. Will be contacting someone about this. Will get my money back one way or another. And will not i repeat will not spend any more money there.

So I did a large purchase online from Toys R Us this Christmas. I reviewed their Price Match Policy online and it states that they will price match their competitors (only certain stores) and will also donate $1 to Toys for Tots for each item they price match. Well, its all a lie! I spoke to two different people after my order was placed and they verified each item to price match, made notes in the computer with who the competitor is and how much to match, gave me a reference number and said to call back after the item has shipped. So I called back after the item has shipped and guess what, they will only honor 20% off, NOT PRICE MATCH. Their website still says they will price match but the supervisor said they have a different policy at their office and says they can only do 20% off. They owe me $91 in price match credits and refuse to give it to me. I will no longer be shopping at Toys R Us, going to stick to Walmart, Target and Amazon from now on since they stand by their policy 100%.

Let’s say for instance I have a coupon from buy buy baby coupon form 20% off using it on a product to lower the price to $68.19 then used the BabiesRUs coupon with 15% off. Can I get the product by using multiple coupons??
