can a single dad sign up?

    • Brandy

      @Sam why not???

  2. Elise

Sam, yes you can. my husband signed up.

  3. Brandy

I signed up for this 3 months ago and I have yet to receive anything. To anyone who has gotten these items, how long did it take after you signed up to receive any items???

    • Aleshia

I NEVER got anything from them. I signed up with baby number one and got all sorts of stuff shipped right to my house. A few years later I signed up with baby number two and got coupons, but no free samples. They wanted me to print “free sample” coupons online and take them to my doctor or hospital to cash in, but neither the hospital nor my doctor carried from Similac. Baby number three. I got 5$ off coupons. That is it. Disappointed in them especially since I get their 50 million emails.

I had to contact similac to get mine and once u do you will get a quick response

I signed up about four weeks before my first baby was born this past, July… I received the same exact welcome kit that is pictured above about a week beforehand due date. I also received a black bag with coupons from Similac about a week after he was born. I recieve 5$ coupons about every other week and when my baby had to go on Similac Expert (the most expensive Similac there is) I called Similac and because I was a member, the nice lady sent me out 4 8 ounce sample cans of the Similac Expert and 4 5$ coupons! Signing up is totally worth it in my opinion- just the coupons alone are wonderful- especially when a one pound can of powdered formula costs 27.99$ and only lasts for 6 days!

    • Tammy

Have you had your baby already? Usually they send the free samples a few weeks before the due date that you entered.

  4. Maggie

That happened with me, I signed up for the Enfamil one, never came, called and they sent it.

  5. Laurie

I signed up 18 months ago when my daughter was born. Never received anything from them. However, out of the blue a 62 year old guy that I work with received 2 free containers and a bunch of coupons in the mail one day. His youngest grandchild is 7 years old so he has no idea why they sent him one.

What about TTC parents? I wonder if we are we eligible

  7. Megan

Would love to have coupons sent.

    • Alison

I recieved a kit, and will not be using it. Would you like me to send you the coupons, if nothing else?

  8. Katie

I signed up and recieved the kit a couple weeks before my due date…my son is 9 months now and they still regularly send be 5$ coupons!!!

  9. Jenn

I also signed up and received the kit in the mail a few weeks before my due date. For those who signed up and haven’t received it – I think they mail it based off of your due date and not when you actually register as I did so early but it arrived right before. Also, I still receive rebate checks from them and believe that the more you redeem the rebates the more they send you. Great freebies for those of us who can’t breastfeed!

I am going to be perfectly honest here… I am a mom of 5 going on 6 children. I avoid the Similac people like the plague. I have found that once I get on their list, they keep sending newsletters and things that promote their product. If a mom is planning on bottle feeding only, then it’s not a problem… Getting started with breastfeeding can sometimes be difficult, though. It’s best not to have the tempation of formula and formula coupons if a mom is very serious about breastfeeding. The small amount that they send is just not worth it if a mom is trying to establish breastfeeding first before supplementing. These offers are a matter of personal preference… Just be aware of what type of feeding you plan to do before signing up.

    • Anne

I disagree. I think regardless of feeding preference, it is good to have it around. My baby had such bad jaundice, the doctor AND the lactation consultant said she needed supplemental formula. Thank goodness I had the free samples of Enfamil in the house. It was already stressful enough.

I have an extreme case but the formula and coupons were not a temptation. I think calling it a temptation makes it sound harmful to the child which probably wasn’t your intention. For us, it was a safety net.

    • Katrina

I also disagree. Some people don’t have the luxury of “planning” what type of feeding to do. I ended up having an emergency c-section with my twins, which resulted in not being able to pump for four days. While I breastfed them for four months, I was grateful to be able to use formula. And I don’t feel guilty for it at all.

    • Em

I have six going on 7- we’re going for an even 12. I think that’s silly, but it’s your opinion. My first 3 were breasted exclusively until they self weaned. I never found a can of formula sitting around to be a temptation and 2 of my kids were born with a very, very sharp tooth!

  11. Lisa

    Katrina,
I agree, some people don’t have that luxury of planning how to feed babies…. Twins are an amazing blessing! I’ve had more than my share of the unplanned, and I don’t feel guilty for the formula I used, either…I have my preference for all kinds of things, and had many things blow up in my face since I live in the real world…

Sorry if I offended anyone… (((HUGS)))) From a ” real” mom
    Lisa

    • Katrina

Thanks, Lisa. My boys are awesome and are my greatest joy. They’re two, so they’re keeping us busy. 🙂

i just received my free sample 2 weeks ago in the same picture above and i am so happy after a months i signed up and i. will gonna use it for my little one on the way for less 4 weeks from now… i. was thought that i never get anything from similac because i signed up at Enfamil and they sent mail to me as soon as possible plus more hogh value of coupon but i guess they are different way how to send back samples to the mother and soon to be a mom…:-)

  13. Katie

I signed up over 6 months ago and never received ANYTHING other than their stupid emails. So I wrote an email to them. They responded back saying they would send me some coupons. I got them in the mail yesterday and got 3 $2/1 formula coupons… Disappointed in them. My son is on hypoallergenic formula (nutramigen/alimentum) so $2 doesn’t help a whole lot.
