Check out the email I recently received from reader, Lieca…

[h2s_box] I went to Dollar General in Milwaukee,WI and the summer toys were 90% off and garden tools were 70% off. Needless to say, I ended up spending only $28 for two carts of toys. I usually have a stock of toys on the side during trick or treat to hand out to some of the kids who have good costumes or best hat or best makeup.[/h2s_box]

And don’t forget about the 70% off all green dot items including plastic table cloths, pot holders, and more that Hip2Save reader, Katie, found at her local Dollar General!

I went to the new one at 51st and Howard. Yesterday, went to the one on 27th street and they had a lot left too (even $20 hard plastic pools for $2.00). Hope this helps.

LOVE the idea of having a stash of toys for trick or treators. I’m totally going to start doing that too. Plus we have a lot of newborns in the neighborhood this year and I don’t feel right giving them candy (unless Mom or Dad could use a sugar fix). Thanks!

Just an fyi….instead of Easter baskets we used either large plastic buckets or umbrellas and filled them just like an easter basket.

I got a couple of glass coca cola glasses, and two decorative ice trays for the house for .30 a piece. The associate said they had a lot last week, might try another store in the area just to see. Thanks for posting.
