I don’t know why – it won’t let me sign up. It just keeps going back to the form. 🙁

I signed up and got a coupon for $2 off 2 Hallmark cards!

I love Hallmark! They are very coupon friendly! last week I received a few coupons in the mail. A 5 off 10 and a booklet with two 2 hallmark bucks and I printed the 10 off 30 coupon. I went in to the store last weekend and ask the cashier if i was able to use all coupons in one transaction and she said yes! I purchased the superhero book with cape and medallion for 12.75 including taxes! regular price for it was 39.95!
    One x-mas gift done!!

Did anyone else get an Email from them asking you to update your facebook and they would give you $5 off?

I have had nothing but trouble using their new program. It won’t let me record cards I’ve purchased, and won’t let me print coupons I have earned. I contacted them and received an auto-response saying I’d get an answer in 48 hours. that was 72 hours ago. No response. I think it’s as bad as the Obamacare website! 😉

I also have had nothing but trouble. I cant redeem my reward card points on the gift cards. It always tells me my order has failed and to contact customer service. I did that and they also said they would get back to me. That was two weeks ago. Haven’t heard anythng.

I’m having the same problem. Did you ever figure out how to fix it?

I have the opinion that purchased cards are a huge waste of money–some are upwards of $3 and $4 EACH. I sometimes “make” my own cards with stamps, or just write a nice hand-written note on nice scrapbook-type paper. My kids make all their own cards for Thank yous and birthdays. Kids’ don’t need money wasted on them for birthday parties, but again a nice hand-made card or note is awesome to give. Why are cards so huge in our society? I think of all the money wasted on so many cards that just get thrown away. Even $1 cards aren’t worth it to buy. I don’t even keep cards unless they have a note written in them or are sentimental. I’m not even doing Christmas cards because I already keep in contact with eveyone on Facebook, so a card/stamp/letter/ etc. would just be dumb. Just curious about others’ thoughts!

Forgot to add….I especially feel sorry for the person who bought/wasted money on a card and all they do is sign it with their name. That just seems so silly to me. What’s the point, really? Some people don’t want to take time to “say” anything themselves anymore.

    • Rebe

I agree with you Suzanne, but I was not raised in this country, so I had a hard time grasping my mind around the idea of getting cards that didnt say anything personal from the person sending them. I now send cards all the time because I get them for free at CVS when they have good offers, but they are certainly a huge waste of money, especially when people do not bother to write anything on it.

    • Tia

      Agreed. 100%.

    • Jen

I agree that cards can be ridiculously expensive, however I think they are great because some people have a hard time expressing theirselves, not able to come up with the words to say, or simply it is easier to just buy a card than to take the time to make one. Do you think someone is going to keep a hand made card if they don’t keep store boughten cards? I think they will both end up in the trash unless it is something that truely means a lot. I still write in some of my cards that I buy esp for big occasions or big life events. Everyone has their own opinions however why call it “feeling sorry for or a” huge waste of money?” I feel more sorry for you that you took all that time into making that card that is now at the dump with the store boughten cards!

      • Suzanne

Oh, yes, I agree the hand-made ones will be trashed as well. But at least I didn’t spend dollars on it, just pennies for the basic paper and the time in making it or writing it. 🙂

I agree on the high price of cards and it just not being worth it. The only time I buy cards is for my grandparents because they leave birthday cards on the coffee table for like a month lol. Even those are just Dollar Tree 2/$1 cards but I wrote my own note inside and they love em.

I disagree. I still buy cards and specialize in seasonal cards for my girlfriends (ex: Thanksgiving, Halloween) and other people I want to remember. It nice to be thought of and receive something in the mail other than a bill or a reminder to go to the doctor. Keeping “in touch” does not always have to be electronic!

    • Ashley57

I agree with that – I see it as a way to stay in touch and let people know I am thinking of them. I buy my cards in bulk on Ebay though – I try to pay .17 cents each or less, plus the stamp.

Forgot to mention, since I send several a year to the same person, I do get the dollar cards from Dollar Tree. Normally 2/$1. The thought that counts. I do send nicer cards at Christmas but only if I found ones I like for 50% off after the holidays the year prior. 🙂

I love to receive a card in the mail, and some I do keep. When a person has written me a special note, it has more value to me than many gifts I have received. And I’ve been told by many, particularly those who are sick or who have lost a loved one that those cards mean the world. As far as Hallmark cards, they can be pricey, but my Hallmark store has a big $.99 section. And the more you buy, the more coupons you get. Their Hallmark app is AWFUL – I’ve never had it work right. But the Card Rewards app is super simple and works great. I’ve already earned $5 to Starbucks and $5 to Applebee’s.

I’ve kept cards for years then purged them a few years ago. I still have a few that mean so much to me, including a card my deceased Dad gave me. While social media is an outlet, and a wonderful one at that, I love sending and receiving a card. I love talking on the phone as opposed to texting. I appreciate the personal touch.

I do agree some greeting cards are costly. thankfully, I have managed to scale back because of wonderful couponing blogs.

As with many things, I believe it’s a matter of personal preference. Now you have my thoughts.

  12. Suzanne

I’m not seeing where to click on “report cards” from the link provided.
Where exactly do i need to go?

  13. carole romeo

I don’t know what I am doing incorrectly, but I feel this is a game of “ring around the rosey” Why can’t I just report the card I purchased from Wal-Mart?
