Just a headed up.. I just got the amazon email this morning offering free $10 gift card when you buy a $50 gift card.. So be sure to check your email this morning!!
The cooking set at Walgreens was 5$ last week. I cannot compare the two. ..but it is a much better price.
Amazon prices are very inflated, so the discounts always appear to be huge.
Hi Janie – Just wondering where you’re consistently beating Amazon prices so i can look there? BTW, I agree that sometimes – especially before Christmas – Amazon’s “original” prices are inflated (or MSRP, which no one pays!), but I’ve had a ton of experiences in the last several months where I’ve found a toy or book in TJ Maxx/Home Goods/Marshall’s, Kohl’s, Target or with a 20% off sticker at Barnes and Noble and probably 8 times out of 10, when I check Amazon’s price on my phone it’s been about the same and often a little lower. It’s starting to bum me out because I used to think I found good deals in those places. Obviously, there are exceptions (like what H2S posts – eg: a sale at target plus store and manufacturer coupons, etc.), but I’ve had trouble beating Amazon prices as often as I think I should be able to. I must be looking in the wrong places! Any thoughts/tips/help appreciated! Oh but BTW, I don’t have a Walmart near me – so maybe that’s part of my problem? Thanks!
Liz, I think Janie was referring to the “original” prices. So the price at Walmart/Target may be $11 and Amazon’s price is $10 but Amazon will say the original price was $20 and you’re saving 50%…it’s still a good deal but not as hot of a del as Amazon would have you believe.
Thanks! That makes me feel a little better ๐
does anyone have the balance board? was looking to get that for my 3.5 year old daughter. wanted some more feedback if its worth the 10.
we have it. it’s a fun idea, but worth about 5-10 minutes of fun every 2-3 months. not a very engaging toy. it is sturdy, but also a bit of a heavy toy, consequentially. HTH!
I bought it for $10 last year for my then 4 year old daughter, and she loves it. She uses it frequently still — and now my 10 month old thinks it’s hilarious to sit next to it and rock it back and forth.
It probably depends on the kid and what they enjoy doing — my daughter is really active and enjoys challenging herself like “Time me to see how long I can balance!” so it’s been well worth it for us.
thanks for the feedback~~
these regular prices aren’t just inflated, they are ridiculous! Amazon has had the tub symphony selling for around $27-29 for at least the last month. So while it’s a sale price, it is no where near 60% off. Amazon is undermining ppl’s trust in them. Risky business for a top retailer.
I agree, at their most extreme discounts they finally start to come into the realm of what all the other retailers normally sell the item for. Something Amazon really needs to improve.
The sewing kit is a great deal and perfect for young girls! I have bee watching this for over a year and this is the best price by far!
Yes, my daughter used birthday money to buy this last year in a local store for $30 — this is a great price and it is a great kit that she has used and used for over a year.
I haven been waiting for this to be cheaper because alls my daughter wants for
Christmas is to sew!! SO excited I waited… Thanks Collin for posting this!!
I got the Button Art a couple years ago on Amazon for $6 but I would do it again in a heartbeat for the $8.80 it is now. My daughter loves it. She plays with it often and for a longer duration than her other toys which is great becuase she usually loses interest more quickly with other things.
I was just coming on to say the same thing! Both of my kids love this set! Very worth the $8.80!
The Alex Jr Baby Builder is an awesome set – lots of fun pieces that keep babies and toddlers busy in a good way. If you look at the price history – this is a great price regardless of the whole 60% off thing.
I only lets me buy one of an item. I have three 1 year old girls to buy for and it would only let me purchase one ๐
I was interested in the baby builder but after contacting customer service I found out that it is not BPA free:( Hopefully they sell an updated version soon! It looks like a great toy.
