I am seriously wondering if Kmart and/or Sears is about to go out of business – I can’t believe all the free points I have been getting lately. Last week, two free sweaters from Sears and six packs of gum at Kmart. This week, $9 more to spend at Kmart….I love it, but how long can it go on…?
I was wondering too. I love these points and always leave good feedback also regarding them when I get a survey to fill and mention in my survey to not stop these deals. I’ve got free bookcase and tether for my sons last week with my husband’s points and a nice purse for myself for almost $3.00 with my points. Really great program and I love it 🙂
I know that my Sears is pulling out of our mall here in South Louisiana. I know that there was talk of the company going completely internet/magazine sales based a couple of year’s ago, and I believe they are downsizing!
Hi, I just became a shop your way rewards member a few weeks ago and don’t think I understand it. I tried to use some points I had at KMART and the lady at the register told me I couldn’t use them. As far as I could tell I didn’t see any restrictions and she wouldn’t explain anything so they expired. Now I have these 1,500 points and they showed up as “Local Ad Surprise points liquidity offer”. Can anyone tell me how these work and are they specific to Sears or Kmart or can they be combined? Thanks in advance, I’m just trying to figure out how this all works 🙂
You will need to have a PIN number to enter into the debit/credit card machine. This will allow you to use your points. Ask to speak to a manager next time. Good luck!

It depends on the amount you are using. Over $5 requires the pin #.
You can use the local ad points at either – both store points can be used at one store.
But when you get “surprise” points, those have to be used at that specific store. Some of those might be free money, but others might read “$10 with a $50 purchase of something”. You have to make sure you are purchasing the right product at the right store.
Also, I would contact SYW and explain to them what you just posted and I’ll bet they add your points back for you.
Also, log into SYW account, click your total points at top right. You will see your membership # and pin # at the top and a print button – just print and keep it in your wallet, so you always have it.
I just wanted to thank you all, you ladies are wonderful! It was my first time trying to use my points and if I had more time I would have stood my ground but I just couldn’t wait around for them that day to find someone that would help. So if Im understanding this right about the surprise points…. When I go to my local ad the surprise points banner didn’t show up so per the suggestion here I changed the zip code and it did show up and I got the points (they are showing up under my account history). So would that make the points invalid since it was for another zip code or does that mean that I can only use them at kmart or sears and not all the points at only at one of them. My account history shows 1, 500 points for today twice so I guess I got one from sears and kmart but it doesn’t specify either store.
oops, also forgot, how do you tell when the surprise points expire? It doesn’t give a range of dates?
You’re very welcome, Aleks! Don’t confuse “local ad” points with “surprise” points.
Go to your account, and under your total points, you will see “surprise points”, click that or “see all” and that is where you will see your surprise points that need to be used at those specific stores. These points that Collin posted, are “local ad” points and they can be used at either store and are only good from 4/27-5/3, so you won’t be able to use them yet. If you got the last local ad points for $2 each, they are good from 4/20-4/26.
I find it easier to write these points down so I don’t forget about them. HTH! 😉

You can use them at Kmart or Sears. Not sure why the cashier told you you couldn’t use them? I would have stood there until she figured it out, but I’m like that though!! If they don’t know what they’re doing, then I ask for a manager. I used mine last week on some pillowcases and I told the cashier I had points to use and she did something on the register and my total went down $3.
I tried to look at the sears local ad and it said it awarded me points, but it didn’t. 🙁

So I was able to get a pair of new Converse for my daughter and some sandals for me for only $19.00 shipped to my door! What a deal! 🙂 Thank you for posting this and for all that you do!
The ad never shows for me and I sign in and sign out and in again and still nothing.
check a zip code to a little larger town and change your store to that zip. We have a kmart that has a sears in it — it is small — the ad does not come up for that one, but it does for the store an hour away HTH

Try changing your zipcode to the ads. 90210 works for sears. Click “change location”, enter the zip, select the first store that comes up. Then the banner should be on the right hand side.

I went yesterday and they had $1.99 clearance racks all around the store, 2 piece women’s pajama sets, toddler jackets/shirts/winter hats and gloves/ girls joe boxer 2 piece pajama sets and girls monster High little sets, btr, and Cody Simpson, lots of men’s pajamas and basketball shirts and shorts, nicki minaj hoodies/dresses. Lots of good things make sure you check :p also went to sears toddler converse are $8 for black high tops used my points and got them for $1.30 also got bongo shoes and slippers free with points go check it out
My kmart also had a ton of nice purses for only 99 cents!

What time (PST) does this go live each day? I tried at 5:30 (PST) and it said “offer has not yet started”, then at 7:00 (PST) i logged in and it said “Sorry…….”

You get 1 week to use the ad points. They’ll be live starting Sunday 4/27 and you have until Sat 5/3 to use them. There are NO restrictions, just extra points to use on any purchase of $3 (b4 tax) or more.
Surprise bonus points will always tell you what they can be redeemed on. Like I got $3,000 points towards a toy purchase of $10 or more. And $5 in points will be credited to my acct on any $30 apparel purchase.
