I paid big $$$ for a chi dryer that lasted less than one year. I called he company and they wanted me to send it back to them and a $15 for them to mail me a replacement! Really?!?
Amazon has similar comments.
I loved it while it lasted but my Vidal
Sassoon and consist from target lasted way longer!!!
The quality of CHI products has decreased so much. I use to love CHI but not anymore 🙁 I don’t know what happened to them.
They got bought out and changed their plates on their irons to cheaper plates.
I meant conair.
A touch screen hair dryer? Why…
I love CHI products but I paid $5 for my current conair hair dryer 5 years ago. Use it almost daily still.
Ditto. Paid $12 for a hair dryer years ago and it still runs daily!
Products in this price range are for the professional. There’s a big difference in the performance of Conair and Chi blow dryer. But for the non professional, Conair is fine.
I am a hairstylist and I buy all of my things from cosmoprof which is not open to the public and I have both of these in the salon so they are good quality! I like Paul Mitchell equipment more but my chi works just fine and I still use and have my chi from high school which is like close to 8 years old
Keep your receipt! Ulta has a pretty good return policy, though I don’t remember the exact details they pretty much take anything back with a receipt. I bought a Chi flat iron last May (5/8/2013 I think) and it seemed like it wasn’t heating as well anymore. I had tucked the receipt into the box and kept it because I, too, had noticed that Chi isn’t the high-quality brand it used to be. Just last week, Ulta exchanged my flat iron, no questions asked.
I use to love Chi equipment but when I wore out 3 blow dryers in 2 years I decided no more. I get my blow dryer, curling irons and flat iron from my stylist.
OMG $199 for a blow dryer !! I think NOT lol
I have been trying to take the time to use a hair dryer to blow-out my hair with a round brush every day rather than the daily direct extreme heat of a flat iron, over and over. A really nice hair dryer like this, with great reviews and the potential to be more effective, save me time, and reduce frizz and add a nice sleek look is WELL worth the money! It’s hard to find the motivation to dry my hair every day as I have children and my hair is long… a product that would work very well, save me time and give me great results would be worth the initial investment. Plus I love CHI products!
CHI is a professional brand, they are made to work all day 4-7 days a week. That is why it’s so expensive. I am a stylist and even when I do blow outs all day Saturday my dryer does not overheat or show any signs of wear. For at home I use my $50 Cricket dryer and love it! Unless you and your 5 daughters are going to use this dryer everyday, you will be fine with a cheaper but still quality brand dryer.
