I know everyone always submits photo of their children joining in on their couponing but my biggest achievement has been getting my husband involved. He’s been very into it lately, getting great deals on pop, cereal, soups and even on sports drinks. He averages a 50-60% savings which is not too shabby for a newbie – this is one proud wife! 😊

HAPPY FRIDAY! 😀

    This is awesome!!!! 🙂

  2. Madsmom

That’s awesome! My husband pays attention to deals and will even use coupons now! It’s great!

  3. Me

That’s awesome. My husband would rather spend the money then to spend time clipping coupons. Lol

    • Peggy

Mine too. He thinks couponing is stupid. I’ve showed him the savings and still

I don’t know how to get him on board.

  4. Melissa

    And he is cute too!

    • Jess

Right =) You Are A Lucky Woman To Have Such A Great Hunny

    • Erin K

He’s totally cute, you are so lucky !!!!

      • Vanessa

        I love those dimples!!!

    • lauren

I was thinking the same thing! Lol

  5. Jennifer

That is wonderful!! My hubby is learning how much money we can save if we really try. He’s amazed! It’s so much easier when both people are on board. 😉

    • RB

Uhuh. Some weeks much of what I spend time running around to save on he undermines me by not using a coupon to get his haircut, etc. He is definitely coupon-phobic.

  6. kare

You need a double like button for this one!

  7. Mels

That’s great! My husband clips my coupons for me every Saturday/Sunday and he walks around target looking at what kind of deals are going on, while I do my shopping listed #teamm :-))

  8. Dc

Awesome! I give my husband coupons to use sometimes and I don’t think he ever uses them. I think it would embarrass him to use a coupon although he loves it when I tell him about the deals I get and the money I saved.

    • Deb

I think we are married to the same guy! 😉

      • Dc

        LOL…. Hmmm…it’s a possibility, my hubby does travel a lot 😉

        • Lori G

          Hilarious!

        • Z

Is he going to NY as well? 😉

    • RB

Yup. He says he’s embarrassed and that something always goes wrong with the coupons (which seems to have happened a lot lately with coupons left off due to scanner errors, doubling inconsistencies, etc)….but once he came home and told me that the cashier remarked that she was impressed, and he was proud to tell her that I was the one who did all the work.

  9. Yesenia

Woo Hoo! That’s my husband 😀

    • Jodi

It’s awesome that he shops at Cub. It’s great he’s saving that much without any Cub-specific deals list on Hip2Save. Midwesterners would love to see Cub deals since we have no Krogers or RiteAid.

      • Laura

Creativecouponing.com and pocketyourdollars.com both have Cub food match ups although neither site is nearly as thorough, organized, or downright good as Hip2save.com!!

  10. Barb J

you should be proud. that is awesome

  11. Tiffany

I love it! Saving with the spouse is the best!

  12. Harlow

Yesenia, gr8 job getting the hubby onboard! Awesome!!!:)

  13. Alex

So cute! Love it when hubbies are on board. A while back I was at Target when the Easter stuff was at 90%. A Target employee saw me and was showing me some things and giving me tips. It was a middle-aged gentleman, and I commented on what a savvy shopper he must be. He said and I quote “My wife has trained me well.”

    • Leighton

      Cute!

  14. Jacki

    So sweet!

  15. April

That’s great!! I can’t get my husband to use coupons, but he’s finally starting to see just how much we’re saving.

  16. Ray

Sweet! My hubby always always encourages me to use coupons. High 5 for you guys!

  17. Kris

I think 50-60% is pretty good for anyone, really…or maybe I’m just not getting very good deals. CVS is the only store I save a huge amount at.

  18. Roksana

Handsome and a couponer! Now that’s a combination you can’t beat 😉 So cute that is getting great deals that he can enjoy too!

  19. Lisa K.

That’s awesome! you’ve got to love a hubby who gets on the couponing bandwagon! 🙂

  20. Maria s

Mine uses coupons too, and we always joke about how I’ve created a monster. Lol.

  21. J

I always get nervous to send mine with coupons cause he may lose some. But he definitely does shop the sales so I take what I can get lol

  22. MJ

Not that is a real MAN!!!! Nice story 🙂

  23. Lubbna

My hubby is one of a kind he will certainly lose the coupon that I gave him and will some how bring the things that are totally not the ones listed hahaaa

  24. JA

How awesome! Teamwork! Good for you guys!

  25. kim

You are lucky ,my husband never want to touch coupons ……and the more I try to save, the more he spend …..huhu

  26. Edy

Mine, only enjoys giving stuff from my stockpile 😳 ! I been cuponing for 17 years and my girls 26,25,22,22 and grandchild love that I can get good brands and they can get from my stockpile I’m cuponing getting everything for my mom. I will not bring nothing else inside my house / and give so much away to a center for special kids thanks to everyone on their tips

  27. Johanna

I am looking for sport drinks deal, any suggestions, thank you

  28. You

    Omg too cute

  29. Layla

So cool! Mine doesn’t get involved but says he don’t complain if i can save money!

    • Melanie

Mine too, having a hubby who can save u even more money is a dream for me. Could only imagine the savings I could have if I had more on board

  30. Meghan F.

My husband and I go to Target together for our weekly haul. We split up the coupons so he doesn’t get overwhelmed and stays in task mode! It’s helpful our Target is next to Home Depot! He’s encouraging about my couponing endeavors so we can stay within our grocery budget. A great word of advice he gave me once when I was frustrated: “Remember, it’s our money not the cashier’s that we’re spending. We’re not criminals because we coupon.” Thanks Sweetie!

  31. Leighton

Handsome and a saver! Wonderful combination.

  32. Misti

My husband won’t really help he would also rather just pay the price. However I did get him to start using coupon codes for on line shopping :). It was really cute when he looks himself then asks me to double check.

    • Danielle

Too funny! My husband is not yet on the couponing bandwagon, but a couple weeks ago he was ordering Domino’s online and asked me where he should look for the coupon codes! Progress!

  33. Nicole

Mine recently mastered walgreens and cvs in his own. I was so proud. I never asked him to do it but he shops at both for convenience so he started stealing my q’s and getting things we use when he sees them in the ad. It was awesome!

  34. Jennifer

The only coupon my husband will use is the 20% off and free items at Harbor freight. I think that’s progress, lol.

  35. Heather

My husband basically hates the entire process. He would rather just pay. But lately, he has been sending me sales he sees online and asking if I have coupons for certain stuff so I can’t complain. I do the shopping anyways so I don’t think he minds when I come home with a million bags and money to spare still. We don’t necessarily save it, he lets me keep the money that’s saved from groceries and everything to go to a spa or something but its nice to be able to do that once a week! I’m not complaining

  36. Jennifer A

Haha my boyfriend loves hearing about my deals (or maybe he’s really good at pretending he does!), but he refuses to use coupons himself… he said he feels “cheap”! He’s even against rewards programs, like the walgreens balance rewards, even though he shops there frequently! Crazy man! 🙂

  37. Coby

I don’t really post here, but I’ve followed for a while. I am a man, married with two kids. The wife stays home and we share the couponing. I am definitely the more extreme couponer, but I also bring home stuff we don’t always need just because it was free or nearly free.

    Thanks BTW.

    • jac

Thanks for sharing, Coby! Couponing takes a special skill set, not a specific gender. Thanks for going against the (apparent) grain.

      • Lisa

Couponing is like any subject you would learn in school. It’s about education. Some people benefit more because they have great memories (all deals and rebates I come across are stored in my head), or math skills, but the most successful couponers have motivation, perseverance and patience. And THAT does not discriminate by gender, age, or otherwise.

  38. penny

    Hubba hubba yer hubby!

  39. Heather C

If I send my husband with a specific breakdown of the coupon price along with the coupon, he will TRY, but will often “screw it up” one way or another- well, at least the man TRIES, right? But right after our tax return arrived, we had a leak outside in the front yard. He called a local reputable plumber. As it turns out, it was the main water line, and cost $6k to repair. BUT…I had my tax return, AND….the man found a $300 coupon online for this too. This must be the “coupon of the year,” right? I’ve certainly never used at $300 coupon!!!! He’s obviously amazing, even if he screws up the little deals :O)

  40. Anne

Awesome! I just sent my husband to Rite Aid (it’s next to his dry cleaner) to get the free Colgate and the Pirates Booty 2/$4 with a $1 +Up. We’ll see how he does, but he’s willing to try! He also scouts around his office to pick up extra inserts for me on Monday morning from the Sunday papers they order for each floor. 🙂

  41. Kristina

    Awesome…and cute hubby too! 🙂

  42. Laura

Awesome! My husband used to make fun of my coupons and say it was a waste of time. ..now before we buy anything (anything! ) he asks if I have a coupon for it!

  43. jhnicole

Your hubby is handsome lol.my fiance uses coupons on his phone.he looks for deals on his sneakers.sometimes he spends sometimes he saves I’m happy when he saves.he knows the savings of coupons from me I’m obsessed with it.

  44. Kami

My hubby will not go by himself and use coupons, but he will go with me and push the cart and wrangle all four kids. 🙂 Most of our stores have a limit of 20 coupons that they will double in an transaction, and if there is a good sale I will give him a stack of coupons and tell him what the end total should be and he will go through another line. That way I/we don’t have to hit multiple stores. He is very supportive and even unloads and puts the groceries away when we get home. Well that and he loves to spend the money I save on man toys!!!! I really can’t blame him because I do too. 🙂 And because my hubby is like that my oldest boy (who is 9) will grab a few coupons of stuff that he likes and will go through the line with his own money he earned from doing big chores.
