I have a question for Target shoppers who go to the store. In previous trips to Target, when I have used a coupon for a free item, not to exceed, say $3.99, Target has always just taken $3.99 off my bill, regardless of whether the item is more or less than $3.99. Last night, this didn’t happen.
Does anyone know if this is a new policy? Was I always just “lucky” when I shopped and I was given the full value of the coupon? I’m curious if anyone else is experiencing this. Thanks for the information!
Oh, this happened in a Florida store…Vierra, to be exact.

its getting lucky, Target and most stores policy is that the coupon is not to exceed the price of the product.Off the top of my head Walmart will apply the overage to your other items. hth

I have had that happen … I had some buy an olay moisturizer and get free cleanser and the coupon took off $10 and the cleansers were $6 .. It did that for both.. And there was the time the digorno pizza b2g1 coupon and they were on sale for $5 the coupon took off $7.. I went back and got some more and a different cashier adjusted coupon down and said she didn’t know why it always took off max amount. I haven’t had any free coupons I have used since then

      I think it just depends on the cashier );

    • Tammy Pottorff

Ya really depends on cashier most of the time at my Target the cashier will adjust it down 🙁

      • mel

It really does depend on the cashier. Sometimes they will verify the purchase by scrolling up the screen and entering the price that’s showing. Other times they just hit the K1 button and it takes off the max value. I

I have had my eye on the C9 flip flops for $12.99. there is a buy one get one 50% off sale going on for C9. How do you think this would work together? Has anyone tried this? Thanks!

    • Kari

It should work. You would both for around 11.50. Plus tax.

    • Minah

Not sure it will work on the C9’s. I noticed on the cartwheel offer it does not mention C9 brand.

      • Annette

It works fine for C9. I scanned the C9 flip flops with the cartwheel app and it comes up with the coupon. I bought two pairs today, got the 50% off the second pair and the 40% off cartwheel. Great deal!

    • Liz

Just scan the item from Cartwheel to know whether it will deduct of that item. I always do that if I’m unsure it’s good on that item

I have a another question for Target shoppers. I purchased shampoo last week, but see that it is $2 cheaper this week. Will Target do a price adjustment?

    • Katie

Yes just go to customer service with your receipt.

    • Sara

Molly, Target will price adjust provided your item is not a clearance item and unfortunately Target considers 15% off sales to be clearance and this is how they get around price adjustments. This has been my experience at Target but can you report back on this? Thank you!

Dumb question…are the type with straps in back considered “flip flops”

    • Lauren

I don’t think so. And it’s not a dumb question!

I still have a 5/25 shoe purchase not sure if its expired or not as its outside in the car. Assuming its still valid and doesn’t exclude sandals, do yoy guys know if it will work with cartwheel? And if so, how? Do I have to buy more than 25 to make up.the difference cartwheel will take off?

    • Amy T.

Cartwheel normally comes off after Target store coupons, no matter what order you give them in. So, in order to use your coupon, you would need to spend $25, then you would get the Cartwheel off the remaining $20 after the coupon. HTH

      • mel

It depends on how the $/$$ comes off. The last time I had a “threshold” coupon, there was also a 40 or 50% off for kids clothing. The $5/$25 came off on the bottom of my receipt and the % took off the reg price. So I got ta really sweet deal since CW did not factor in with the $/$$!

    • Mel b

I just did this. Get to $25 before cartwheel. The coupon comes off first then the cartwheel.

I contacted corporate last week to clarify using a price match with a MF coupon that is greater in value than item since my target would only price match and then rejected use of MF coupon. Corporate said it is the discretion of the store to either zero out the balance or reject coupon all together.

    did the 2 pairs of c9 12.99-bogo 1/2 plus 40% cartwheel =$11.68 for 2 pairs
