Tomorrow, June 28th only, Old Navy will be hosting their very popular $1 Flip Flop Sale where all solid-colored flip flops are on sale for only $1! Since this sale tends to be very popular, I would recommend that you get to your local Old Navy store when it first opens to have the best selection of colors and sizes.

If you’re an Old Navy, Gap, or Banana Republic Credit Cardholder, you can shop the pre-sale today, June 27th!

(Thanks, Laura!)

Just FYI- this doesn’t include baby flip flops (at least at my store in Atlanta). On their FB page people asked if babies’ sizes are included and they kept responding for the whole family. I was quite disappointed this morning, wish they would have made this clearer!

      Which Atlanta store

Old Navy doesn’t even donate their own stuff, they throw it in their dumpster.

I read an article about a coat drive outside Burlington factory where people could donate coats for a coupon. And the employees were pitching brand new Burlington coats in the dumpster! But yes, old navy throws out their clothes. Kinda sad.

Unfortunately, they are not the only store that does that. Some stores destroy the clothing with paint and scissors before tossing things out and, in the food world, some restaurants and grocers call the cops if people go dumpster diving or even put locks on the dumpsters. I am sure that some of the reason for the dumpster locks and calling the cops has to do with liability concerns, but the waste makes me so sad. (I have worked in the past for the food center in my city.)

Meg if you don’t get some I’m happy to send you mine (if you wear size 9! Lol!)

I made the mistake of going to this sale in the past. It was a horrible and dangerous experience. My mom had to stand away from the mosh pit otherwise they would have trampled her. Never again.

Last year, our Old Navy had a line out the door running all the way down the shopping plaza! Not worth it to me, but others don’t seem to mind.

I’m a cardholder but would rather pay cash, can I still do the presage flipflops today? TIA

I am still good on flops from last year, (they hold up really well) But now I want to jump in the old navy dumpster, 😉

      Lol!

I don’t see the big deal – I mean these same ones are sold at the dollar tree and .99 cents store – and kmart for $1….the quality is not much a difference

I’m not being negative. I’m all for donating, I do it frequently and as my pocketbook allows. But the limit for the promo is 5 PER PERSON. ‘Nuff said.

Went early afternoon and there were limited colors in my size (size 7). They have the flip flops in boxes divided by size. But do check the wall racks which make it easier to look for sizes in the color you like. I spoke to a ON staff and they said you can pay for 5 at a time but will have to line again to pay for another 5 (or you can have a family member stand in line to help speed things up). Be careful everyone as you shop. A woman was standing in line ready to pay and then realized her wallet was stolen 🙁 This is in Queens NYC.

I agree! The amount of perfectly good items that go to waste is insane. I was in target today and found a cute faux leather chair that didn’t have a price tag. The employee I talked to said the chair had to be destroyed because it’s no longer carried in-store. They wouldn’t even let me buy it 🙁

I’ve heard if this with more expensive brands like loui vouiton they destroy there products that are left over because if they sold them at a discount ever it would lessen the value of the brand which is how they get away with charging an outrageous amount for bit even real leather purses. I think this is all extremely wasteful especially ON which has casual comfortable clothing that could help a lot of people.

Personally I don’t like the flip flops. On my pool deck, they slip and slide and I’m afraid someone would hurt themselves. I tossed the ones I bought for my kids last year after I almost fell.

I love the old navy flip flops. fyi – A Boy Scout talked our local whole foods into donating leftover produce and bread twice a week. But it takes volunteers to pick up food at 10:00 pm and drive to the Salvation Army (about 20 miles). My husband and his friend volunteered the other night. The food gets thrown out if no one can help!

Thank Colin! I went to the store around 11AM and it was busy, but plenty of colors and sizes left. I was in and out in 10 minutes. I was surprised about the quality too. I was expecting cheap thin flip flops and these look very decent. Thx!
