Don’t forget Ebates or SavingStar like I did. SS has 10% and Ebates id 6%, I believe.

    • Angela

Oh thanks! I always forget that for Groupon!

      • Morna

You’re welcome! I was mad at myself after I remembered, lol.

    • Kanani

You can get Swagbucks with Groupon too.

DARN – I just renewed my Sam’s membership in the store!

    • Tara

They will refund you your money no questions asked. That is what I was told last month.

    • Andrea

Don’t be mad it wasn’t valid for renewals anyways lol

I received a free membership in the mail a few weeks ago. I wasn’t really impressed with anything in the store, it all seemed over priced compared to what I usually pay with coupons. What is everyone buying to make the membership worth while? Everything seemed way more expensive than what I would ever pay. What is the appeal, because I am excited to get a year free, but lost because I’m not seeing any savings.

I buy very little with coupons since we do not eat much pre-prepared or processed foods. I buy produce, milk, cheese, spices, meat, garbage bags, linens which are a great price, clothing, books and often find gifts there. Sam’s saves us tons of money on the way that we shop.

I have never been that impressed with Sam’s Club either. Here and there you may a find a few good deals, but you have to be in there just at the right time. Even if the membership was totally free, it would be one of the last places that I would shop. I find that Amazon is way cheaper on most things (especially when they have a good deal) and they deliver to my door. I think Amazon has totally spoiled me:)!

Milk, meat, eggs, fruit, toilet paper (member mark’s tp is the best and always cheap. No need to wait for coupons), etc.

rotisserie chicken $4.88 each and they are big! I use them to make chicken avocado salad, spring roll, quick soup.

I agree that some stuff are over priced. But I like shopping there for clearance ANYTHING. I just like going and browsing the store for items with price ending in 91 cents. I usually get a lot of clothing this way, women’s and men’s tops usually go as low as $4.91 per item.
Another thing I like to do is shop at different Sam’s when I am traveling because they discount their merchandise at different times.
I consider Sam’s like a Ross or Marshalls, you buy things that you don’t really need but are nice or brand name.
I don’t do my grocery shopping here. Their TP, trash bags, cheese cakes, cakes in general, rotisserie chickens are pretty reasonable.

I buy extra virgin coconut oil ($10 cheaper than on Amazon), as well as toilet paper and paper towels. Sometimes EVOO. Sometimes produce for when I’m hosting a crowd.

It is great they have promotions for new customers! Wish Sam’s would offer specials for renewals for loyal existing costumers.

  5. Just Me

Barb I feel the same. I usually get frozen broccoli, fresh chicken, hamburger, bread and maybe clearance items after Christmas. I’m new to coupon ing so I don’t know if those are deals but that’s my 2 cents. Oh spices I think are a better deal and 18pack eggs

  6. Heather

What if I had a membership but it expired last month? Would that be a renewal still???

  7. Susan

If you haven’t grabbed this deal, definitely do it before it expires. Not only did I get the FREE stuff listed in the groupon, when I logged into the http://www.samsclub.com/instantsavings site, I loaded coupons for a FREE ROTISSERIE CHICKEN, FREE 12 count package of CROISSANTS and FREE container of cranberry pecan CHICKEN SALAD!

    • Christine

Where can these coupons be found on the page?

    • Britt

Where exactly did you find this? I got the deal last month and didn’t even know about this savings site.

    • Leslie

I just did this and have like 5 free items + $5 off apples, $3 off water, etc. Thank you so much for sharing this!
