How does this company make money? They send me free codes all the time, two last week alone…..I never pay for a film. I am worried about their business model. How in the world do they make money?
Let’s just say not everyone returns the DVD the next day 😉

Yeah I had a blu ray movie a kept a day over with a free code from last week. I think I kept the hunger days for a full 3 days over a while ago.
Ha! I’ve always thought the same thing! I can’t remember the last *year* I actually had to pay for one.
They make plenty of money off me!! I always forget to return my movies and end up playing $25 per movie…I have decided the free codes aren’t worth it for me…I’m too forgetful.
Yes they do make money , we rent the movie and forget to return it back. Sometimes we return it after 3-4 days 🙁 so there must be more folks like us..

My daughter and her boyfriend must have at least 20 redbox movies that they never returned. They are making money. It’s the same as how many people do you think actually turn in rebates? Very few. Otherwise the company wouldn’t offer them.
I have been informed previously re: Redbox or Blockbuster kiosks that retailers pay them a fee to have the box at their store. (Consequently, some of their promos are only valid at certain locations.)
Yes the code works directly at the kiosk as well as reserving online/on app! 🙂

You can turn it in as last as 9:15. I haven’t tried any later but I had to wait for slow renters one night and worried I would get charged a late fee.
And remember you can return it anywhere there is a redbox. Not the unit you rented it from. Some people don’t know that. It makes it easier to return IMO.

Just a heads up. The SUNSHINE code can be used for a free Blu-ray as well. Noticed when I was about to check out online that total read $1.50. So cancelled dvd, added Blu-ray and voila, free.
How many can you rent this time? Last time we could rent 5 DVDs for separate transactions…..
