Are you a current Zapper?

If so, a Zapiddy upgrade is required as the old version of Zapiddy will no longer work. In order to resume Zapping (and making money while you shop), head on over to the iTunes App Store and download the latest Zapiddy.

Not familiar with Zapiddy?

Zapiddy is a free iPhone app that pays users for their insights and observations. Usually related to shopping, Zapiddy questions often ask about product pricing, display appearance and other in-store activity enabling you to earn money while you shop! A typical Zapiddy job pays about $4 for a small handful of questions and possibly a photo or 2 – maybe 4 minutes of work when you’re in the store. And then Zapiddy pays via PayPal.

For example, Zappers recently earned money for helping to document sampling stations at Publix stores.

Shhhhh please! We don’t need more competition in my area.

    • Delia

      My thoughts exactly

    • Heather

Completely agree. There is already too much competition and not many jobs to go around. So, now there’s just going to be even more competition…

I wish they had an android version…

    I need it on Android!!!!!!

Reviews are really bad for this app. Does anyone use anything else? Specifically android users?

  5. silvia

yes, we need an android version

One thing to consider with this app is only one person is paid per job location. If another person gets there before you, there is no payment. I have drove to jobs before, tried to start, and it says another Zapper beat me to it!

If you live in a rural area, don’t even bother downloading this app. There are never, ever jobs available.

That right up there is fact.
      Here’s some more—
      1. I have been using this app since early October 2013.
      2. I have made $13.00
      3. I made 2 of those dollars off of them sending out $1 jobs worried that the masses (their users) might not be smart enough to update the app and then not smart enough to know how to use the app after they updated.
      4. I have checked this app religiously daily. Sometimes multiple times since I use many apps.
      5. You CAN NOT reserve a job so if someone submits it before you…..congrats…welcome to the day late-dollar short club.
      6. No matter how good the app is…you’ll never get rich off of it. So try to have fun with it because it’s the only guaranteed gain you’ll get from it.

Went to their site via link above to check them out. The review (the only two displayed) were horrible:

I’ve been doing work for Zappiddy for about a year. Every time I do more than one job in a day, some of my jobs “disappear” and I never get paid. For example, last weekend after they made a big deal, over nothing, stating they were having major improvements, I decided to give them a try again. I did a total of 13 jobs for them over 3 days. I was paid for 7, 1 they had so many glitches I was never able to submit the job after doing all the work, and 5 I still haven’t been paid for and I’m not holding my breath I ever will. When you do the math – that really cones out to about $2.15 a job. Not worth it. And, they have no support. There are so many other apps out there that have work and pay, it’s best to keep moving and pass this one by. My guess is the few positive comments on here are from employees, family and friends.

    New update/new app glitchy

It freezes and crashes a lot. It freezes sometimes when searching for jobs, other times it it’s during a job, and sometimes it’s after a job. Crashing after a job isn’t so bad but the crash during a job or after you complete the job but before you submit is the worse! Needs fixing. It makes a 5-10 minute job last up to 45 minutes plus. 3 bucks for an hour of my life to do a job and 10-15% battery drain… Not good

I don’t know about others but I haven’t had any problems with the app. There are few things to consider though
      – The app design is just basic so if you are looking for highly good looking app with different settings or multiple screens you will be disappointed
      – smaller areas have few jobs so this is a factor to consider
I have done at max 3 jobs in a day – $4 each and I was paid without any problem
      – they do have a support. sometimes back one of my jobs payment was pending so I dropped email to them and they not only replied but also made the payment immediately
      – I am not sure if there is only one job per location because in one my my email communication with the support, I was told that the job are limited and sometimes it happens that by that time you go for completing the job, the max jobs are complete.
      – They do need to improve the app but whatever they have now, they are giving me something so I dont have any issues with them
      – I also live in a smaller town so I get comparatively less jobs but still I could make about 45-50 bucks last year
I would say go and give it a try. If you don’t like, you can always delete the app 🙂

To see additional reviews (which tally up to 3.5 stars) look at the “All Versions” tab under Customer Ratings. The new version has very few (3?) reviews and could well be trolls who trash apps for a living.

I’ve had this app for about 1 1/2 years and I’ve made $12 from it. Its obviously not something to use if you want to make a lot of money, but the way I see it is every little bit helps. Besides, I only look for jobs when I’m going to be out and about running errands and only if it’s near one of the locations I will be going to. I have been paid for all my jobs and have never experienced any glitches or problems. I have always been paid within a few hours of completing a job.

I made $19 while my DD was at drama camp last week. I didn’t drive all over just a couple stores right there near her camp while I waited. Sometimes they do take several weeks to process payment but I’ve always been paid. It’s actually an easy app to use and the money comes through eventually. I would caution against driving far for a job as it can be “zapped” by someone else before you get there and you don’t get notified before you open and try which can be a pain.
