What do other Hipsters think of Julep? Reviews are totally mixed – some love these Beauty Boxes and others have not been impressed at all. If you have ordered from Julep in the past, feel free to share your thoughts below![/h2s_box]
(Thanks, Pooja!)
Do you have to call and cancel? Or are you able to do it online?
I did it by email & it worked. Otherwise you have to call.
I’m creating an account and when I go to log in it’s telling me it’s invalid! Is this not working from mobile??
Has anyone tried them? If so, what has your experience been? Thanks for sharing!!!!!
I wasn’t impressed by the quality. The brush was really cheap and the polish was watery.
Thank you for letting me know Jean.
Had julep for the longest time and it was way better when they let you skip as many boxes as you wanted. Now they only let mavens skip like 3 boxes a year or something. Cancellation process is a pain in the butt! Long waits to speak to a human to cancel. Fortunately i emailed and told them to cancel it and they did for me but i hear they dont always allow that.
I was not impressed with the quality of the nail polish. One was super watered down and would not coat. The other was thick but smelled like mold. I was able to cancel via email.
When you cancel make sure you get a confirmation it took three times before they actually stopped sending me boxes. I had to buy the first one because they said they had no way of knowing if I actually canceled. They refunded the other ones after I threw a fit and I had to make then delete my credit card info from their records.
just a trip from me, when I sign up for anything like this, I use one of those prepaid visa or mastercards ….usually get $100 one at fred meyer or target. That way if the company is shady, won’t cancel, has poor product, they have no access to any of your “real” financial information
Most definitely!! I’ve used a prepaid card for anything that requires a subscription for better prices. I used it for the recent Gevalia promo, Puritan’s Pride, and a monthly snack box called “Graze” (pretty good quality, not sure about the price though).
Be VERY CAREFUL with this company! They have LOTS of complaints! Very difficult to cancel, and they seem to pick and choose who they will notify ahead of time about sending the package. I never got notification. I checked spam, trash, etc. They kept lying about it and then said that it didn’t matter anyway, because the email notification is just a courtesy anyway, and not something you should expect.
In December last year, I went away, so I didn’t really remember about the subscription. I always checked my emails though, and I was absolutely positive that they did not send me a warning email. However they shipped the box already and I couldn’t do anything about it, so I cancelled right after that.
I’ve posted this here before but I like to warn people as best I can. Used one of the shimmer glittery polishes and it was like using the asphalt they pave the roads with. Getting it off took an eternity, tons of acetone and cotton balls. I had it on for about 10 days or so and my nails are finally growing out. They looked like the toenails of a 90yo who needs to see a podiatrist.
Thanks everyone for commenting on this, I decided not to purchase because of the experiences shared on here!
i wish you would post the special terms at the beginning of the post instead of the end!
I have been with them for only a couple months, but I have been happy. I have gotten some great polishes. Love the colors, great other products as well & you can change your monthly shipment to skincare products rather than polish. They have a wonderful facial cleanser. Also, best cuticle oil I have ever used. Read the descriptions of the polishes – some of the glitter polishes are rough and meant to be, OPI has a similar product, others are smooth. I am not a glitter person but they also have polishes that have a shimmer, which I have worn to work and feel fine as it is not so party like. I haven’t tried to cancel so I can’t comment on that part of the process. I also like the shape & size of the bottles.
