You need more than a six-month warranty on these things, in my opinion. I have an Animal and twice (expensive!) random things went wrong during its usual five-year warranty period. And apparently they were both very common to Dysons because both reps immediately understood the problems despite my difficulties explaining them.
I was just coming here to say the same. It was at about two years that problems developed for us.
I am always tempted to buy them at this price, but the one I own was an ebay refurb and it was never very good. It would vacuum, but I had to double pass for some loose random things that a good vacuum would not miss. I was not sure if it was faulty or not, because there was suction, and it seemed to work ok, just nothing special. Also, I had ordered it while we were gone for several months because of my husbands work, and so by the time I figured there must be something wrong and I called, the warranty was over.
BTW, what is the tangle free tool? Hair is always stuck on my dyson!
Hate my Dyson.
I LOVE my Dyson!! I bought this model new from Kohls almost two years ago, no issues with mine.
I bought this same refurbished one from this eBay seller a few months ago and am in love with it! It looked like it was brand new when I opened the box. I vacuum daily and aside from issues that were my fault (vacuuming up things that should have been and clogged the hose), it has been a dream.
Bought mine new and wasn’t wowed. 🙁 And don’t believe the “never loses suction” claims. When I took mine for repairs, the authorized Dyson repairman told me it had nowhere near the suction it should. . . . A $120 tuneup later, I noticed no difference.
Our vacuum just gave out so this was good timing-I just bought this Dyson with the 2 year warranty offer, total was $247.98. Here’s to hoping we don’t get a lemon!
Bought mine at big lots for 80 dollars I am in love with it !! I think it completely worth the retail price
I have an Dyson animal dc 17 and love it. It is 9 or 10 years old and about a year ago I noticed reduced suction and it just wasn’t vacuuming like before. I was on the fence about just buying a new Dyson but after reading reviews and doing research we figured out we had a clogged cyclone assembly. After prying it apart we could see why it wasn’t operating like before. It was clogged with hair, dust, gunk. But we could not put it back together so we bought a new cyclone assembly from amazon for $70 and it is like a brand new vacuum. A repair shop alone wouldn’t even diagnose the problem for that amount. Just an idea for some who might be thinking about just throwing an older model away for a newer one. Glad we did not.
i’m impressed. thanks for sharing
