Happy Friday: 30 Gifts for 30th Birthday

You are looking at a heaping pile of 30 gifts for my husband’s 30th birthday!
As a kid, my husband never had a big birthday celebration so I had always planned that his first “big” birthday after we got married I would make a big bash! Well, as fate happens, we were living in a small apartment and I was in middle of a difficult pregnancy so I decided to gift 30 presents which I was able to buy from at home instead.
Starting from around 3 months before his big day, I took advantage of many of the sales and deals posted on Hip2Save: $50 off $100 Carson/Bonton, stacking codes and Kohls cash on Kohls, points back offers on Sears, free items and $ off on Shutterfly and of course like a true Hipster I only shopped from the clearance section. The presents included a Kenneth Cole laptop/work bag , Calvin Klein belt, Panasonic digital photo frame key chain, London Fog umbrella, collar stay gift set, Jelly Belly Uno game, Jockey lounge set, photo gifts along with some homemade items like the candy card once featured on this blog, baked goods and homemade cards from the kids, just to name a few.
All in all I spent about $125 in total (which was close to the price of just the laptop bag itself!) and the birthday was a huge success. The look on my husbands face when he saw that pile was priceless! Thanks for all you do!

That is truly awesome! I hope to be able to do this with Christmas presents for my family and in-laws. I’d do this for my hubby but I’m never able to hide his presents from him for more than a week! Lol

Makes me feel bad for not doin something extra special like this for my hubby’s 30th last year. It was good, some decorations. I’m Not the best host. Introverted. So I feel it went awful. People are always welcome just need someone else to get the fun goin 😉
Jennine, I know how it is to be introverted. Don’t worry,it’s the thought that counts as cliche as that sounds and more importantly, it’s not just about one birthday or one day. It’s how you are the other 364 days a year… I’m sure your husband, family, and friends feel the love behind all you do no matter how big or small:)
I’m introverted also so I feel ya. But that is what is so great about a party. Just invite people and then they make all the fun!

For my husband’s 30th, I asked friends and family to write a little note to him. Then I put each person’s note along with a picture of them with him on individual pages of a scrapbook. He said it was his best gift ever. I think I’m going to steal Elsee’s idea for his 40th. Very nice!!

This is such an awesome idea! My husband will be 40 next year and I would love to do this for him. Harbor Freight always has free items, I know I could stock him up with a few free tools.
I threw my husband a big bash 90s theme for his 30th. Complete with a DJ with karaoke and only one person sang, him.

A couple of years ago I did this for my husbands 33rd birthday. His birthday is on the 13th so it was his “golden” birthday. It might be a Midwest thing. Since I didn’t get to spend it with him when he 13 or 23 I decided 33 was perfect. He LOVED it! Although I was 8 weeks pregnant and vomiting so I didn’t get to enjoy it as much!
I love the gorgeous simple table set up too.

I did something for a friend that was similar. He was a big fan of Mountain Dew so I bought 30 cans of it & on each one I put a printed sticker with a saying/fortune on it. That way he had something positive each day for the next 30 days.
