does anyone have insight on these for size, a 34″ large is almost 10″ larger than my head, that number can’t possibly be correct.
I just called to ask and they said those measurements were accurate…
Based on those measurements these hats were made for giants…?
I’m guessing the measurement was made on the exterior of the hat making it larger than your actual head.
Can someone help me with sizing? Would small be infant or toddler size? Just wondering if the children in the picture are wearing large or small? The details say •Small: 28″ circumference, 14″ high •Large: 34.5″ circumference, 15″ high

Are you on a computer or your phone? On the computer it shows up right under the size selection, there is a box to select and on the next page you can personalize it.
I’d love to buy one but I am confused too … maybe it is measured around the outside of the hat? I don’t want to end up with a bunch of hats that don’t fit. :\
We just went to the doctor and my 6 month old’s head measured at 16.14″. My own head measured at 21″. So it seems like the website could be incorrect.

Hmm, after reading the comments, I did the same, I bought both sizes. My son is 3 but he can grow into these. I come from a family of big heads lol
we bought the small last year.. and it is HUGE on my 4yo daughter… it fits the adults heads better… :/
I just called customer service & the guy said the circumference is the outside circumference of the hat not the inside where the head would be. I’d take at least 2-4 inches off the size. I think the small has to be small kids & the bigger one is older kids & adults. But that’s my guess. The customer service guy couldn’t tell me which one fits what size. 🙁

Every year it’s been a tradition for us to wear matching pajamas and I thought this would be really cute for us to have personalized hats. Being Pottery Barn I assume we’ll have them for every Christmas. 😉 Now off to search for some bargain pj’s 😉

I just measured my head and it’s 22.5 inches and I’m an adult. So even taking off 2-4 inches will be a small for me? That is still like 24 inches which would still be too big for my head? I wanted to order one for each of my kids and my husband and thought maybe the large for both of us and then the small for my kids that are ages 12 and 9? Not sure what to do? I hate to order and have them not fit either or be too big.

I got the small for my kids a few years ago (they were 9 months and 2) they fit just fine. I’m getting them larges now… they are so cute and excellent quality!
How old are your kids now? My twins are 3.5, but have larger heads (always in the 99 percentile). I’m thinking large might be better for them, just in case.

Got part of my order today…The small…The two large are in backorder and it says they will be shipped by 12/16…uhhh just in time for AFTER Christmas. 🙁 sucks! Our elf was going to being these for kids on thanksgiving night. Poop!!! As a side note the small fits my 22 minth old and is a bit roomy to grow into. The quality is also great!!! I just wish j had all 3

Pottery Barn being PB, seems odd to me once gets that email telling me: if you dont want it anymore, cancel it. No offer of a discount for a future purchase or a $5 gift card. Like they are not worried about losing people’s business 🙁
I just received my 2 Santa hats. One hat is fine but the other one has the embroidered name completely upside down. It sucks because I was going to use them for a Christmas photo. I called PB and they are refunding my money but I’d honestly just like the hat fixed.
