I wonder how they select value customers. I shop both kmart and sears regularly but have never once reserved the bonus points or free points… just curious how they pick people am I doing something wrong?
Same here, shopped 4x’s this month alone, and I never get the bonus points. Wonder if people can comment if they shop or not when they get points.
My husbands account never gets points and that’s the main one we use. Mine I never use and was getting lots of points. Now none. Hmmm…
Are you a bonus member? You need to be a bonus member to get bonus points/surprise points. Also need to opt in for emails from shop your way. Many people opt out or unsubscribe emails from shop your way, then automatically become a base member. Too many emails, but it’s good to be a bonus member. And don’t forget to add your birthday on the profile. You will get surprise points on your birthday.

I never received an email nor did the points or message saying I got them show on my account when I logged in to order boots for my son. To my surprise, at checkout, it applied $20 in surprise points 🙂

2 or 3 weeks ago I got an email saying I got 20,000 points. I checked my account and they didn’t show up. At the check-out I asked the cashier if I had the points and she said she saw nothing, but when I went to pay, she entered use points and it deducted $20. Check your email.

Try adding something to your cart and going to the checkout. I never get emails from them and they never show up in my account, but last week i went to go buy a pair of boots and when i added them to the cart my $20 in free points came up!
That is exactly what happened to me yesterday.
It happened to me too did not get the email nor was in the account butbi went to Kmart.com and a banner came up saying I had $20 for frew.
Nothing for me nor my boyfriend. Haven’t received a single one of these point offers lately! Very frustrating for a frequent shopper of both Sears and Kmart…
I didn’t get anything new. I still have an offer from last week, $3 off a $15 purchase at Kmart.
I don’t know if this helps anyone, but my points were not included in the usual place that my points are advertised (at top right hand section of the screen)
… but they were under my “surprise points”. I almost missed them!!
Where do you find “surprise points” at if they are not included under the usual place?
On your account page, after logging in, click on your points. The window that pops up will show points, to the right will be surprise points. It takes a minute to load and they’re changed the layout of the page recently.

Note some have stipulations. I checked my hubby’s account and he has $5 in surprise points but has to purchase $35 of merchandise in order to use them.
Sometime last week I think, I got $10 in points off a $50 purchase. Plus there was a sweepstakes and I got a $5 ecard. I was looking for a winter coat and got a knockout deal on a wiinter cost, reg $175 for $39.99. I also got a chinelle scarf, gloves and hat set. Total was over $50 but $10 discount didn’t apply because if partner offering. I went thru savingstar link and will get a percentage back so I still got a great deal!
Grr, seeing all these deals going on and for some reason I’m not getting them is so frustrating. I’m an amazon mom member and never got 30$ and I dont ever get these surprise points everrrr! Oh well, maybe some day i’ll be my turn. lol
Jennie, I would definitely contact Amazon! Their customer service has always been fantastic for me. Send them a quick e-mail and I bet they’ll give you the $30- definitely worth a minute of your time 🙂
I got 27 points last week.. I remember i bought 2 towels for 10 bucks i think and that was it last month.. I did not received that email but I was very very happy last week when i used those points! SYW is the best!

I got the 20,000 surprise points but when I click on details it says under the offer qualifier that is on $100.00 or more qualifying purchase. Bummer.

Kmart has been generous with the surprise points. Last week, I used a $15 and a $10/$30 which expired on 11/11. Upon checking out, the computer made it a hassle to use my surprise points. It took a half hour and 4 clerks later and for my trouble the nice customer service lady credited my account $10 SYWR points. The next day there was also a new batch of surprise points too: $10, $5 clothing and $3/10 toy which expire 11/21. Today, I received a $10 for my birthday. $38 worth of Christmas shopping will be happening here on Kmart’s dime… I am so grateful!
Thank you soo much for posting this. Christmas is always hard. I never would have checked and the surprise points weren’t listed with the regular points. I got the $20 in surprise points and already had another $5, so I got my son men’s football sock/slippers and an over-the-door glow-in-the-dark basketball hoop for free.
