Plus, if you’re a Walmart shopper, don’t forget to check out how Hip2Save readers, Brittany and Noelle, were able to score LeapFrog LeapReader Books for ONLY $3 today…

I hit up Walmart’s Pre-Black Friday TV and play dough sale this morning. While I was there, I also looked at the Leapreader books since they too were included in the sale at Walmart for $7. On the books were $4 coupon peelies making them $3 a piece! The work books were also included. Even better was that they had the Leapreader Jr. 6 book sets clearanced out at $7 which also had the peelies so they too came to $3 after the peelie (they were originally over $19 per set!). What a deal! Note that not all books are included in the sale – people will need to price check and not all books have peelies and some peelies on the books expired in 2013. Luckily all the ones I wanted had ones that expire at the end of the year!

I was at Walmart and noticed that the Leap Frog Tag Reader books are part of their early Black Friday deal today. Normally $9.96, they are marked down to $7 BUT then I was able to find coupons on some of the books for an ADDITIONAL $4 off!!! So I payed $3 for each book! I snagged 4 of them! [/h2s_box]

(Thanks, Heather!)

There is also $5 off on select books. I just got two for $10 and change shipped to the house! Thank you!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thank you SO much for letting me know about this awesome promotion, Amanda! I just added to the post!

      • amanda

No problem! Thanks for all that you do πŸ™‚

  2. Ashley

Wow great deal! I got 2 tag junior books for my 2 yr old for $6 total after the $5 off! Thanks for keeping up with all of these amazing deals!!

  3. klb685

The $5 will not stack – 4 books still only gives $5 off – but you can get the $5 off twice if you make two separate purchases. It will probably work as many times as you want. I have prime so I didn’t need to meet a shipping minimum so splitting my order took off $10 total dollars. Thanks for the heads up on the promotion, Katie!

  4. Kristina

I ordered volume 2(six books total) for $10 and volume 3(seven books total) for $10, then saved $5 off. Paid $15 for 13 books, which makes the cost $1.15

  5. Kat

Thank you so much! I didn’t want to make the trip to Walmart and was afraid they wouldn’t have peelies. I just got 2 books for $5.17 shipped (with prime).

  6. Colleen

Thanks! Now to dig out my oldest daughter’s Tag Reader!!!

  7. jesse

Help please. I’m new to all Leapster stuff. My son got LeapReader reading & writing system. That green looking pen thing. Will these sets work with it? I just see that it states”works with tag reader”. Help anyone. TIA

    • Erin

Yes. Leapreader and Tag are the same thing, just rebranded.

      • jesse

Thank you so much Erin for clearing that up for me. Much appreciated.

    • Myjaan82

There’s a difference. The pen is the tag. Some of these books are for the tag, some for tag jr.

      • Erin

Yes, there are Tag and Tag Juniors, which are for younger children. They rebranded Tag as Leapreader. Tag could be used on Tag Jr. books, though, so I bet Leapreader also works on Tag Jr.

  8. Kalynn

Does anyone know how many books you can have downloaded on Tag Junior? I am interested in buying the 4 pk with the frog, and either Minnie or Sofia, but that would be 5 books, and she already has 3 books downloaded to her Tag Junior (the one is just the sample book that came with the system so I don’t mind losing that one), but I doubt I can have 7 books on it, and I know if I download the frog books, I have to do all 4 together. Does any of this make sense? Haha it’s been s long day!

    • Erin

It depends on the book; some take up more space than others. We have two Tag readers and a Jr. and way more books than we can use with the pen at one time. You just “rotate” what’s on the reader. The other books can still be read/looked at without the pen.

      • Kalynn

Thanks Erin! I also did some googling and I keep seeing a lot of people say it will hold 5 books. So I just ordered the two single books (Minnie and Sofia) so I didn’t lose a ton of space to 4 books when she probably wouldn’t enjoy them all.

Thanks Collin! This was a great deal. I wanted to get out to Walmart today but I’m feeling terrible and just couldn’t get off the couch. I figured the prelims would be gone anyhow. This was even better ordering on my couch in my pajamas and getting 2 books for $6 when they are usually $7 each!!

        • Beth

FYI I found colored post it dots are a great organizer for this! Ie, blue dot one one pen with coordinating blue dots on the books, green for our second reader pen. Helps I can move them around as we rotate books.

  9. Cynthia

Does the regular Tag work with the Tag Jr. books?
I didn’t realize it could only store 5 books. I wonder how hard it is to rotate them on the Tag…

    • iampinspired

Yes! we use a tag on all of our tag jr books since it could hold more books!

  10. sita

  11. jessica

I cannot get the $5 off for two. Can someone help? What am i doing wrong?

  12. jessica

Cannot get it to work. Is there something you need to do?

  13. ashkoye

Is this deal still working? I get all the way to the “place your order” page and the $5 never comes off.

    • Erin

Yeah me too πŸ™ gonna try to contact customer service

      • Jo

I tried it on my phone, and it wasn’t working. Just hopped on the computer with the same results. Bummer!

  14. Laura

I haven’t been able to get it to work, either. Please let us know if you get any answers from Customer Service.

    • Heather N

I contacted customer service through chat. They let me do two separate transactions and adjusted the price once I gave them the order number. Done at 8:37 EST. Good luck!

  15. Shirley

I can’t get it to work either πŸ™

  16. Shirley

Heather, did you contact amazon customer service?

    • Heather N

Yes, I did this morning. I contacted them through their chat that they have. The person I spoke with just asked me to show them the webpage. I then placed my order and they went in and adjusted it once I sent them my order number through chat.

  17. Julie c

I just used the help chat too and they had me place one order with for books and applied the discount twice. $12.76 for 4 books!

  18. Kristina

I did chat too. They had no problem giving me the discount πŸ™‚

    • Kristina

The promotion is good thru Nov 24 or while supplies last.

  19. AmyC

I didn’t get the $5 off but it was still a good deal.

    • Tory

I did two orders of 2 books at the regular price just to get the ones i ntedwa before they were gone, then mailed customer service after about the $5 off and they adjusted the price after the fact very quickly
