We stayed here in feb. Nice hotel. If you go they offer a free class every day. I did the lei making class. Everything is expensive and it’s about 30 mins from town. Also no beach access unless u walk a mile. But has a lagoon open to ocean. It has lots of fish and sea turtle
I’ve stayed there a couple of years ago! It is VERY expensive, but walking distance to the village (I think dalymom08 is thinking that “town” in Kona, which is 30 min. away). Restaurants are within walking distance. Beach access is right next door. Definitely not a mile. Maybe 1/4? I stayed at the beach access hotel on my honeymoon! π This is a first class resort! GORGEOUS! Wish we could afford the airfare, because I’d be all over this!
The restaurants and shopping center are in walking distance but if u want to go to walmart or target to save money it’s a pretty good drive. We stayed a week and got water, snacks, breakfast food, and other forgotten items at walmart. Your right about beach access not being a mile but is is a very long way if u r staying in the palace tower or one beside it. I would say at least 20 min walk. Just a thought if you have small kids because it’s sand and has tree roots in path not stroller friendly. I would drive to beach if you have small kids.
Just got $397 RT to Kona March 3-11 on Alaska Air
Least expensive choice on those dates was $208/night for a couple. Puhleeze! I’ll be looking elsewhere.
Make sure to scroll down, lowest rate for those dates is $119 a night π
Beautiful hotel with lots of fun stuff for families! It is expensive, but sister and her family live in Kona so we get the kamaaina rate. When we visit them we usually go here for a few nights because it is so great! I highly recommend and this is a great deal!
I so wish we could go! This is where my husband is from and where his dad and siblings still live, and I’ve yet to go or take the kids to meet that half of the family! π One day!
Which island is this on? We are planning to go to Oahu for our anniversary but it sounds like this is a different island….
It’s on the big island, Hawaii. IMNSHO, if you’ve never been to the islands you may want to look around a bit before deciding on Oahu. Honolulu makes a great day trip but for a real Hawaiian experience the other islands may be a better choice.
Thank you π
I believe this is on big island, Kona.
Thank you π
We’ve stayed here before and it’s a fantastic resort. Our kids loved the lagoon and dolphins. We swam in the ocean with the turtles. The pools and water slides are fun. Food is pricey, but it is everywhere in hawaii. The big island is our favorite.
Very nice family friendly resort. I live near it. We often pop in for the day to visit the dolphins. We also spent the night for my son’s birthday. Super fun!
OMG Collin, thank you soooooo much for posting this and thank you Molly for sharing! Just booked 5 nights in October, will be the best Christmas gift for the fam ever! My lil one is having brain surgery in January to remove a seizure causing lesion. As scary as it sounds it’s a good thing and will allow her to live a happy, healthy, seizure free life. That said, my tough as nails, smiley as ever munchkin so deserves vaca! I was looking at cruises, trips to Hawaii, just something really special where we could create life long family memories. The Hilton Waikoloa Village fit the bill but was a little out of budget then magically you posted! So again thank you for everything you and team Hip2Save do. You all make a big positive impact for many of us readers an I’m just so thankful!
This hotel is on the west coast of the Big Island, about 30 minutes north of Kona. We spent a day here to swim with the dolphins, and if we ever make it back I would love to get a room here. Yes, everything in Hawaii is expensive, and the Walmart or Costco (if you have a membership) in Kona is your best bet for loading up on cheap food, drinks, and souvenirs to take back to your room. You will want to stay in Kailua-Kona for at least a few hours and check out all the shops along the ocean, so the 30 minute drive is worth it. It’s also amazing to take a full day trip around the entire island, there are SO many things to see. I have been to the Big Island three times; I cry every time we land, and every time we have to leave. Heaven on Earth, so glad that some of you get to go!
It is in point of fact a great and useful piece of info. I’m happy that you shared this useful info with us. Please stay us up to date like this. Thanks for sharing.|
