Books by raina telgemeier are really good and are wildly popular with middle school kids (girls especially) at my library. I highly recommend them!

when you register for the sale, you have the option to volunteer. I do this all the time. They pay $10 an hour in free books (at the discounted price). I worked six hours last week and am doing seven this week. My warehouse also lets you use the coupon with your free purchase. It’s awesome!!

I have volunteered the last 5 years. I love it, can’t beat getting paid in books! I just worked Saturday so I’m shopping tomorrow. It’s definitely a fun and easy way to get a lot books!!

      • Kristie

Cool! I’ve got a box set aside and will finish my shopping Saturday at the end of my shift. I will get some books for my own kids and my nephew plus some for my boys’ wonderful teachers.

Wow – it’s in Oaks, PA now, which is right near me! Couldn’t have posted this at a better time, thanks Collin. I’ve never heard of this, but am excited to swing by tonight!

Code worked great for me even though my sub-total was $49 and change. I’m always SO appreciative when sites do this and don’t hold fast to the “exact minimal amount” – knowing it is hard to hit that. Thank you for this link.

All 3 events in my area are already over πŸ™

I have been wanting to check this out for years and finally went last week – so fun!
My 2 year old grabbed something random off a shelf and then I realized it was a Harry Potter full boxed set – $35! My husband couldn’t believe that deal:)
I got lots of other great deals as well and was tempted to go back alone because I was shopping quickly with a little helper along;)

Thank You so much for this. I start my student teaching soon and have started collecting for my future classroom. Planning of volunteering πŸ™‚

Thank you so much for posting this! I had literally just gotten off the phone with scholastic trying to get a book shipped here by Friday and they said no. I called the warehouse in our city and they have the book in stock!

I go every year and to a spring one – it is an amazing sale. I used the $10 off of $50 purchase, bought 18 books for $49. Most of them were paperback picture books but at $2.50 each for most of them, I stock up for my book loving kids and for presents.

These warehouse sales are incredible. It’s a children’s book lover’s dream. Most books are only 50% off though, in case some are hoping for more. The build a box books are also nothing exciting-kinda the reject books if there is such a thing but a super good deal if you’re just looking to donate.

  14. CK

This is all done in person? Nothing online?

  15. Brittany

I am so excited! My little boy loves books!

  16. Selena

If you volunteer, do you have to be a teacher, etc????

    • Kristie

I was a teacher but am a stay at home mom now and am volunteering for the third time this year. They don’t ask or care. There are so many cases coming back from schools that they need the help!

I just went to the sale in Danbury, CT. I have been going since 2008. I love exploring the warehouse and walking up and down the isles. Easily spend 2-3 hours trying to find books that my students will enjoy. The Winter and Summer sales are the largest (at the warehouses) from my experience. They have two other sales in the Spring and Fall that are smaller, but the prices are just as good. All teachers should check out these sales at least once.

  18. Emily

I love the warehouse sales–I stock up on Christmas and birthday gifts there! I filled a shopping cart with books last week and my total came to $53, minus the $10 off $50 I got for signing up, so $43.

I was excited to see 12 in California. Unfortunately, unless I take a trip to Disneyland …. The next closest is 2 hra away….. Oh well

I saw this post yesterday and clicked the link turns out the warehouse sale for my area (Wilmington DE) started today. I went this morning and filled 2 boxes for $25 each. I was able to buy Caldecott award winners, NYT best sellers, butterfly gardens, a game, and many hardcover children’s book (all books were hardcover except 2 cookbooks and one adult book). Some of the books available in that section weren’t so great but many awesome. This is definitely worth checking out. Thanks Colin!
