(Thanks, Shop the Hot Deals!)
What is the trick to purchasing these? I tried yesterday and in one second they were sold out – ONE SECOND. Do you put it in your shopping cart prior to the Lightning Deal or something else? Any help would be appreciated.
Same question. I have never been able to purchase a lightening deal. 😔
Prime members get a 30-minute early access to select Amazon Lightning Deals.
I have Prime & I still have been unable to get a Lightening Deal.
I have prime also but never scored one.
I have Prime and was able to score three lightening deals so far. I wait until its just a few seconds before the deal starts and refresh my page. As soon as its active I click on it and check out as fast as I can.
what exactly is a lightening deal? it looks like the same price so im confused about the deal?
Click the link and you’ll see upcoming lightning deals with a timer and/or start time under them. I just open that page when it gets close to hitting the deal I want, and let the timer click down, then click the “claim this offer” button that appears where the countdown timer was.
Same here!
I have 3 $10 Victoria Secret reward codes that I would like to trade for Walmart, Target, or Amazon e-gift cards. Please reply if interested.
I am interested but am having a difficult time pm’ing you. Contact me a fivejaze@hotmail.com
I just emailed you.
is there a deal on these like 20% off or something?
Yep! Once the deal goes live, you’ll see the various discounts on the gift cards.
This was totally unclear to me, too. I read this post over and over and couldn’t figure out how this was any kind of deal!
I was able to purchase this GC for 20% off. I am a prime member tho. That might be the difference
Anyone know how much “off” are these? Like a $50 giftcard sells for how much?
They may be sold out immediately because some of these have “Prime Member Early Access” where Amazon Prime members can buy them 30 minutes before everyone else.
$50 goes for $40. I have been buying different ones for the last few days. $25 goes for $20… $20 for $16.. 20% off is what its been.
there is a freebie for physicians formula =)
Is there a limit of how many cards you can buy for each type? I have not bought any yet and was wanting to get 2 of one kind?
I tried it only let me get one of each.
i am not seeing the DEAL here… the jiffy lube one is live right now for amazon prime members and it says “denomination $25.00′ cost 25.00??? Anyone have any insight?
Jiffy lube says it starts at 10 am for me…
Usually, if it is a lightening deal, you can only buy one card of each at one time.
And the trick to getting them before the sell out, is to be a Prime Member. I am a PM and get access 30 minutes before. Also, make sure to check balance when you get card. Some reviewers said they got their cards but they were never activated.
I’m a PM and yesterday watched the countdown timer for a gift card until there were 3 seconds left before PMs could purchase. Clicked the gift card link and SOLD OUT. Can you place the Gift Card in the shopping cart prior to the lightning deal and as soon as the deal goes live confirm your purchase? Will the price change to the lightning deal price?
Off topic but if anyone won’t be using their victorias secret codes and wants to donate them. I can definitely use them. My email is liz2047031@gmail.com thank you!
The lightening deals only work for me on my laptop if it’s something that’s selling out within the minute, the app on my phone is too slow for it work.
Tips for getting lightning deals:
1. Be a prime member, or at least know which deals start early for prime members. Those deals will most likely not be worth looking at because they will probably not be available by the time the deal starts for you.
2. USE A REAL COMPUTER. Mobile apps are constantly messing up when it comes to lightning deals, and when you need to be fast, a computer is best.
3. Be available a couple minutes before the deal is ready.
4. Do NOT click on the ITEM once it becomes available!
5. The MOMENT it becomes available, click ADD TO CART, below the item on the lightning deals page.
6. You will then have 15 minutes from the time you add it to your cart to make the purchase. If you don’t complete the checkout process within 15 minutes, it will be removed from your cart and made available to others again. This is a great tool because if you aren’t sure about whether or not you want to purchase it, you can add it to your cart once it becomes available, then check out the product page, etc., before deciding whether ot not you really want it.
I hope this helps! 🙂
Thank you methodicalmadness (cool username) – I’ve been clicking the image not the “add to cart” button. I’ll give it a try next time and see what happens. Have a great weekend.
Can you use Amazon GCs to pay?
Would be a good deal because Thornton’s has stations have the Amazon GCs 20% off thru the 31st!
No you can’t. has to be a credit card.
Are the times they are available in EST or PST?
I thought the outback card started at 3:30? How come I don’t see it?
Dee, I don’t know what’s going on. Subway was supposed to start at 5, but it’s disappeared now, too. Bait and Switch?
never mind. It looks like they changed the time or it was in a different spot.
I have Amazon Prime and this doesn’t look like a deal. The price of the gift cards are the price of the card. I don’t get this. Am I missing something? I have purchased lightening deals before.
Theresa, when it is a lightning deal, the sale price doesn’t show up until the time of the sale starts.
Sorry not worth the effort to me!!
lol…..what effort? Click, click, click and magically a discounted gift card appears in the mailbox 2 days later. What could be easier? On a $25 card it is only a $5 savings, but that is a free sub for one of my kids at Subway! Good enough for me 🙂 Took me under a minute from start to finish.
I agree, Karen. 20% off isn’t a HUGE discount, but it’s easy to get, and if you know you’ll shop there anyway, then 20% off is fabulous! What can be easier than clicking a few buttons and shopping from home?! 🙂
