Happy Friday: Homemade Ugly Christmas Sweater

There is going to be an “Ugly Christmas Sweater” contest at my husband’s office party tomorrow. We don’t have any Christmas sweaters at home, so I decided to make one. I used some scraps of fabric from my garage sale/donation pile, some leftover Christmas decorations and Pinterest inspiration.
I had fun making it, and it makes me smile just by looking at it. And the best part is – I didn’t spend any money to make it (although I may have to buy my husband a new sweater, because I like this one the way it is now! 🙂 ). Happy Friday and Merry Christmas!

Cute! I did this same time thing a few years ago but I used my children’s handprints as the antlers. Just used cheap fabric “puff paint” as finger paint and it worked great! I sewed/glues bells, fabric and pin/poms like Tatyana did.

I just saw a Make Your Own Ugly Sweater kit tonight at Kohl’s for $25. I only glanced at it, but it seemed pretty generic looking. This one however looks great- very original and free!
