I was told that no coupons are allowed on clearance items. Has anyone else had a problem using them?

I even showed them the coupon policy. They would not budge.
i use coupons on clearance items all the time… unless coupon excludes clearance you should be able to.
Mobile coupons can’t be used on clearance items. The coupons sent to your phone are programmed to only work on full price items. Certain cartwheel offers exclude clearance too. But manufacturer and some cartwheel coupons can be used on clearance.
This place was a zoo this morning some lady almost ran me over with her shopping cart. Woman where running to the bag and aluminum foil area. They completely cleared the shelves with in min of the store being opened. I left the store almost shaking it was crazy so crazy. The way some people act you would think they where giving out free diamonds or something. I think its crazy that some of the ladies had their entire cart full of freezer bags and aluminum foil.
Witnessed similar crazy behavior at local walmart…I actually avoided the Christmas area in fear of losing my cool. ;).
Wow that sounds nuts!! I’m so shopped out from Christmas I don’t want to even set foot in a store until after New Years!!;) it baffles me how the day after Christmas people are still going crazy buying things!
Same!! Let’s be happy with what we have! The next day there’s no need to be out shopping.. For anything!

I seen the same thing this morning. She literally filled up the cart, the basket and the bottom with zip lock products and up&up.
One of the ladies that had cleared most of the shelve dropped a box of foil another customer picked it up and she was like no that is mine. It was crazy to me I just can’t stop thinking how nuts it was. I was just crowded out of the area with all those ladies as if I wasn’t standing there. I am not a push shove kind of person so to me this was really insane.
Wow thats rude and there is no way I would have given it to her if she had talked me to that way. People are too much.
I always wait until a few days after the holiday. Not worth a headache and rude people. If I find some good deals great and if not oh well. Just cannot justify the madness.
Same here!! Let all the crazies have their space. I go when it’s calm and quieted down. Not worth a deal if you leave a store upset for any reason.

Ok, so I wasnt the only one who thought people acted as LUNATICS this morning in Target! Granted I was there to find good deals too, but nothing worth running people over or filling up my cart like we are expecting an end of the world situation. I needed some diapers for sure which is mainly why I was out and about at 8:00 in the morning day after Christmas and that is all I bought and came back home, too disturbed by how people behaved.
I had an issue with the mobile target clearance code today. The salesperson said it wouldn’t work on the toddler jacket I was buying. It came up clearance when I scanned it at the price checker though. Not sure what that was about? Anyone have the same problem?
Same here! I bought 5 hello kitty socks and they are on clearance 30% off and when the cashier scanned my coupon nothing came up and she’s like those are no clearance!!!! Well…… Then she said the sale no on the hello kitty stuff… Ok ….
up & up Santa diapers are on clearance for $3.49. Size 3 has 32 diapers in the package. Just a heads up!
Yup! My store didn’t have them marked but rang up on clearance. I bought 6 packs for $20 instead of the regular big box of up and up diapers. 222 diapers total. Just the kind of savings i needed cause christmas hit our budget hard.

I never find things like ziplock bags that stinks. find kleenex. Are target was crazy today but no rudeness that i know of. I plan to go monday weekdays less busy
They also had the Christmas blend archer farms Keurig coffee pods as part of the Christmas clearance. They rang up 6.00 and then there was a cartwheel for an additional 10% off.
I didnt see anything crazy and there was lots of stuff left at 1pm. I guess it just depends where you live……no worries if you coupon you will get deals all year anyway!

The holiday baby wipes were 74 cents at my store! I stocked up!
the target near me was wiped out by the time i got there (9am). There was hardly anything left on the shelves. What a bummer 🙁

The Ziploc bags are half off and there is a Target q and manufacturer’s q to go with them which makes them .50 a box
Ziploc freezer bag were free with target qpon and manufacture qpon. The shelves were empty at my target at 8:30 when I got there…
There are coupons making the Ziploc items free because they where half off. There is a 75 cents off coupon for foil so making those 75 cents each. So it was a good deal I didn’t realize the coupon deal when I went. I now know why people where clearing the shelves some had full carts with the stuff.
Target’s coupon policy only allows four manufacturer coupons per transaction, so can’t understand how these shoppers were allowed to clear shelves and fill up their entire carts with these deals. (Their register actually beeps when you try to use a fifth coupon.)

The ziplocs…besides the Qs if you have saving star they’re also on there. Ended up a money maker.
But about all those people buying cartloads of the same item….Target doesn’t allow you to use more than 4 of the same coupon per transaction…unless those people were splitting each transaction up, I don’t think that those people with all those boxes of foil and Ziploc bags would be able to use coupons on all those items?!
I don’t mind people buying a lot of the same item…they did get there first apparently, but I do try to share, and you certainly shouldn’t be rude like it sounds like some of these people were. I was at my Target this morning by 7:15, and a man and a woman had all that Reynolds/Ziploc stuff. The way I figure it, I save much more on the other non-Reynolds/Ziploc items…like getting toothbrushes for 2.49 (or cheaper!!) or an Elf on the shelf for 2.99 each last year–that alone saved me $27…and I got several for gifts/donations that I used this year.
Scored a girl elf on the shelf, 2 pairs of elf on the shelf pjs and the elf on the shelf movie all 50% off even though they were only marked 30%. 😄
Went this afternoon, most of the good stuff was gone. I did find one lonely Up and Up tissue box for .69, had a .50 off and used the cartwheel, got it for .18.

Hmm Target only let’s you print 2-3 of their store coupons. So I wonder how those people planned on using double stacked coupons on a cart full if stuff.
I know. That is was I was thinking. In order to get to the $22 needed for the savingstar rebate you needed to buy like 15 if they are 1.49 so how would that work out?? I don’t know. I just stayed home lol!
Scored a doc mc stuffins stethoscope in the stocking stuffers for $2.50, baby lips Chapstick for &1.74, frozen wrapping paper for 50% off (it’s not holiday themed either!), and tissue paper 🙂
i was the first person at my target by the paper products this morning and just as i was pulling up a store employee had 2 carts full of all the paper product clearance stuff i was going to buy..not fair since i got up at 6 am and stood outside waiting for it to open..wont be going there again
Hey Liz im sorry to hear that. If the employee was clocked in thats a big no no, I would mention something to the store manager.
I agree with Lauren. Even if this employee wasn’t clocked in, they clearly had an unfair advantage being able to be in the store and in that department before the store was even open to customers.
Target employees are not suppose to buy the items before the store opens. Talk to the store manage.
They probably were not buying them. They were probably being moved to the Christmas section with the other clearance.

When I was looking for reduced gift sets before Christmas a Target employee told me one lady had bought a basket full. He said she would sell the sets at the flea market. I have been told this several times especially when items are marked down 90%. People that own thrift stores buy and resale. Maybe there should be a limit set on clearance items so we could all enjoy the benefits.
Yes at our local target hemet Ca the couponers where rude. There where 4 women that literally cleared everything on clearance. It’s so ridiculous. I don’t get it. Sure take some for your family but leave some for others. Then what makes me mad is when they go and sell it for more. So ridiculous how savings and couponers can be. Gives some of us a BAD name.
Costco ziplock is cheaper than the 50 off at target. Unless you have the q
People think because it is 50 off, it will be a deal, not necessarily if they shop at costco
Some people don’t do the math per bag…(oz, etc.). They just see it as the percentage off. When in all actuality if they did the math.. it’s typically(not always) cheaper to buying bags in bulk!
2 couponers at my store were whining about clearance shelf clearing. Clearance is fair game, imo, nothing wrong with clearing as that’s the whole point of it being on clearance! They were so busy whining while everyone else was enjoying the clearance and finding stuff for each other “oh here’s another pony for you” and “here is that bat man ornament!” It was fun!
Mu target didn’t have much I was interested in but I did score a Barbie for $2.50. Going to put it away for Easter basket.
Targets clearance is great at 70% nonfood and 50% off food but 50% & 30%? Nah, I’ll pass… but I went to Walmart tonight and scored large bags of candy 50% off and body care sets 50% off… why wait on Target’s prices to drop lol & fight all those shoppers who are “hard core” I’ll hit them up Monday! And YES its fair game to clear shelves but REALLY? Why do that? Tis the season for sharing!!!!

Exactly! 50/30% isn’t even great! with sales and coupons you can get that all year round and not look like a greedy freak with the others!
I got a good deal on Christmas goldfish crackers. Located in the cracker isle.
I scored on those 12 count Starbucks K-cups (Blonde flavor) were $3.88, so a crazy good deal with that $2.00 off 2 coupon noted on the blog!!!!! Also, scored the Digiorno pizza deal. Bought 6 pizzas and used 2 B2GO free coupons and my store surprisingly took off $12.02 ($6.01 suggested retail amount on each coupon)…so that ended up making each glorious pizza a whopping $2.99 each!!!!! WOOT WOOT!!!!!
I’ll be at Target tomorrow as the employees were quickly condensing candy on a whole aisle. But, then will be heading to Walmart for the air freshener items! Forgot coupons when I was there earlier but, noted 2 pack Airwick plug ins for $2.44, so with that $2/2 coupon that will make each one .72!!!!! Happy shopping everyone!
Last year I was able to shop for Christmas decorations online. Does anyone know why they didn’t sell Christmas stuff for discount online this year and only in the stores?
It just takes longer before they mark down the online stuff and even then it’s select items. But usually I get Christmas items in January/ February online.
candy was 50% off today! I got M&Ms and Hershey kisses 50% off with $1/2 coupon. Otherwise, nothing else….GRRRRRRR!
The only thing I want is a decorative pillow and a snow globe that both have a scooter on them but trying to wait for the best clearance. The boyfriend collects scooter stuff.
