LEGO Store: Build a Free LEGO Alien & Space Dog Mini Model (Tonight Only – Ages 6 to 14)
If you’re looking for something fun to do with the kiddos this evening, head on over to your local LEGO Store (if you have one nearby). Starting at 5PM, kids can learn how to build a LEGO Alien and Space Dog Mini Model (while supplies last)! Even sweeter, the kiddos will get to take their project home for FREE! Keep in mind that this mini model build event is for kids ages 6 to 14.
(Thanks, Freebies for a Cause & Coupons are my Currency!)
Does anyone know if the Lego store in Downtown Disneyland participates in this event ?
They do 🙂 I haven’t participated there myself, but we happened to be in Downtown Disneyland one day and there was a super huge line coming out of the store. When I asked what it was for, I found out it was for the mini build. If you call the store, they could probably give you an idea of what time to come by. They give people a ticket at a certain time to redeem for the mini build, and I don’t know what number of people they cap it at. I think our local store gets about 250 if I remember correctly, but the Disney location is far bigger so they may get more.
As an FYI to all the little Lego fans out there, there are monthly Lego Club meetings you can sign up for that normally used to run $20/ per event. They have changed it this year and lowered to $10. They won’t be giving out t-shirts at them anymore, but instead I was told that kids will be given the monthly build (so in this circumstance, the alien and space dog, and you don’t have to wait in line like everyone else does at the beginning of the month) as well as an empty half cup which the kids can use to fill up with whatever legos they like on the loose brick wall, and they will build something to go along with the alien and space dog (like a house or a spaceship or whatever their imagination comes up with). At the end of the meeting, they get to keep all the legos they put in their cup, plus the mini build, and possibly also a pin. I know they opened sign ups on Jan 1 (we were first at our store, yay!) so it is more than likely that slots are still available. I have not signed up my 7-year-old son before, so I won’t be able to compare the old version of the meeting vs. the new version, but I like that the price is only $10, especially considering it is like $8.50 alone to buy a half cup of the loose bricks. Something fun for the kiddos that won’t break mom and dad’s bank (if you can manage to get out of there without having to buy them something else!!) Plus who am I kidding? My husband and I love Legos too 🙂 If anyone is interested, ask your local Lego Store. Our location is great about keeping us up-to-date on all the new happenings, so I am sure any store employee will be more than happy to tell you how to sign up. Enjoy!
Thanks for the information! We’ll have to check it out. At $20 per kid, it’s a bit pricey (single mom with two kids). But $10 per kid is worth a try.
Thanks!
