    does this work for renewals?

    • k

I wonder the same thing. Mine expires 2/23 and will renew at $99. Maybe I could cancel my current subscription and re-join at the cheaper rate?

      • Bunny

I purchased an Amazon prime membership account on ebay for under sixteen dollars. It is for free two day shipping only (it doesn’t include streaming or movies).

We’ve used it several times and it’s totally legit!

        • Erin

Hmmm. That is tempting but it isn’t a prime membership per se. People are just selling their “benefits,” which is supposed to be limited to household members. Not sure how that works if they are delivering items to a different address. I don’t know that I’d want to give out my birthday and email to someone on eBay, either.

        • Pia

Thank you for this info. Just saw this on eBay. I see that you just send your email and bday . Is that all you did? Is it a one time deal or monthly?

          • Kim

One time deal, but at anytime they can remove you from their “household” or just not renew their subscription so a gamble.

            • Jennifer G.

Or even cancel now & get a refund! I just had to cuz i lost my job& meant to cancel after trial, so it is possible

          • Yoli

If you know a friend or family member that has Prime, they can share the 2 day shipping for free.

            • jenny

How does that work when a different household is using your account? Do they need to log-in under your account? Just wondering because I buy Amazon gift cards at Giant Eagle to get fuel perks, then just apply the GCs to my account. I wouldn’t want my friend to have access to those gift cards (not a trust issue, just accounting!).

            • Marty B

Jenny, not they don’t actually have access to your account information they have their own account that just gets to use the same prime shipping benefits.

          • Bunny

@Pia. That is correct. You just give them the month and day of your birthday (not the year). You can also “make up” a different birthday than your own, but you would need to remember it.

Every month we get an “invite” from the ebay seller and we just click on the link and give our birthday and the birthday of the seller. We’ve had no problems at all. It’s totally legit.

Sixteen dollars versus ninety-nine dollars. It was a no-brainer for us and glad we did it!

            • Pia

              Thank you!

            • Kathy

I tried setting my parents up under us so they could receive the free shipping but can’t see if it went through. I checked their email for the invite and done what it said.

          • Bunny

And one other thing….Marty’s comment above is correct. The ebay seller does not have access to your account (nor do you have access to theirs)!

            • jenny

Thanks so much. I’m not going the Ebay route because I use Prime for Kindle books, but will share the shipping with my friend.

  2. Alyssa M

I wonder how this would work if I’m a current Prime member? Would I be able to renew early and it would then start at my renewal date?

  3. Karen

Wondering the same thing about renewals.

  4. Kelli Sanchez

Me too…would definitely renew now at this price!!!!

  5. peepslob

This is off subject, but I have a Shutterfly code here that I don’t want (It is for $20):
    KE65-2HRC-E7PY-30F5VH
    Have a nice day!!!

    • Tina

      Thank you for the code!

  6. irene

I got an offer in the mail for free year of Prime when I open a no annual fee AmEx. It’s a great deal, but hesitant to open the flood gates to impulse purchases!

    • Erin

      Me, too!

    • Jill

I find my AMEX very handy. It’s the only credit card Costco takes & I also get free shop runner from AMEX. Just FYI to help you decide.

    • Jennifer G.

I stick to using Amazon for getting product info that might be missing on other sites, price comparisons, & for reading with kindle unlimited unless I’m shopping for something specific that i cant get elsewhere, like a replacement refrigerator shelf i needed recently.

  7. Kris

Not sure if it will work but right before Prime went up last time I bought a gift membership for Prime and made myself the receipient. It came as an email and I just applied the gift right before my old membership ran out and had a chance to renew. Just a thought…

    • k

      Very good idea! Thank you!!

    ndw members only

    • Jennifer G.

Well what i see is it says new members can purchase…doesnt say new only tho. Wouldnt stop me from atleast tryint

  9. Maureen

    Ugh…I literally just renewed!

    • thejrallimans

Same here. Few days ago…so annoyed.

    • Ihearthip2save

Me too. My charge for renewal just hit my card yesterday or the day before. 🙁

      • Christine

If it’s within 7 days you should be able to get the lower price. Just call in on Saturday and ask. I’ve gotten several price reductions. Sometimes it’s a credit to my account, others is a credit on my card. Either way, I’m happy.

    • Shannon

      Me too!

      • Tomoko

Me too. I just renewed on Jan 15th 🙁

    • Jennifer G.

Yall make me feel like a deviant! Id totally be calling to request a refund & then purchasing this wkend, with a different amazon acct created with a different email address if necessary. Worth i shot.

  10. Denise

My renewal is coming up in about a month, this would be awesome if we can use this for renewals.

    • CO Mama

Just gift yourself the membership with a delivery date the day before your current memebership expires. Did this last time and worked perfectly. Worth every penny in my opinion, love Prime!

      • Alyssa M

I wonder if I could gift this to myself for when my membership expires beginning of May or would that be too far off?

  11. Ihearthip2save

    From the Transparent Facebook page:

In just 2 days, Amazon.com is Making All 10 Episodes of #Transparent available for FREE for 24 hours only! Starting at 12:01 a.m. ET this Saturday, everyone can watch Transparent using the Amazon Instant Video app for TVs, connected devices and mobile devices, or online at Amazon.com/Transparent. To add to the celebrations, customers will also be able to sign-up for Amazon Prime for just $72! Let the countdown begin!

  12. Helpy

how many email ids we can add in one membership?

    • 1luv

      Five now

    • Chris Higdon

4 additional emails can be tied to one prime membership

  13. Bella

Off topic, but back in December I participated in the BWW promotion where you mail them and they will mail back a gift card worth anything from $5 to $100. Has anyone received anything?

    Also, I have a shutterfly code: G6YT-BN7K-3MNV-RJH5
You have to go through the kelloggs site to redeem it and the 20$ will show up via email.

  14. Laura

I just got charged $99 for a full year a few days ago after doing the free 30 day trial….so annoying that now it will be $72 on Sat! I am wondering if I would be eligible for this reduced rate since I just joined this week in order to save the $27

    • Kim

If you haven’t used it since the renewal date you can cancel it and it will automatically refund the $99. Just happened to me a couple days ago too!

      • Laura

Thanks for the info! I just ordered some things yesterday though. 🙁 I might try to call them on Sat and see what happens.

  15. Felicia

That’s so odd that part of their promotion is that you can watch all 10 episodes for free…for one day only, is that right?

I ask because I watched all 10 episodes on Prime back in November.

    • Stacey

I think it means that on Saturday it will be available for anyone to watch, including people who do not have Prime but want to see the show.

    • Karen

It is free to view for NON-prime members this date. A promo of pride for Amazon. Already available for free to Prime members.

  16. Carmen

Thank you Collin!!!! I would have never saw this on my own. I love Hip2Save! I could not justify renewing at $99 but for $72 (and I still have a $30 subscribe and save credit), it’s worth it! I’ve had something sitting in my cart for over a week waiting to need something so I could place my $35 order. Thank you again!!!!

  17. Nn4ever

I had just renewed my membership a few weeks before. I called Amazon a few mins ago and they won’t price match but I was able to cancel my membership and get the full $99 refund. So I will just have to sign up again this Saturday:)

    • Angela

I just got off the phone with customer service and they told me if I cancel I won’t be able to buy it at the 72 dollar price tomorrow because I would not be a new member. I also just renewed! So disturbed that they would not credit my account for the 27 dollars! They are ok with losing me as a longtime customer instead of crediting my account. Ugggg!

  18. Yoli

You can share just the 2 day free shipping portion of your Prime membership with up to four people for free. So if someone you know has Prime and you don’t, you can ask them to share and then you get the 2 day free shipping as long as they have Prime (or until they take you off).

    • Jen

Two day shipping is only to be shared with members of your household.

  19. deb

Does this apply to new members or existing members can get this deal. My prime expires the end of this month

  20. Heather

This absolutely made my day–have been waiting for a deal like this on Amazon Prime! 🙂

    • Nicole

      Me too!! So excited!

  21. jen

off topic, but I received the $30 subscribe and save credit a couple months ago, and i clicked through the email to redeem the offer. It said it would come off my next subscribe and save purchase but it hasn’t. Anyone else have this problem? Is it only new subscriptions?

    • Kat

Mine only came off of new subscriptions. If you don’t want any new subscriptions, you can cancel them and then resubscribe.

  22. Judy

if I get Prime can I get Amazon Mom benefits too? Is there a charge for the Amazon Mom program?

    • elise

You can have both prime and mom, plus there is no charge for mom.

  23. Caitlin

This is a really good show. I just finished watching last night.

    • Desiree

Kari is right! My daughter is in college and I use her Student Prime. I use the Prime Pantry to fill up with lots of nicely priced food and goodies and it is only $5.99 for a big box! I then mail it to her at college. We both win!

      • Rhonda

I was wondering if I could use my daughters student prime acct. If we sign her up and she is at college can I use her acct at home and will we both be able to watch videos and tv shows?

    • Maryann

Thank you all for this! I was trying to decide if I should buy Prime since I missed the deal (got paid after) but dd is going to college in a couple of years so I can just do this for her and use it then. Thank you!

  24. Andrea

Is there a way to check the balance of the $30 subscribe and save credit the sent prime members?

  25. Ivana

Does anyone know if the price for students is cheaper

  26. Sue

I had a lengthy conversation with Amazon – ugh! This is for new members only. It will not work if you cancel and renew; you will be charged the $99 rate to rejoin 🙁

    • mel

thank you! Sure we were all wondering. I know I was.

    • Alice

I was just told the exact opposite! She said the only way to get the $72 deal is to cancel the existing membership before or on Saturday and then resubscribe!

  27. Liz

Amazon rep told me it’s for new subscriptions only

  28. Melissa

Well, regardless of whether you are paying $99 or $72 for Amazon Prime, it is the most amazing deal around. To get free 2 day shipping, free movies, free Kindle, and free unlimited cloud storage for your photos for either price is a wonderful bargain.

  29. Casey

Great show! I watched it all in one sitting 🙂

  30. seana

My advise would be wait til the day it is eligible. I called today. Got canceled, Double charged $99 rate
. 50 minutes later. I will have the new rate plus a 30$ credit for my time. It will be easier on the right day. They will be applying the new charge and crediting me.

  31. Nicole

I am currently on the 30 day free trial that I just signed up for a few days ago I wonder if I could buy now at the reduced rate – could that work?

    • Patty

I called to see if I could get a refund of $27 because my trial was up on 1/16. I got billed $99 on 1/17. Finally, with some kindness and patience, I was given a $20 credit. I too thought I could cancel today and just join on Saturday but I had just placed like three orders between 1/17 and 1/20 so it was more or less already in use so the option to cancel wasn’t there for me. Glad to get what I did in any case! There was an offer for a Chase card that pops up as a banner on the website that gets you a $70 credit that would be a good option if you want to give the full Prime membership a whirl at only a couple of bucks if you get a new membership on Saturday.

  32. Cheri P

does anyone know if in a year it will allow you to renew for $72 or will it automatically go back up to $99?

    • seana

Most likely it will go up. I renewed at the lower rate last year and it automatically increased this time around.

      • puredcp

you mean you renewed at the $79 rate and then it went back up to $99 when you renewed again?

  33. Lily

This is definitely a better deal but don’t forget that you can pay monthly. I pay $7.99 per month, which ends up being $96. This works best for my finances. And if the regular price is normally $99, you’ll save $4 by doing it monthly.

  34. Kathy

Will not let me receive it for this price. We’ve been Prime for a few years. Stinks!!! Thanks for sharing…great price for those who haven’t signed up. I didn’t know you could break up the payment, that is good to know.

  35. Nora

Interesting…how many different responses from the same company regarding this post! I just called and was told I could do one of two things, I could cancel my membership and receive a credit for the $99 I was charged when my account renewed on the 16th of January and join again on Sat for the $72 or accept a $27 credit on my account which can be applied to any item sold from Amazon directly. I had placed a few orders since my membership renewed and asked how I would be able to cancel and the woman I was speaking with said that I wouldn’t be able to cancel on my end, but that she had the ability to do so on her end. I opted for the $27 credit to save myself the trouble of cancelling and renewing. My advice to those of you that have commented that you were told from Amazon this is only for new subscribers to Amazon Prime, is to call back and ask to speak with a supervisor. I’m sure you’ll be happy you did!! 🙂

  36. Cathrine

Just visited my Prime membership page. It will not let me cancel my membership and will not give me any portion of a refund. I imagine a ton of people will be trying to call tomorrow. Congrats to those who managed to get the discount despite having an existing account. For me, I just don’t think I have the time, as appealing as $27 is. In truth, Amazon gave me a $200 credit last year when they goofed on some marketing on a new Canon Rebel T5i. Talk about customer service! I think I’ve got a few more years of $99 membership fees to not gripe about. 😉

  37. Karen

Can I gift a 72 membership to my renewal date,?

    • Jen

It let me do this! We’ll see if it works… My membership is up on March 13th. I gifted for March 12th.
